But then, along with a strong gust of wind… he appeared.

「Eh…?」

Confused beyond belief, Homura raised his bewildered eyes at the figure that now stood right in front of him.

The speed with which he turned the tables on this hopeless life or death situation could not be compared to something as slow as the speed of the falling thunder. He was way faster than that.

Appearing faster than it could be registered with human’s perception speed, the young man caught the blade of Minotaur’s battle axe, which was three times larger than the size or of an adult man, and stopped it with nothing but his right hand alone. Even though it broke through reinforced armor plating like it was nothing, it couldn’t pierce through him or make him budge in the slightest. With how tough he was, the axe had better chances of cutting through the side of a mountain instead. But with him, it was as if he was an unmovable rock, and the battle axe was just a droplet of water splashed against its surface. But that was not the thing that surprised Homura the most.

The thing that surprised him the most was how wide the back of the person in front of him gotten. Since it was five years since they last saw each other when they were younger, it should have been obvious that the differences between them would only grow more and more apparent, but seeing them with his own eyes didn’t lessen the impact of that realization in the slightest.

But no matter how much he would have changed, there was no way for him to mistake that person for anyone else in the world, because on his neck he wore a pair of cat-eared headphones that he supposedly failed to give him during their last meeting five years ago.

He knew that he was the only one who could save him from, but in his mind he convinced himself that there was no way in hell for him to actually show up when he was needed the most. He simply wasn’t supposed to be here on this day, in this moment.

With an angry voice and the look in his eyes that could incinerate everything in its path to ash, the one who saved Saigo Homura and Kudou Ayato – Sakamaki Izayoi – asked while strengthening his grip on the battle axe’s blade:

「You bastard! What the hell do you think you’re doing to my little brother, huh?!」

Homura’s astonishment lasted for about a second

「Took you long enough!!! And why are you even here in the first place, Big Bro Iza?!」

He threw a bunch of spiteful words towards Izayoi, who stood between him and the Minotaur.

「Huh? First time we see each other in over three years and that’s what you greet me with? Anyway “Why are you even here?I feel like I should be the one asking you exactly the same question, you moron?!!!」

「Are you blind or something?! Well obviously I am being attacked by a friggin’ monster! And its been five years since we last met, not three! At least make the damn effort to remember things like that properly, you dumbass!!!」

Acting as if his mental restraints finally snapped, Homura was lashing at Izayoi with a barrage of insults mixed in with questions. But certainly, everyone with a working pair of eyes could easily tell that he was being attacked by a giant bull monster. But that was not the point behind his questions. He wanted to ask him many more things, but for now, both of them understood tha now was not the time for that. For the time being they told each other everything they wanted to tell, they returned to the matter at hand.

「I will keep this guy company, so you just scram, got it?」

「Would love to, but Ayato is in critical condition, so I have to treat her wounds first!」

He raised his eyebrow and looked back at Homura and Ayato whom he was still shielding with his body.

「Oh, I see. Well, in that case…. You heard that, Suzuka?」

「Aye aye sir!」

They heard Ayazato Suzuka’s voice somewhere around them, and in the next moment, both his and Ayato’s figures disappeared.

Not having to worry about them anymore Izayoi spun his body around and delivered a powerful roundhouse kick into the unsuspecting Minotaur’s stomach. Because he put all of his power into that kick, it send the Minotaur flying back into the burning school building. A feat like that would require no less than herculean strength, but for him it was as easy as swatting up a fly, so he just shrugged his shoulders and assumed an imposing fighting stance.

「So, we finally meet again, eh, Taurus? Oh, how does the time fly.」

With a light movement, he dashed into the building after Taurus, covering the distance between them in an instant. He was well aware that a weak attack like that won’t be enough to take that guy down.

Having its eyesight distorted by the heat and the flames, Taurus could only roar and charge at his new opponent.

「G E E E Y A A A A a a a a a………!!!!!!!!」

It swung its battle axe, cutting away the surrounding flames. That blow was both faster and stronger from any of the ones it used when it was chasing after Homura. On the other hand, though, Izayoi was unarmed, so if he doesn’t block or avoid that incoming blow, then his internal organs are bound to get scattered all over the place. He knew that… and yet he didn’t show any signs of defending against that incoming attack….

「What, that’s the best you can do? Hah, talk about being arrogant!」

… and simply bitch-slapped the battle axe away.

「G E Y A a…?!」

It was the first time when the Taurus’ roar was tinged with the emotion that could be best described as a mixture of fear and disbelief. If that roar could be turned into words, they would probably be something along the lines of 「What the fuck was that?! That’s crazy!!!??」, and what happened just now was certainly crazy. With just his hand Izayoi stopped Taurus’s battle axe and forced it to go back a few steps from the recoil.

「……………………….!」

Losing tha battle momentum like it never did before, the Minotaur leapt back to assess its situation more firmly. Izayoi, on the other hand, just laughed fearlessly while massaging the back of his hand which became just a little bit numb from the impact.

「That was a nice blow, but I’m sorry to say that it was useless. You might control the Taurus, but unluckily to you, I hold dominion over Leo, which made my body immune to bladed weapons such as that toy of yours. You can still whack away at me, be my guest, but if you chose to do that… then you’d better be prepared to be beaten to death.」

「……………..!!!!!!」

He provoked the monster by waving his fingers towards himself in a 『come on!』 gesture. It wasn’t apparent from Minotaur’s facial expressions, but it most likely understood that it was being taunted. But even after preparing its battle axe for another attack, it still looked like it was not sure of the situation it found itself in.

Hmm? Now that’s strange. I could have sworn it possessed intelligence just a while ago. Did it undergo some kind of change? Or maybe it was regression?

But before Izayoi could find the answers to those burning questions, Taurus charged at him again with another deafening roar. However, it looks like it is not stupid enough to repeat the same ineffective attack over and over again. It ran towards the burning school building, where it attacked him by throwing the burning pieces of debris at him using its battle axe.

「Oh! Now we’re talking!」

Seeing the enemy employ a truly unorthodox tactic out of desperation, he couldn’t help but to proclaim his excitement out loud. The flame-covered bulkhead armor pieces flew towards Izayoi like cannonballs, each and every one of them having more than enough power to lever buildings to the ground. Seeing how they covered so much space, avoiding them should be next to impossible.

But that was not what Izayoi wanted to do at all, since that would be no fun. His plan… was to return the package right back to the sender.

「Take this!!!」
