Last Embryo Volume 6 Chapter 4 Part 5
For as long as them being a Host Master is confirmed on the Geass Rolls of their Gift Game.」
「I-I see. . . . . I never would have thought that there will be something for me to learn from this discussion as well!」
Kuro Usagi began to enthusiastically take notes in her notepad (where she got it from was a complete mystery) while her ears continued to stretch themselves towards the sky with an *USAAA!!!* sound. Happy with having yet another attentive listener for his words, Homura spined the pen he was holding in his fingers and then turned his face back towards Tokuteru.
The purpose of creating「Host Master Authorities」based on various natural disasters and celestial laws for the Divine Spirits and other 「Host Masters」is to make these universal happenings and laws into a wedge, but at the same time it is to make it more convenient for the incarnations of the Gods and their Avatars to appear. Of all the forces and natural disasters present in the Outer World, thunder and lightning would be the most prominent examples of that. And according to Homura’s words, bumping the probability of existence to almost one hundred percent is the ultimate goal to be achieved by the union of the inner and the outer universe, and a true meaning of the liberation of Divinity.
「I am truly glad that I decided to have this talk with you, Tokuteru. If you did not explain all those things to me, then the outline of this world would have stayed pretty much hazy and unreadable to me. Granted, there are still things that I wish to understand in more detail, but without your information, I would have remained as clueless as I was the day I was first transported here. And also, well. . . . . when I listened to you talking about all those things, it. . . . . . . . . it really helped to drive in the point that you really are Indra. If you have told me about it under any other circumstances I would have most likely not believe you, but now. . . . . . . . it all makes too much sense.」
「Yes, well. . . . . . . if it means anything, I am sorry for hiding it from you for so long, but it was necessary on my part.」
「No, you have nothing to apologize for, and I am not angry, because I understand very well why you had to keep your true identity hidden from us. And besides, your story more than convinced me that everything you have been telling us was true, and I have to say that I am even impressed with you. Yeah, I am glad that of all the people, it was you who turned out to be Indra.」
For whatever reason, Homura begun to nod his head deeply.
While quantum mechanics and everything related to it might have sounded like incomprehensible gibberish to most people, it was actually one of Homura’s specialties, and he was more than thrilled when he realized that what he has put so much time and effort into learning back in the Outer World could now be utilized to help him solve some of the mysteries surrounding Little Garden.
「So, Tokuteru, could you tell me about {Origin} Candidates in greater detail?」
「{Origin} Candidates, huh? When it comes to them, it is not that pretty much every human can become one of them, but you probably arrived at such a conclusion yourself already. What they do need, however, is a set of some essential abilities without which becoming an {Origin Candidate} would be impossible.」
「And those abilities are. . . . .?」
「First, they need to have the probability of their existence at one hundred percent. That is the most essential requirement, without which everything else becomes irrelevant. Second, they need to posses the ability to be able to interfere with the past, present and the future from outside of the flow of time. And third, they need to have an extremely high influence over the world in some way. There are some other things that might be required for them, but among all of them, the three that I have just listed could be considered to be essentials among essentials. Well, to delve even deeper into this, number one and number three are more important than number two, because while definitely handy, number two is not always necessary or possible to use in practice and at times it might be possible to substitute with other things, depending on the circumstances. . . . . okay, good. If all of what you said turns out to be true, then this proves two things: that there might be more than one way to save the world, and that this might be our best chance at saving it, so we might as well use this method.」
After going so far in their discussion in such a short time, Tokuteru could not help it but to cross his hands on his chest and admire Homura’s progress, because even he did not expect that they will already be discussing the possible ways of saving mankind from the grim prospects of its incoming destruction. They started their discussion from Little Garden and its rules, then they naturally moved from that to the topic of the Gods and Divine Spirits, and as a result of that, they came to the conclusion that there might be no other way other than humanity coming up with the solution themselves, and that whatever they come up with, it needs to be large enough in scale to be projected onto the entirety of The Outer World.
(Fate always was, is and will be determined by the volume of the world. The reason why only up to three Divine Spirits are allowed to exist in the Outer World at any given moment is because in the world where the probability of existence of Divine Spirits is naturally low is because their very beings can change the fabric of reality and the product of fate along with it, which might result in the occurrence of a natural disaster of an unprecedented scale that should never be allowed to happen.)
However, there was one mistake in the line of Homura’s reasoning. He assumed that two universes can exist simultaneously: the one where Gods can interfere, and the one in which Gods cannot interfere, and while the first part was correct, the second one required some clarification.
The correct explanation would be that the second universe that exist simultaneously with the first one is not the one where the Gods cannot interfere, but rather that, but the one in which it would be meaningless to interfere. To put it simply, it would be a world in which it would be highly likely that the surplus of power used by the Gods to perform their miracles would be so big that it would cause a rebound, leading to the same catastrophic ending that they were doing their best to avoid.
And even if it was possible for the Divine Spirits to save the world by achieving the perfectly equal distribution of their Godly powers throughout it, then only one of the infinite amounts of parallel worlds that are in existence would end up getting saved as a result. That is why in order to save all of the worlds that are observed by Little Garden and even more of those that it does not ever dare to observe, it is necessary for humanity to create enough amounts of fate for them to save themselves with their own hands, without relying on the Gods’ help, thinking that they are going to be the one who are going to do all of the heavy lifting for them.
And in order to change the product of fate, it is necessary to release the heat of the soul from the inner universe all the way to the outer universe . . . . and in order for that to happen, a truly miraculous power was necessary, the kind that only the intelligent life is capable of producing. So far, two major powers have emerged in order to stop the process of spreading of the heat of the soul: 『Absolute Evil』 Azi-Dahaka and 『Closed-off World』 Dystopia, two of the most powerful Demon Lords that Little Garden has ever seen, known as 「The Final Trials of Mankind」and Last Embryos.
