Volume 3 Chapter 49

Dungeon Attack At The World Tree

After we began our hunt, we went through the dungeon by following the sylph’s directions.

[Hey, there’s a treasure chest in that room over there.]

There was a treasure chest that contained an advanced healing potion.

[Left here, then turn right.]

I turned down that street and found a passage that led ahead.

[There’s an obscure room off to the side of it, with a treasure chest. The contents are empty though, so just ignore it.]

….

You know…

If the navigator is this good, then I just don’t feel like conquering the dungeon anymore.

Well, since we’re just here to meet the sylphs and to get rare items, I guess there’s no problem.

The sylph who was guiding us is also being very lively, so I suppose this is a good thing.

Sylph seems to think they’re on an adventure and are quite upbeat about it, even though he was pretty much just showing us around his house.

Someday I want to go on a real adventure, a trip through the unexplored lands. That would be really exciting.

It sounds like a perfect battlefield.

[Here, there’s a staircase that leads to the next floor ahead.]

Sylph was right again, there was a staircase that appeared after a short walk. I guess there aren’t any bosses here.

──****────.

And that’s how we got to the fourth level.

Thanks to Sylph’s precise instructions, we were able to make it this far without losing any rare items.
There were so many rare items that I even threw away a few items I couldn’t keep anymore. You would want an item bag or something that can hold an infinite amount of stuff to be able to hold them all. Unfortunately, nobody here had such a thing.

Incidentally, this dungeon has six levels, and it seems like you can move to the sylph’s dwelling place by going through the sixth floor.

[Hm, for some reason the fairies don’t bring any rare items to this floor. So ignore all the rooms you see here.]

Then Sylph flew away.

We followed along with him.

[Hmm?]’

It was just a wall, no different than the others around me, but for some reason, there was a part of me that was drawn to it.

[Haruto, what’s going on?]

[I don’t know, it’s just…]

I tried to touch the wall.

[..?]

My hand was sucked in.

I’m going in.

I placed my foot inside and made sure there was a ground behind the wall.

[What? Are you guys not going in too?]

[Then I’ll go.]

[I as well.]

Luke, Rifa, and Yoko tried to get into the wall as I did, but they couldn’t get in. It was as if it was just a wall to them.
Not even Sylph was able to get in.

Why am I the only one?

I don’t know what it was, but I felt something calling me from behind the wall, so I walked through it.

On the other side of the wall, there was a room.

It had an area of about three meters square, and there was a hollow in the back wall of the room, where a glowing red ruby lied.

A treasure!

The item was in a hidden room on the floor that was said to be empty. So I think it’s really rare.

I take the ruby in my hand.

Hmm? Have I ever seen anything like this?

I had a strange feeling, but I decided to leave the room as quickly as I could, as I knew that everyone was worried about me.

I was able to get back through the wall as normal. I just let myself in, and I was wary of the possibility of a trap that I couldn’t get out or something.

I didn’t feel any malicious intent though, and even in the worst case scenario, I had transition magic, so I knew I could handle it.

[Haruto-sama, are you okay? That’s good, welcome back.]

[I’m back, Tina.]

When I left the room, Tina was worried about me.

[Haruto, welcome back. What did you find?]

[Yeah, I found this on the floor.]

I show Sylph and everyone the ruby that I took.

[Oh! So iIt was here.]

I think Sylph knows what this is.

[It’s a rare item called the dragon king’s eyes that can block any kind of magic once. It’s a pair of earrings from the old days of the demon king, but it’s supposed to be a pair of two… was only one of them there?]

[Might this be the other pair, perhaps?]

Tina took out a pendant from her chest.

It’s the magic tool that broke when I destroyed the training camp.

Indeed, the gemstone on Tina’s pendant was very similar to the ruby I’d found.

[I’m sure it’s the same one. Tina had it with her. If it’s broken, then it must have been used.]

Tina’s pendant was sealed with the absolute defense magic of a hero from another world.

When she was trying to protect the central city of the magic academy from the magic I had released, the absolute defense magic was activated as she was in danger, and the ruby cracked.

[I’ll put some new magic in this one and give it to Tina.]

[Thank you. I’ll look forward to it.]

I’ll imbue a spell that can protect Tina no matter what kind of attack comes.

Thinking that, I carefully wrapped the ruby in cloth and tucked it into my bag.

[By the way, why was I the only one who could enter into that room?]

I’m also curious about the fact that only one hero had a pair of items of the two.]

Come to think of it, I don’t really know much about the hero who was adventuring with Tina.

I’ll have to check it out next time when I have time.
