Last Embryo Volume 8 Prologue Part 4

The whole body of the man who was facing him swelled with even more anger.

With the rising fighting spirit of the two, the purple smoke gradually cleared, and an explosive atmosphere began to fill the entire bar lounge. The glasses on the tables began to crack, and the glass elements of the lamps was broken to pieces in an instant.

Koryuu spread his arms in a provocative manner and roared:

「Okay, I’ll say it over and over again for you if that’s what you want! Killing your elders, killing your masters, and killing your brothers! Arjuna is guilty of all of those things! What’s more, he’s the despicable 「Oathbreaking Hero」who won the war by making full use of many despicable strategies! Hearing that he is the strongest of the Indian Gods makes me want to laugh so much that it is not even funny anymore! He is more fit to be a Demon Lord covered in blood than a hero!」

At the same time as Koryuu roared, the man’s strong fist pierced his abdominal muscles. While he was dealing the blow, he was looking more like a bloodied demon than a respectable hero.

Kouryuu’s body, which has been forged through a thousand years of intense in submarine volcanoes, would not have succumbed to just any ordinary attack. That was precisely the reason why he provoked hit to strike first, but the man’s actual power surpassed Koryuu’s wildest expectations.

The intense pain that welled up in his guts made him unable to breathe. That one attack showed the man in front of him was not the kind who would overlook any carelessness or gaps in his opponent’s defenses.

Next, Arjuna’s brother grabbed Koryuu’s hair with bloodshot eyes and slammed him against the wall.

「Gah………!」

「Ha! is talking big the only thing that you’re good at, eyepatch-wearing bastard?!」

The man jumped up to him and kicked him away, still launched yet another follow-up attack right after that. His fighting style was more like that of a wild beast than a regular human.

It was pretty obvious by the way he moved that must have mastered a number of martial arts by shedding blood, sweat and tears, but if felt as if he sealed all of them off once his battle with Koryuu started. In short, the quarrel he engaged in made him lose his rational and opt for an emotional kind of struggle.

Ordinarily, no amount of superhuman strength should have worked against Koryuu. It doesn’t matter what kind of a Demigod his opponent would be, a fist of a Demigod is still a fist of a half-human after all, and he is the kind of being who can create small craters by lightly stabbing his fists into mountains and rivers.

However, this man’s fist managed to relentlessly pierce into Koryuu’s body, which proved that this guy possessed exceptional strength.

「S-Second brother….」

Karyo’s eyes blinked in amazement when she realized that the strength of that man’s muscles is not something to be underestimated, and entered a battle stance herself. But once again, Shuten-douji stopped her from intervening.

「It’s okay, just leave them alone. You should know that there’s nothing more uncouth than getting involved in other people’s fights.」

「B-But second brother!」

As they were talking, the other two continued to destroy the bar lounge with loud sounds of broken furniture accompanying them.

In the blink of an eye, the purple smoke cleared up from the entire lounge, leaving only dust and debris scattered around in its place.

Beyond the thick purple smoke, the other spectators noticed the commotion, and instead of putting an end to this fight, they started to get excited to have such a wonderful show as a side dish to their booze.

Shuten-doji, who turned his back onto the entire thing as if he had nothing to do with it grabbed himself a sake cup as well. Karyo’s face turned bright red and she was furious at the cheery and uncaring attitude of her big brother, whom she knew that she could normally rely on to stop such madness.

「Big brother, please stop this! All five of the Bhandava brothers are all well-known heroes! Aren’t you even the least bit worried about your second brother?!?!」

「Why should I be worrying about a simple fight?」

In Shuten-douji’s eyes, Karyou was simply exaggerating.

「B-But…」

「It’s fine, so just sit down, okay? Because well, you know… I don’t know what the heroes of the Bhandava clan are like, but have you already forgotten that Kouryuu is not your average Divine Spirit, but also a Demon Lord?」

As if on cue, Shuten-douji pointed at the man who introduced himself as Arjuna’s older brother as he flew past them, broke through a number of seats and got slammed into the bar counter.

pointed out by Shutendouji in amazement, broke through the seat next to him and was slammed into the bar counter.

「Guh… Ghaaa…!!!」

The man coughed up copius amounts of blood. Fragments of broken sake bottles were scattered everywhere, and the bar counter was also completely soaked with it.

The audience beyond the purple smoke got even more excited at such a dramatic turn of events… but that was not the most important thing here, and also not what Shuten-douji was talking about.

The man was blown away just like Koryuu before, but upon closer inspection, the depths of the wounds that the two of them sustained was simply incomparable. After blowing the man away, Koryuu sneered at the man who was could no longer move while calmly walking towards him as he brushed the dust off his shoulders.

「What, that is all you got? Come on, at least try to put some back into it! Have you run out of steam now, kid? Are you no longer energetic enough to keep fighting?!」

「Y-You fucking bastard…!」

When he noticed that Koryuu was taunting him with a come-and-get-some look, the man glared at him angerly.

If his opponent was just another average Demon Lord, then he would have no problem pummeling them down into a bloody pulp with his superhuman strength that wa enough to level mountains and rivers, but unfortunately for him, his opponent was not just your average Demon Lord.

He is one of the Seven Great Sages, and A four-digit Demon Lord who lived in the four-digit territory of Little Garden, originally, he was the Demon Lord of a realm where the heroes of mythology united and finally fought side by side with him.

「Never thought I’d quarrel with the Demon Lord like that, huh? Just to let you know, I fought against many people stronger than you over the years, and there are even stronger people than myself gathered under the flag of Seiten Taisei.」

「… Seiten Taisei…. Then, you must be one of the Seven Great Sages!」

The man stood up while holding onto his side while Koryuu laughed and gave him a hearty nod.

「You bet I am! One of the Seven Great Sages, Saurian Demon Lord, Koryuu! The one who carved his name in the great war that shook the Chinese continent. I am also known as 「The Great Sage Who Devastates the Seas」!」

Raising his fighting spirit to the max, Koryuu stated his name in order to intimidate his opponent.

It was a rare sight to see Koryuu introducing himself like that, so this was probably his way of showing courtesy to his opponent.

In the past few years, there have been only two heroes capable of damaging Koryuu’s body directly. He therefore decided that he should be given some respect.

If the opponent was a mediocre hero, he would have lost his fighting spirit with just this threat.
But this man…. One of the five Bhandava brothers was by no means an ordinary hero either.

「Heee… now I see. Now I realize why you took such a liking to Arjuna. You do realize that he’s the son of our commander, right?」

「What?」

The smile disappeared from Koryuu’s expression. He couldn’t believe his ears.

Arjuna is a Demigod who was born between Indra and the queen of the Kuru tribe. In other words, the 「Commander」 that the man talked about about should be considered to be Indra, The King of the Gods. And since he called him 「Commander」, then that means that this man is Indra’s subordinate, and there is only one answer when it comes to the martial artists group organized by Indra.

「No way, you… are you an incarnation of one of the 『Twelve Devas』?!」

「That’s right! I am the only child of Futen, the second oldest brother of the five Bhandava brothers, Bhima-sama, who is said to be the strongest in the Kuru tribe!」
