“All right, enough depressing talk! Everything’s ready, so look over here.”

Haruna finally sprang into action. I’d assumed she stayed unusually quiet because she was playing with the owl, but it looked like she planned to cook.

When I looked toward the kitchen, I saw Tomonori, Haruna, and… Sera.

“I don’t really get the complicated stuff,” Tomonori said. “So today, I figured I’d treat everyone to my cooking.”

Tomonori and Haruna, both in aprons, stood in front of a massive iron griddle, while Sera stood a short distance away, minding a pot on a stove.

“Maelstrom. No one will be satisfied with your cooking. I will handle this instead,” Sera said.

I pretended not to notice the ominous purple vapor rising from her pot.

A delicious smell wafted from the griddle to the room.

Lilia clapped her hands and stood up. “Let’s go take a look.
