Last Embryo Volume 8 Prologue Part 5

Bhima pushes aside the shattered pieces of the bar counter and moves forward.

Among the heroes of the Indian Mythology, he is widely known as one of the most unrivaled in strength, and his name later became synonymous with power itself in India.

He excelled in all forms of martial arts, and is said to have defeated many enemy generals in the Battle of Kurukshetra.

And if he really was the son of Fuuten as he claimed to be, then he undoubtedly must have been entrusted with a part of his father’s Divinity as an incarnation of a God.

While still spewing out blood from his mouth, Bhima bared his fangs at Koryuu, showing more fighting spirit than ever before.

「Oh, so you’re Koryuu, huh? I understand how powerful of a Demon Lord you are from your introduction alone, but even so, but I have sworn an oath that I absolutely cannot back down from. Long ago, I swore that I will never forgive anyone, be it a man or a woman, who would dare to call any of my brothers an 「Oathbreaking Hero」. You talk as if you’ve been there and seen it all with your own eyes, but you’re just an outsider who knows nothing about that battle. So if you don’t understand how much my brother must’ve suffered to make the decision that he ultimately made… then I’ll smash that trash-talking mouth of yours with my own hands until you understand…!」

Insulting his family is the one thing that Bhima will absolutely not tolerate.
And now, moving on from a vulgar stance of a ruffian, he gradually changed to a martial arts stance that imitates a beast. It would seem that he’s decided to use his martial arts against Koryuu now.

Koryuu himself thought that this must be some kind of an optical illusion, because even with all his knowledge about battle, he has never seen such a peculiar battle stance before. Perhaps one of the martial arts used by the heroes of the Indian Mythology is a stance that is supposed to be imitating beasts?

However, judging from the sudden rise in Bhima’s Divinity, Shuten-douji sensed something was seriously wrong here, and for the first time since this brawl between the two had started, he actually became wary of Bhima’s and his actions.

(Could it be that he possesses some other Divinity than the one belonging to Fuuten?)

Housing more than one type of Divinity in one’s body is widely known to be a very dangerous thing to do. Pretty much every inhabitant of Little Garden knows that those who play Avatars to the Gods have them burn up the life force of their hosts at an astonishing rate, but playing host to two or more Divinities at a time would burn that life force up even faster than that.

If Bhima was able to endure it to such an extent, then that is the testament of an intense training that he must have put himself through for that very reason, but on the flipside, that made Shuten-douji think that allowing this squabble to continue might actually end up in something pretty bad.

However, when he saw that Koryuu was responding to his enemy’s intense bloodlust with an intense bloodlust of his own, it made him swallow the words that he was just about to speak up.

Koryuu’s appearance had changed. All of the floorboards of the Giant Spirit Train were cracking and splintering wherever he placed his feet, the air in the bar lounge got heavy from the mixture of his fighting spirit and killing intent… and a cold-blooded smile that Shuten-douji had never seen before was now carving itself onto his face.

And then he took a frighteningly quiet step. The kind of step that Shuten-souji had never seen the likes of Sakamaki Izayoi or Kasukabe You do. It was a step that was completely void of any kind of sound or presence, substituted instead by Koryuu’s ever-growing killing intent. As soon as that feeling reached him, Shuten-douji, who had been at an utter loss for words, stood up in surprise.

「T-This is bad…!」
Right now, Shuten-douji regretted treating this situation as nothing to be worried about, because right now, in his right hand Koryuu was holding a 『Geass Roll』that was beginning to turn all black. He should have known better than that and realized much sooner that Koryuu won’t be able to stop himself from crossing the line as soon as he heard that the man in front of him was a member of 『Twelve Devas』who once took the life of his brother-in-law before.

The moment Shuten-doji realized that he would have to use force to stop Koryuu’s violent behavior and resolved himself to do so, a crack appeared in the space between the two who were approaching each other, and what emerge from it was a figure with short silver hair holding onto a fan.

「That’s enough you big idioooooooots!!!!!」

「Geh!」

「D… 「Demon Lord of the White Night?」?!」

The two were astounded by her sudden appearance and braced themselves for impact, but it was already too late. Since Queen Halloween’s spacial displacement technique has no time lag to it whatsoever, it is impossible to detect its usage and prepare for it ahead of time.

And so, Shiroyasha landed right between Koryuu and Bhima right as the two of them were about to come into contact, and blew them both away in opposite directions using her firsts alone.
Even if the two of them were a distinguished hero and a one of the strongest Demon Lords, they were still unable to stand back up right away after being subjected to a direct attack from a Celestial Spirit. Instead, they were both send into the mists of purple smoke until they hit the wall, and then fell onto the ground together.

…. And then, when about an hour had passed since that fight.

「You utter imbecilles! Don’t you know that there a time and place for such things, you hopeless greenhorns?!」

Both Koryuu and Bhima were forced to sit on their knees in a perfect seiza position while their bodies were stiffening whenever Shiroyasha was raising her voice at them, since her shouts were enough to cause both the walls and the floors of the entire Giant Spirit Train to start creaking.

In a single moment, the entire audience who bore witness to their fight from the other side of the smoke fell silent as if on command, wrapping the entire bar lounge in a strangely tense atmosphere.

「Demon Lord of the White Night」was known to rarely get angry about something as trivial as brawls, but this time she was fuming with so much anger that her Divinity was literally leaking out of her body, and everyone present at the lounge, no matter what kind of God or Shura they were, knew that the best thing to do right now was to not anger the victor of the first War for the Sun’s Authority any more.

Unable to move even an inch from their positions and even more unable to stand up against Shiroyasha, Bhima and Koryuu simply glared at one another with dissatisfied faces.

After a whole, Shiroyasha got tired of yelling at them and dropped her shoulders while looking at Koryuu and Bhima in a thoroughly disappointed way.

「Haa…… On the one hand, we have a member of the 『Twelve Devas』, the pinnacle of warriors charged with upholding order in Little Garden, and on the other hand we have one of the 「Floor Masters」who are supposed to protect Little Garden’s people, and what do they both do? Having themselves a big fight in the bar lounge of the Giant Spirit Train. If any of the Demon Lords who seek to weaken the order and law throughout the land saw this, then they would surely take it as the sign to go on a rampage.」

「「But this guy… !!」」

「NO BUTTS YOU MORONS!!!」

Shiroyasha shouted, causing yet another crack to appear in the space near her. It was indeed a rare sight to see her as enraged as she was now. Thinking that he should have expected nothing less from her, Shuten-douji decided that now would be the best time to intervene.

「Now then, there’s no need to be angry, Shiroyasha-sama. See, both of them are clearly reflecting on what they done, right? Besides, you should already know what Koryuu is capable of, correct? Once he cools down, I assure you that he will resume his responsibilities as a guardian properly.」
