Volume 10 Chapter 297
The Hero and Glendale
「Eliza. How much do you think this can sell for?」
Akari was surprised to find out that the items she unknowingly made turned out to be quite rare. However, rarity meant the selling price would increase, which explained Tet’s high spirits.
Akari, too, fantasised about indulging in delicious food with the money earned from selling her items.
However—
「I’m sorry, Akari. We can’t put a price on items we can’t appraise」
「……Huh?」
「At least in this country, I don’t think there are any merchants who can buy Akari’s items at a fair price」
「S-So, does that mean—」
「This item won’t sell」
「Can’t the guild buy them from me?」
「It’s tough here. We don’t know its effects, and even if we did, the guild doesn’t have the funds to buy items of World Class rarity or higher」
Upon hearing Eliza’s words, Akari felt as if her world had darkened.
「By the way, there are seven more of these」
Akari showed Eliza the other items she made in a similar fashion.
「……Really?」
Eliza visibly recoiled.
Nevertheless, she proceeded with the appraisal.
「No good. They’re all World Class or higher… …Akari, how did you make these?」
Many creators are reluctant to share the manufacturing process of their items. They make a living by selling items made with their unique skills and techniques.
The guild rarely asks creators about their manufacturing methods.
Although Eliza adhered to the guild’s policy, she couldn’t help but be curious about how Akari made her items.
「Uh, umm—-」
Even if she mentioned she made them with skills from a god, it probably wouldn’t be believed.
Also, it might be better not to mention receiving gems from Rifa, as advised by Tet.
「I’m sorry. The method is a secret」
「I see…… I suppose you wouldn’t want to share the method for crafting items of World Class rarity or higher with anyone」
「N-No, it’s not like that! Not what I meant—-」
「It’s okay. I was just curious and tried to ignore the guild rules by asking about the method. I’m sorry」
Akari didn’t want to keep secrets from Eliza, who had been so helpful.
Should she tell her about coming from another world to defeat the Demon Lord?
Should she reveal that she’s actually a hero?
Should she mention receiving cheat skills from a goddess?
Akari was torn.
As Akari remained silent with her head down, Eliza continued talking.
「The guild generally doesn’t get deeply involved in personal matters. We’re really short-handed, so anyone except criminals is accepted」
Whether someone is a criminal is apparently checked with a truth gem.
「So, it’s okay no matter waat situation Akari is in. We’ll try to help sell those items for you so you can get some money」
「Is it really okay?」
「Yeah. You don’t have to tell anyone anything you don’t want to. So, will you stay in this guild?」
Eliza was worried that by trying to forcefully inquire how she made items of world-class level or higher, Akari might end up leaving the guild.
「I- I want to stay in Aplisto」
「R-Really!?」
「Yes. Because you’re here, Eliza-san」
「Akari!!」
Eliza leaped over the counter and hugged Akari.
「Tet also wants to stay with Akari here. Eliza’s food is so delicious!」
「Thank you, Tet!」
Afterward, the three of them discussed how to sell the items Akari made.
「Since we only have eight gems left, if we want to make more, we’ll have to go somewhere to get them……」
All the gems received from Rifa had been used up.
Since destroying items of World Class or higher just to retrieve the gems would be wasteful, they decided to leave the eight accessories Akari made as they were.
「In this country, there probably isn’t anyone who can buy them. But if it’s Glendale, maybe—」
「Glendale? Why there?」
「Because that’s where the H&T Company’s headquarters is」
「The H&T Company?」
「You really don’t know anything, Akari. Where did you come from —- Ah, sorry, I shouldn’t pry into your personal information」
「I-I’m sorry. Um…… Please think of me coming from a really isolated place, the countryside」
The H.Haruto & T.Tina Trading Company is the largest trading company in the world, but Akari shouldn’t have known about that.
For now, she pretended to have been living far away from the general public until now.
「Right. Okay, let’s go with that」
Eliza agreed.
「At any rate, if we go to Glendale, there might be someone who would buy the items Akari made」
「Is that so!? Then I’ll go to Glendale!」
「We’re off!」
Akari lifted Tet and dashed out of the guild.
「 —-Eh」
Eliza froze at Akari’s sudden departure. But she quickly regained her composure.
Surely Akari and Tet would soon comeback.
Because Glendale is over a month’s journey away by carriage from this country.
They would probably ask Eric for directions to Glendale at the gate and be surprised at how far it was, then return here.
—-That’s what Eliza thought.
──***──
A few minutes after Akari dashed out of the Crafts Guild.
「So this is Glendale. It’s a bigger country than Aplistos or Alheim, huh?」
「It’s huge!」
She and Tet stood atop a hill overlooking Glendale.
They had teleported here.
As long as she knew the place name, she could teleport anywhere in this world.
Since she didn’t want to be seen by people, she teleported to a place where there were no people and where she could overlook Glendale.
「You think we are far enough?」
「Yeah. There are a lot of people in this country, so I think it’s fine we are this far」
It was only her second time using teleportation, but Akari was beginning to get used to the skill. She could now understand the conditions for setting teleportation locations and the reasons for coming here.
It was because Akari received a skill called from the goddess.
This skill was for mastering other skills efficiently. With it, Akari could master any skill after just a few uses.
Although she couldn’t charm the elven guards with her God’s Eye, with a few more uses, there would likely be no one who could resist her charm.
Since coming to this world, Akari had been growing stronger incredibly fast, even in ways she herself didn’t realise, but she was undeniably becoming stronger.
