I Can’t Bring Myself to Face You – Part 03

“I’m gonna go hit the hay,” I said, standing up.

Ayaka arrived safely, and there was nothing more I could do. I’d just disturb them by staying up.

“Ayumu.” Sera stared at me, a touch of melancholy in her eyes.

“What’s wrong? That face doesn’t suit you.”

“Uh… nothing.” She seemed like she wanted to say something but looked away.

“Not speaking bluntly isn’t like you either.”

Ah, whatever. If I didn’t sleep soon, I wouldn’t be able to wake up in the morning.

A healthy, grandpa-like routine fit me best. Zombies were the exact opposite, though.

I climbed the stairs toward my room. Still, I couldn’t stop thinking about Haruna. She told me not to peek, but she never said anything about listening.

I pressed my ear to the door to check what was going on inside.

“Samba! Hoo hoo!”

Something had started. That was definitely Haruna’s voice.
