A deformed scream of pure terror escaped the transformed man’s mouth, and those were the last human-sounding words that he spoke. Initially the thing that he had become could be described as a giant spider, but when his transformation was finally complete, the only way he could possibly be described was an inderscribable alien monster.

Asuka was speechless at the tragedy that took place right in front of her, and Alma glared at Al-chan while biting her teeth. Misha and Connla are dropped the pretenses and completely bared their hostility, ready to attack at a moment’s notice.

Al-chan wiped the dust that remained from the hand that had touched her off her shoulder, and stared at the natives with the eyes that didn’t show any emotion.

In front of the tragedy where the natives were screaming as they were being transformed into monsters one after another, Kudou Asuka reached her boiling point in an instant.

「W-What do you think you’re doing, you filthy wretch?!」

She knew she had to run, but anger completely took a hold of her. Considering the difference in abilities between her and the enemy, what she was about to do could only be considered as a reckless suicide attack, but Asuka was not the kind of person who can tolerate such acts of cruelty happening in front of her eyes.

Alma prepared herself for the honorable, but losing clash and released her Divinity… but in an instant, Al-chan appeared right next to Alma without her even noticing.

Asuka closed the distance between them and instantly brought her Ama no Murakumo no Tsurugi down on Al-chan, but she stopped her slash with just two of her fingers.

「I am not going to be your opponent, reddie. Your opponents are waiting for you over there.」

She grabbed Asuka’s wrist and threw her at the transformed natives.

That might have been a simple action for her, but to Asuka who was thrown into the air it was a deadly move since she was on the receiving end of that throw, and even though it was not a very fast throw, its speed was not a passive one either.

Asuka didn’t even have the time to properly process what was happening around her while she flew through the air, but thankfully Connla was able to catch her before she hit the ground. Regrettably, the natives who lost control over their bodies as they were turned into monsters attacked the two of them almost right away without giving them even a single moment to catch their breaths.

「…. I’m sorry!」

Asuka immediately pulled out her Ama no Murakumo no Tsurugi and brought it down onto the transformed native that was the closest to her, tearing him apart. But instead of outright killing him, she saw that the native-turned-monster became separated from his monstrous parts, and shortly after he returned to his proper, human form.

When the surprised Misha took care of the natives, she looked as if she had little breath left in her. Still, she looked at Asuka as if she just saw something she couldn’t believe.

(Using the authority of her sword, she cut the monstrous parts from that man along with that girl’s Divinity… so this is the power held by the rumored Ama no Murakumo no Tsurugi?)

Misha thought that they will have no other choice but to kill the natives changed into monsters, but now that they have Asuka’s power on their side, it’s going to be a totally different story, so Misha immediately shouted towards Connla:

Reluctantly, Connla put away the two spears and took out two segmented swords instead. But before Asuka could get the chance to be surprised by his peculiar choice of armaments, Connla bared his canine-like teeth and proceeded with the attack.

One of his segmented swords attacked the enemies just like Serpens Scorpius Sword Flash, while the other extended its blades and attacked them from above just like a bird of prey. The two curved lines that they were making ran at high speed as if they were compensating for each other’s blind spots, cutting only the tendons of the natives one after another without causing them any real harm.

(I know that he’s using two segmented swords instead of one… but this way of fighting looks almost like…)

At first glance, Connla’s fighting style looks almost identical to the one that Ayato was using, but there was something different about its underlying foundation.

Asuka thought about it as she observed as the two segmented swords worked with one another in order finish off the enemies around them. If these two segmented swords can cooperate with one another to compensate for each other’s blind spots and weaknesses, then that means there’s no need to switch weapons to different ones whenever the distance between them and the enemies is changing.

The deadly double combination of Serpens Scorpius sword Flash and a bird of prey continued to cut through the changed natives almost as if it was proud of never letting any of them come close to their wielder. Their swiftness was not giving them any opportunity to move or attack, taking away and sealing their freedom of movement one after another.

When Asuka was at a complete loss for words at the spectacle before her, Connla yelled at her in frustration.
「Hey, now is not the best time to be daydreaming, miss! It’s your job to finish these guys off properly, remember?!」

「Ah, y-yes, of course! Leave the rest to me!」

Brought back to reality by Connla’s words, Asuka shook her head and fixed her posture with Ama no Murakumo no Tsurugi, intending to start the cleanup process from the natives nearest to her who have been robbed of the ability to move. Although most of them have been knocked unconscious by now, their lives were not in any kind of immediate danger, so once she takes care of them and separates them from their monstrous parts, they should get better soon after some treatment and rest.

Al-chan observes the situation silently, and then she moved her gaze towards the natives who have been returned to their original forms.

(… It is exactly as I thought. Even if this ama no something something or other sword is dangerous, it is not a wound from that sword that is causing 「The Youngest Child of Gaia」to suffer such horrible aftereffects now.)

Al-chan suspected that there was another cause behind Typhon’s current state of being, and if it’s not dealt with immediately, then he might not make it in time.
