Last Embryo Volume 6 Chapter 1 Part 7

「For that exact reason, I would very much like to solve the mystery of this first round of the War as soon as possible. Just like Homura said, there has to be someone among all the other Players taking part in it who is closely related to the latest incidents that happened in The Outer World. So, whatever you have to say to us, you can relate it while my body is being healed, right? I believe that this would be the most cost-efficient thing to do if we want to wrap this Gift Game us as soon as possible, would you not agree?」

「. . . I see. So that is your opinion and the approach that you have decided to take.」

So Izayoi’s entire plan was build around the assumption that he would take a short rest to recouperate from the injuries that he has sustained and then it would be back to the business as usual for him, which would be going on a rampage. Normally that would not be too much of a problem, since every other person who would have sustained injuries as severe as Izayoi did in the battle against Krishna would simply be forcefully confined into the bed in the sick bay so that they could recover properly without endangering themselves any further, but Izayoi had both the strength and the mental fortitude to follow through with that threat of his. He deliberately stated that he wanted to get to the bottom of the mystery of The Lost Continent of Atlantis as soon as possible, so now that he has voiced his intention of doing so out loud, it is entirely possible that this is what he is going to do regardless of everyone else around him, and quite possibly while disregarding his own well-being in the process.

(Good Heavens. . . I swear, this kid is going to run me into an early grave with that attitude of his.)

With a bitter smile on his face, Tokuteru was considering what would be the best thing to do here. As he was doing that, Homura and the others had their own small brainstorming session where they debated about things such as 「Should Izayoi rest for an entire week before going back into battle (That seemed to be the option that Homura himself was in favor of) or should it just be for a maximum of two or three days?」and he even caught Homura saying things like 「And as for you, Tokuteru, do not think for even a second that we are going to let the matter of those five hundred million yen go so easily. You are going to gve it back to me, every last yen.」 in the middle of it, and others seemed to have more or less the same opinions on the matter. That was when Tokuteru fully realized that even tough he might be Indra, The Strongest God of War in the Indian Mythology and {No Name’s} investor as the leader of {The Twelve Devas}. . . there was really nothing that he could to do stop or control these guys anymore. And if he were to force those who were still burning with such an intense will to go on and continue to fight, then he would no longer be able to even call himself with those titles that he was so proud of, because he would be nothing more but the worst sort of tyrant.

If there was anyone who could have stopped Izayoi now, no, if there was anyone who Izayoi might have actually listened to, then surely that would have to be. . .

「Kasukabe You. As the leader of {No Name}, what is your opinion on allowing Sakamaki Izayoi to continue fighting?」

「Who? Me?」

Tokuteru’s eyes focused on You, and everybody else followed him shortly. Come to think of it, he was right with what he intended to pull off here. Kasukabe You is the current Leader of {No Name} Community, so from a technical standpoint, she was Izayoi’s superior who could give orders and instructions to him, and more importantly, when she met up with him yesterday, she was the one who was insisting that he should be resting for at least three days after he overexerted himself during his fight with Heracles, so you would think that with that, this matter should have been pretty much settled already.

Without showing any expression in particular on her face, You approached Izayoi and tilted her head to the side before asking him:

「Uhm, so. . . . what are you going to do, Izyaoi? Do you intend to continue fighting, even with your body in such a sorry state?」

「Of course not! I just told you that I intended to listen to what Mr. Strongest God of war had to say while resting, did I not? I know the limits of my body better tha anyone else, and I am definitely not suicidal.」

Izayoi said while waving his hands around. Just like he told You just now, he knew perfectly well that his body needed to rest before he could continue his participation in the Gift Game in Atlantis. He was the type of person who loved battling against strong opponents more than anything else, but even to him, fighting anyone with his body in its current sate would be unthinkable. However, that does not mean that he would just quietly sit down and enjoyed some R&R while everybody else continued to do their best in their own ways. He had his reputation as a problem child to upkeep, and that means that he should always be right where the heat of the action was, even if it meant that he would be facing a great deal of additional difficulties because of it.

For a moment, You had a pretty nostalgic look on her face before laughing a little and taking a step forward to declare:

「Izayoi. We are all going to listen to what Indra has to say, so you will be able to have your rest exactly like you wanted, and then you are going to have a nice long rest in addition to that. After all, you are so fatigued that you can barely move your head around, right? So if you will not eat a lot and then sleep a lot, it is going to take that much more time for your injuries to fully heal, so whether you like it or not, you need to take that into account.」

「. . . . Huh? And what makes you think that I am just going to accept what you are saying and go along with it? Because personally, I see no need for any kind of long rest at . . . 」

It was exactly at that moment.

As soon as Izayoi gave You a suspicious look wondering about why was she getting closer and closer to him with an overly-friendly smile on his face, she took yet another step forward and drove her fist deep into his solar plexus before he even had the chance to blink or open his mouth agape in bewilderment.

「Ghh. . . . khaaa . . . ? ? ? ! ! !」

「M-Miss Kasukabe?!」

Asuka raised a genuinely startled voice. Meanwhile, You’s fist made a pretty unpleasant sound, almost as if it was breaking bones and gauging out the flesh as it penetrated Izayoi’s body pretty deeply. As much as Izayoi wanted to do something about it, her surprise attack has been executed so unexpectedly and with such lightning speed that he did not even get the chance to get really angry at her before losing consciousness right where he stood. However, it was not You’s punch that caused him to do that. No, You’s attack was pretty strong, it it was nothing but a catalyst that was supposed to made Izayoi realize just how deep and severe his injuries really were, and he understood that when it was already too late.
