Last Embryo Volume 6 Chapter 1 Part 3
「Well, if I remember correctly, then surely it must have been something along the lines of. . . . . . . . 」
But before You was able to tell them exactly what Shiroyasha’s words were, the Giant Spirit Train whistled once more and came to a stop on the coast of a nearby beach, causing You’s words to die down among the cacophony of loud sounds that accompanied it.
「Goodness gracious, talk about a bad timing for that whistle. Sorry, Miss Kasukabe, but what were you saying just now?」
「. . . . no, it is okay, we can always talk about it later. For the time being, we should hear what Indra is going to have to say about this whole situation.」
Izayoi did not know why did the Giant Spirit Train suddenly decided to stray from its intended course and stop on the ground like it did just now, but since it has done so at the moment of the conclusion of their battle against Krishna, then it probably had something to do with that. And if Tokuteru was on that train, then maybe he was finally going to explain what the hell was going on to them, or at the very least Izayoi hoped that this was going to be the case.
When the entrance to the Giant Spirit train begun to open, everyone present held their breaths in anticipation of who was going to be the Organizer or Investor that would welcome them aboard, but what they saw instead of one of the big shots related to The 2nd War for the Sun’s Authority. . .was a pair of lively pink rabbit ears that darted through the door the moment they were fully opened and went straight for Asuka.
「Miss Asuka! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! It has been such a long time sine we last seen each other! ! ! ! !」
Kuro Usagi shouted happily and hugged Asuka tightly while jumping around in joy. Seeing her for the first time in a few years, Asuka was surprised, but nevertheless she answered her hug in kind. Moreover. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
「K. . . . . Kuro Usagi? ! ! ! ! Is that really you? ! ! ! What happened to you!? What is up with that ridiculously cute form of yours? ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !」
「Fufufu~~~! A lot of things has happened since Miss Asuka went on her own way, and now it just so happens that I am one of the judges for The 2nd War for the Sun’s Authority! Miss Asuka, you might have been through a lot and made quite a name for yourself in the world, but this Kuro Usagi right here was not wasting her time sitting idly by so that I could also have something to boast about during our next inevitable meeting!」
Kuro Usagi sang her own praises while rejoicing in her reunion with Asuka.
The race created by Indra that Kuro Usagi belonged to: The Moon Rabbits, also known as 「The Highborn of Little Garden」or 「Little Garden’s Asistocracy」has been depicted as a tough indomitable and ever loyal symbol of dedication. As for Kuro Usagi herself, she was currently the last one of her kind who possessed many powerful abilities and Gifts, including Indra’s Sun Armor and The Spear of Indra, {Brahmastra Replica}, but since she decided to temporarily lend it to Izayoi so that he could fulfill his mission, a part of her own Divinity, which was the highest among all the Moon Rabbits when they were still around, has been shaved off, resulting in her current young appearance.
Asuka was nodding to her words with a smile while scratching and ruffling her ears.
「Although I might be working independently from the rest of the {No Name} for the time being, the preparations for the establishment of my own Community should be finished in the very near future, and then we will be able to form an official alliance between our Communities, and once that happens, we will be able to participate in the Gift Games together once more!」
「YES! Have you already decided where your headquarters is going to be located?」
「Not yet, because I cannot seem to find any kind of land that would seem suitable enough for me. However, about three months ago, I have been invited by the representatives of both North and South Side to become their 「Floor Master」, so I am considering these two as my potions now. . . . . 」
「*Ekhem!*」
A man’s cough interrupted Asuka’s further words.
Taken by surprise by it, Kuro Usagi jumped up in shock as her ears perked up, and when she noticed who was the source of that voice she immediately went back to him while correcting her posture.
「I-I am so sorry for being disrespectful, Lord Taishakuten! It is just that I happened to run upon my old acquaintances, so I just. . . 」
「Do not worry about that, I do not mind that at all. If it was not for your help, I would have had a pretty rough time after all. Let us get the announcements out of the way first, and after that, you will be free to talk to them as much as you want as long as it will not impact your schedule in any negative way. Sounds good?」
「YES! ! ! Of course it does!」
Kuro Usagi agreed to Indra’s suggestion with a big smile on her face.
So apparently Tokuteru did have a reason for coming down here to Atlantis other than to meet with Izayoi. Everyone who was gathered at the shore now looked at each other and then tilted their heads to the sides in puzzlement. . .until their Geass Rolls materialized themselves on their own and began to shine with a brilliant light.
『Uhm. . . . . . . . testing, testing. . . . . . .. one, two, three, one, two, three. . . . . okay, everything seems to be in working order, so we can start. *Ekhem!* To all of the participating Players, may I have your attention please? We are going to start the first official 2nd War for the Sun’s Authority Progress Report, so all the Players who are currently exploring ad the six groups engaged in battle are ordered to make a ceasefire and listen carefully!』
Kuro Usagi made a brief pause, and during that short interval, new letters and words began to appear on the Geass Rolls, reflecting everything that she was saying in real time, so Izayoi used that opportunity to have a glance at You’s Geass Roll since she was the one who stood the closest to him now, and then he asked her:
「Say, Kasukabe. . . . what the hell is that 2nd War for the Sun’s Authority Progress Report that Kuro Usagi is talking about?」
「Basically, it is supposed to be a periodical thing during which the progress of the currently ongoing Gift Game is going to be publicly announced. If you manage to fulfil all of the conditions required for doing so, then that Progress Report period is going to be the timeframe during which you can escape off the continent.」
「Oh really?」
Izayoi raised a surprised voice. If there is actually a way to 「escape off the continent」, then it probably means that there is a possible scenario in which the Players cannot continue the Game for some reason, and that escape mechanism is meant for them so that they could not be staying in The Lost Continent of Atlantis, which is like a game board for this current Gift Game, when they no longer had any rights to be there. Whether the fierce individuals who got accepted as participants in the 2nd War for the Sun’s Authority needed such an emergency escape mechanism in the first place was another question entirely.
(Or maybe. . . . maybe it got implemented because there is a possibility that the Game might not be cleared at all?)
