Pulling out her double spears while asking fer teacher for a favor, Ayato instantly sliced the gigantic arm into twenty-four pieces, but the rocky demon-bull pulled them all back together and regenerated them in the blink of an eye, causing her to click her tongue in displeasure. It was more than likely that this construct was similar to 『The Bull of Heaven』 in that it also didn’t have a main body that would act as its core.

If the Labyrinth itself was its entire body, then it could be said that right now they were all being in the belly of the beast. Taking that plus the issue of compatibility into account, Ayato concluded that right now, in her current state she lacked the means to bring this monster down.

Contrary to Ayato who was going through an internal crisis, Scathach calmly observed their enemy, after which she cleared the surrounding debris with her shadows and asked in a doubtful manner:

「Would it really be fine for me not to fight together with you?」

「Of course it would be better, but Scathach-sensei’s 『Dun Scaith』 is the only thing that can cover the entire Giant Spirit Train and protect it reliably! That’s why I want to leave Suzuka and the others in your care!」

「Well, you got me there. In that case, I wish you luck, my favorite student, and you better believe me when I say you’re gonna need it, because those guys are crazy strong as well.」

(Those guys? What does she…?)

Waving her goodbye, Scathach disappeared along with Suzuka. Hearing her parting words, both Homura and Ayato who remained behind grew extremely pale. They had an insanely bad feeling about what would happen next, and their predictions came true faster than they would have liked them to, because one after another, the patterns etched into the Labyrinth’s walls that depicted 『Labrys』 transformed into bull heads and began to gradually change their forms.

Three, four, five, six… the numbers of the bull heads quickly increased. While being drenched in cold sweat, Ayato unequipped the spears and brought forth her linked sword and then asked Homura:

「Okay senpai, a stupid question, if I may. Do you have any plan for getting out of this situation alive?」

「To that I say I have two of them, but they both require Asterios’ cooperation, so we would have to persuade him to help us first.」

「What?! But I thought you said that this boy was not Asterios!」

「No no no, I just said that he wasn’t the Minotaur. He is Asterios, of that I have no doubt.」

Ayato wanted to ask what exactly did he mean by it, but apparently the group of bull heads was not going to be nice enough to let her have it. Right now, there was more than twenty of them, so without any better options, the two turned their backs on them and broke into a mad dash toward 『Sun Thousand』 while the ever-increasing crowd of bull heads gave chase.

「Since it cannot be helped, let’s retreat for the time being!」

「To the Special Guest Wagon! We should be able to get inside through one of the broken windows!」

「Roger! But we have to hurry! Once the entire train gets covered with Scathach-sensei’s 『Dun Scaith』 we won’t be able to get inside even if we wanted to!」

Using her Serpens Scorpius Sword Flash, Ayato was cutting a way for them to run though the unending swarm of the arms of the bull heads which were converging on their location from left and right. The segments of her sword were cutting them down one after another while moving like a snake, but that was only a temporary solution to the setback at hand, not the problem in its entirety. Also, it amounted to every little since the bull heads regenerated the moment they were being cut down.

(If I was by myself I could get to the Special Guest Wagon, but with senpai here with me…!)

They weren’t that far away from the Special Guest But the distance was not the case here, but rather the numbers of the enemies. They were also regenerating instantly after each attack, but on the other hand, if either Homura or Ayato took even a single hit, it would result in them getting fatally wounded.

She could already feel dozens of them encroaching on them from behind. At this rate, it will be really bad….

(……..)

Resolving herself, Ayato stopped dead in her tracks.

「Senpai, please, go ahead while I will….!」

….. hold them all back, was the part that she didn’t get to finish, because when she finally prepared herself for a battle to the death, the wind around them started to blow furiously. Getting hit by it without warning, Homura was blown all the way towards the Giant Spirit Train and crashed into its side, getting knocked down onto his knees as a result.

「Ugh… crap baskets…」

He tried to get back on his feet as soon as possible, but one of the bull heads didn’t miss that chance and rushed in to attack, but before it could reach Homura…

「That fucking old geeeeeezeeeeeeeer………!!!!!」

… the thing that got carried along with the wind smashed into it, turning it into rubble in an instant.

Flying in in such an overly flashy way, Sakamaki Izayoi smashed his fist into the Labyrinth’s ground in order to break his fall, and as miraculously as it may sound, he managed to pull it off.

Although the bull heads were able to regenerate from every attack, it would definitely take them much more time to do so if they were to be smashed into tiny pieces. Regrettably, Homura got smacked in the head by one of the stray fragment, which caused him to see the stars before his eyes, and when he shook them off of his field of view, the thing that the saw before him was…

「Big Bro Iza?! W-What are you doing here?! And more importantly, what’s wrong with you appearing at the perfect time again just like the last time?! Are you stalking me or something?!」

「Like I would ever do that when I literally have a million better things to do! Look, long story short: some shit happened, so now I am here. We will talk about it some other time!」

The two of them quarreled with one another as if they were back to the good old days again, but this brief respite did not last long. While she was grateful for the appearance of the sudden reinforcements, she called out to Izayoi:

「Izayo… uhm, I mean, Homura-senpai’s Big Brother! Now that you’re here, please run towards the Special Guest Wagon with us, we can get inside from one of the windows there!」

「Haaaah?」

Izayoi looked at Ayato with a displeased face. Looking at her face more closely, he couldn’t shake off the feeling that he has seen her somewhere before already.

(Judging by her appearance, she must be younger than Homura, but she’s probably as student just like him, same grade or a grade lower…It happened as he was thinking such thoughts. The moment when he saw her weapon, he looked at her again with a face painted with shock.

「Wait a second… that Linked Sword…」

「Ugh, can’t you leave the talk for later when we will finally be safe? You can? Great, now shut up and run!」

Ayato yelled at him while dashing towards the Special Guest Wagon at high speed, but deep down inside she hysterically cried out: OhMyGod, I got found out by the one person I didn’t want to get found out the most! WHYYYYYY?!!!! But it was too late for regrets now, because the defenses of 『Dun Scaith』 were already halfway through being deployed.

Still slightly confused about this whole situation Izayoi held onto Homura’s shoulder as the two of them followed closely behind her.
