Last embryo Volume 6 Chapter 3 Part 3
(If you have the ability to collect, process and hide information, then it is basically the same as if you had acquired the ability to predict the future. And she not only has all of those at her disposal, but she can also execute all of them flawlessly.)
And that is exactly what made Kudou Ayato such a scary opponent to fight against. The fact that she could utilize all of the skills that Shen Gongbao just listed. . . . . . . . . . . . without using any kind of Gifts that would support her in doing so at all. That she was capable to pull something like that off with just her own abilities alone.
(What she has is neither something that has been given to her as a result of the achievements that she managed to accomplish, or a Gift Grated to her by one of the Gods. She is fighting against the two of us head on, without relying on any tricks or illusions.)
It can be said that when it comes to her own martial arts, Ayato has reached their peak, but not because they have been bestowed upon her by the Gods. It can be said that her martial arts have reached the realm that would usually be reserved only for the Gods and beings that are extremely close to them while she herself has remained an ordinary human, and such martial arts are generally referred to as The Martial Arts of The Gods, Or Godly Martial Arts, and the fact that Ayato managed to reach such a level was only a testament of how talented of a fighter she actually is. And moreover. . . .
(Those who managed to reach the level of Godly Martial Arts also acquire a pseudo self-observation ability and the level of their Divinity rises because of the increase in the density of their existence probability parameter, and it even becomes possible for such individuals to exceed the maximum numbers of humanity’s Limit Value. . . .and that would mean that right now she has to be on the same level of power as a genuine Divinity holder. . . .!)
Unlike her former twin sister, Asuka, Kudou Ayato has already been cut off from the source of Divinity that was granted to her in her previous life by her bloodline, and now the only source of her Divinity for her current reincarnation laid almost entirely in her martial arts. Although the Queen had shared some of her own Divinity with her, it was only a small amount needed for the purpose of being a trigger the continued verification of her existence. But coming back to the martial arts utilized by Ayato, the only possible way for someone to defeat them would be to use a large scale destructive Gift or ability or prepare a defense so strong that it could not be broken through by literally anything.
It would have been an entirely different story if this cage of segmented blades that Byakko and Shen Gongbao were currently trapped in was something created through magical means. If that was the case, then Byakko would have been able to easily handle them by simply breathing at them or slashing them with his claws, but since Ayato was not using any kinds of Gifts, magic or sage arts to operate her Serpens Scorpius. She was doing so by utilizing nothing else but her own physical abilities. Just like it was with their previous battle on top of the Giant Spirit Train, she was just too incompatible with them. It can even be said that for Shen Gongbao and Byakko, Kudou Ayato was the worst kind of opponent possible.
『Shen Gongbao, do I even need to remind you that you were the one who wanted a rematch with this girl so badly that you just could not help yourself? So if you wanted it so much, then why do you not try doing something on your own instead of relying on my feet to save your own hide all the time?!』
「If I could have done something on my own then I would have done that ages ago, you fucking old, overgrown furball! Now shut the hell up and try to close the distance between us so that I could actually take a swing at this bitch!」
Shen Gongbao swung her fiery spear in a circular fashion and created a flaming whirlpool by combining the fire generated by her spear with the wind from her Paopei. While making sure that none of the flames generated by Shen Gongbao would hurt him, Byakko managed to narrowly escape the cage of segmented blades and then dashed straight towards Ayato. It might sound ironic, but for him, dealing with Ayato’s attacks was really more difficult than erasing the flames from the raging vortex of fire and wind that his 「partner」 continuously generated, and so he would like to bring this battle to a close as much as Shen Gongbao, who this time kept a close watch on both Ayato and her movements, and actually managed to deflect a number of her strikes with the vivid movements of her own spear-holding hands, which caused Ayato to be genuinely amazed at how fast she could adapt to her flurry of attacks now that they actually managed to close the distance between them and she had her vortex of flaming wind to support her and act as their makeshift shield.
(Good, it is working. Even though they might be incredibly fast, weapons such as the segmented sword-whips will not be able to reach their target if they are going to be continuously blown away by the sheer force of the wind and the flames!)
The maximum range of that segmented blade of hers should be around twenty meters, but it would seem that in order to turn that sword of hers into a cage that would entrap her enemies within itself she would have to close the distance to approximately five meters, and just like Byakko did just now, it should technically be possible to break free from that cage of blades if enough of the piercing force that moved faster than the blades could fly around was applied to it. It was a pretty clever strategy that definitely might have worked against her. . . . . if only Ayato did not anticipate something like that happening the moment when Shen Gongabo first took out her fiery spear. And since she has already expected that to happen, she knew exactly what kind of preventive measures she had to take against it.
While remaining perfectly calm the entire time, Ayato took a step backwards and swung her sword-whip exactly three time while increasing its momentum by using the movements of her entire body as a propelling spring, directing the blades of her weapon to collide with the vortex of the fiery wind and scatter it, but that was not the end of Ayato’s counterstrategy. She waited for the moment when the wind end the flames would enclose themselves around Serpens Scorpius’s blades. . . . and then she ordered it to continue coiling around Shen Gongbao and Byakko at an even greater speed.
If just a moment before Serpens Scorpius was like a snake biting at its prey with its razor-sharp fangs, right now it has turned itself into a flaming snake that absorbed the extreme heat of fire from Shen Gongbao’s spear and roasted both her and Byakko with every slash. Unable to bear with this combined assault for much longer, Byakko clicked his tongue in irritation and did the only sensible thing that was to be done here if he did not want to be subjected to the onslaught of slashes that burned his body to the bone with even the slightest scratch: he inhaled all of the flames into his belly to get rid of them and distanced himself from Ayato once more . . . but that was another one of their moves that Ayato was simply waiting to exploit.
Slamming her weapon against the ground as hard as she could, she caused the embers that still remained on the blades of her sword-whip to turn into a cloud of dust that obstructed Shen Gongbao’s and Byakko’s field of view completely, making them lose sight of Ayato.
