Last Embryo Volume 6 Chapter 1 Part 10

Anyone who has spent at least a few years in Little Garden was bound to happen upon that name sooner or later. Out of all the famous personalities in Little Garden, Sun Wukong of the Chinease mythology and Prithvi Mata, The Earth’s Mother Goddess from Indian mythologies would be two examples of Half Celestial Star Spirits possessing the Blue Star Authority, but they are not the only ones, not by a long shot. The first thing that has to be made clear should be this though: judging purely by the name, most people assume that since they are called Half Celestial Star Spirits, that makes them incomplete, or immature Celestial Spirits, but that is not the case at all. Despite them being called 「Half」 Celestial Star Spirits. . . they are actually hybrids of Celestial Star Spirits and Divine Spirits , which essentially makes them the strongest of the mixed species to be found in Little Garden.

「T-The strongest mixed race. . . ?!」

「Yes. As shocking as that might sound, that is the truth about them. Usually, the children born from the union of a Celestial Star Spirit and a Divine Spirit would always be born as Divine Spirits themselves, but Half Celestial Star Spirits are being that are different from that still.」

「. . . Huh? W-Wait a minute. So when the Celestial Star Spirit and a Divine Spirit have a child, the traits that it is going to inherit will always be that of the Divine Spirit, and not the Celestial Star Spirit?」

Tokuteru gave a nod of confirmation, which caused You to be greatly surprised. She would never have expected that Celestial Star Spirits, the species ranked as number one in terms of power in Little Garden, are going to have such a blatant and obvious weakness.

「Let us continue on with the story, okay? In order for a Half Celestial Spirit to be born, there are certain conditions that have to be met first. They are not something as simple as being born from a union of a Celestial Star Spirit and a Divine Spirit, but rather, they are beings born from the stars and gods themselves. In other words, their birth is essentially similar to the birth of a Cosmology.」

To sum it up briefly, Half Celestial Star Spirits are beings that are born when a foundation that connects the material world with the world of myths is given a personality and achieves two attributes instead of just one: the Divine Spirit one and the Celestial Spirit one.

「That is why there are many Half Celestial Star Spirits that use the myth of The Earth’s Mother Goddess as their foundation, because using her for that purpose is considerably easier due to how many myths, legends and theories there are about her. In that sense, I guess it would make Sun Wukong from Chinease mythology someone special . . . no, to be precise, Chinease mythology should not be called a mythology, but rather the dragon biography. . . . but maybe we should not be delving that deep into it, because once we start, there is literally going to be no end to it.」

Tokuteru placed his hand on his waist, looking somewhat troubled. . . but then You immediately raised her right hand into the air in order to speak what was on her mind before he would embark on yet another lecture.

「Uhm, that much information should be enough for me right now. To put it in the simplest terms possible: Half Celestial Star Spirits are the same as the most powerful species in the world, or in some cases even more troublesome.」

「W-Well, yes. That is an accurate, if a little bit crude simplification. . . 」

「I see. . . okay then, this next question is going to be my last. . .」

While You was saying that, there was a sharp gleam in her eyes.

「Mr. Indra. . . . do you know anything about the monster known as {The Youngest Child of Gaia}?」

「. . . ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ? ? ? ? ? ?」

「It was something that 「The King of Murderous Species」 had said while he was possessing that Krishna guy. That the entirety of The Lost Continent of Atlantis is made from the corpse of {The Youngest Child of Gaia}. Can you tell us something more about that?」

You’s question was spoken with her usual expression and tone of voice, but her eyes were focused on Tokuteru the entire time, and they were looking at him like a bird of prey who waited for his prey to make the slightest mistake before diving in for the kill. . . but Tokuteru only shook his head with a bitter expression.

「I am very sorry, but I cannot tell you anything about it even if I wanted to, because it it related to the mystery that makes the core of the current Gift Game.」

「Apology not accepted. I demand you to answer me not as a Player who is asking an Organizer, but as a Floor Master od the East Side.」

The heat and sharpness of emotions were slowly disappearing from You’s eyes. Now that she was older and more experienced than before she learned not to be as prone to emotional outbursts like she was before, but that does not mean that she would not be acting in a cold, calculating or even ruthless manner if somebody angered her or tried to deceive her. And the coldness with which she was looking at Tokuteru conveyed a clear message:

Right now, she was really, really angry at him.

You continued to glare at Tokuteru while doing her best to keep her anger towards him contained.

「You know something? I. . . because my father liked Greek mythology so much, he was always telling me stories about it, and thanks to that, I happen to have a pretty good understanding of both Greek legends and folklore as well as the knowledge of various mythical beasts present in that mythology. That is why I know that, just like 「The King of Murderous Species」 said, Gaia is considered to be Greek mythology’s Earth’s Mother Goddess, right? Right. Therefore, 『The Youngest Child of Gaia』 has to be the strongest creature from the Greek mythology.」

Even when faced with all those words from You, Tokuteru still did not answered her. Perhaps he was really telling the truth and he could not talk about that topic at all under some kind of spell or verbal restraint placed upon him, but whatever the case might have been, id did not really mattered to You all that much, but the anguished look on his ace was all the confirmation that she needed.

Seeing You grill Indra so much in her silent anger, Asuka asked her a question while feeling genuinely terrified of her.

「Uhm, M-Miss Kasukabe . . . ? About that monster you just mentioned. . . 」

「I am sorry Asuka, but I would need you to keep quiet for just a while longer, okay? I am taking care of a very important business as Floor Master right now and it requires my full, undivided attention.」

You replied to Asuka without even glancing in her direction, keeping her eyes on Tokuteru the entire time. That person who was in front of Asuka right now was not the Kasukabe You that she knew as her friend and a comrade form the 『No Name』 Community, but Kasukabe You The Floor Master, a face of You that Asuka, who was away from the Community for two years now, has never seen before. She could not put it into words clearly, but she felt like this new You she was looking at now had an Aura of a true leader about her.
