「I am of the exact same opinion. Apparently this battle is no longer about simply defeating the enemy that stands before us.」

He has already made up his mind about what to do. The rest is about whether or not Asterios will be able to master the lightning of Keraunos and use it properly as a king. But there was still one thing that Izayoi was wondering about.

(When Alma was telling us about the myths of the past, she didn’t say what was the cause of the war that Gaia waged with the other Gods. Perhaps she concealed that information from us on purpose?)

Initially, Earth’s Mother Goddess Gaia was full of hope regarding the future of mankind, Gods and stars, so if they could just figure out what caused her to have such a sudden change of mind, then maybe they’re going to have a real chance at saving the Outer World once and for all. First thing that they can do about it is to ask Alma about it when this battle is going to be over.

Then, right as the conversation was finished and all of the Players were about to go their separate ways to prepare for the incoming operation…

A sudden earthquake could be felt all throughout the underground fortress, soon to be followed by the screams of the native warriors.

「The giants! The giants have found us!」

「All battle-capable warriors! Gather at the west gate!」

「If the west gate is destroyed, they will be able to invade the residential area! While the Players waiting outside are buying time, let the residents escape!!」

Warriors in cow masks were running through with ghastly appearances. The Players raised their fighting spirit all at once and got ready for battle.

Izayoi immediately looked outside.

「…It seems they were speaking the truth. It seems that the other party just couldn’t wait.」

「If it’s a fight they want, then a fight they shall get! All the warriors living in Atlantis will move to the west gate as soon as they are ready! It’s going to be a full-scale confrontation!」

The natives were shouting their encouragements loudly. Even Alma put her hand on her waist and smiled fearlessly.

「Master. Give me your instructions immediately. No matter what the era, whoever is going to strike against them first is bound to score the most credit for themselves.」

When Heracles finished shouting commands and left the training ground, some of the Players followed right in his footsteps.

Sitting besides Heracles, Izayoi laughed provocatively.

「By the way, oh great hero… is it true that you lost to the Demon Lord working for the enemy?」

「I won’t deny it. That thing he was using, the… B.D.A … turned out to be much more fearsome than I could have ever imagined.」

Demon Lord Typhon was also using the B.D.A, so Izayoi couldn’t help but feel that it was a development aimed specifically towards him… and the closer they were getting to the end of the world, the more seeds of 『Last Embryos』were beginning to sprout.

That premonition Izayoi had made him believe that 『Last Embryos』, 『God Slayers』and 『The Absolute Evil』were all connected with one another.

The sudden appearance of the two was so surprising that Izayoi actually stopped in his tracks. No, when he actually took a closer look, there was yet another figure together with them.

Saigo Homura, who got forward while being pushed by Suzuka handed Izayoi the headphones that he was holding in his hand. He also had impressively massive dark bags under his eyes.

「…..??? Homura?」

「… It was barely, but I finally made it! A new and improved B.D.A that I made in my own style!」

Surprised, Izayoi received the headphones from Homura. Homura also handed him a small, rolled-up piece of parchment and glared at Izayoi with heavy-sleep deprived eyes.

「Iza-nii, has Asterios informed you about the incarnation of 「The Youngest Child of Gaia」?」

「Yeah. We heard about it just moments ago.」

「…. I see.」
He closed his eyes and grit his back teeth with regret. It would seem that Homura has already been consulted by Asterios in regards to this matter, since he was probably thinking that Homura, who can be said to be a leading expert on the subject of Star Particle Bodies research, would know something more about it.

As the tremors outside only grew stronger with each passing minute, Homura stared Izayoi directly in the eyes.

「I believe in you, Iza-nii. So even if the end result is going to be the worst possible one… I want you to see the truth with your own eyes.」

「Got it.」

「All of the functions of that B.D.A are written on that parchment. I’ll leave the rest to you now….」

Without finishing what he wanted to say, Homura fainted and fell down onto the floor. The exhaustion probably caught up to him and he fell asleep.

After all, building and assembling of this new B.D.A for Izayoi took him whole five days without sleep or rest. Smiling wryly at how unreasonable that was of him, Izayoi took off his cat-eared headphones and tossed them at Suzuka.
