Volume 6 Chapter 130
Accelerated Leveling
In this world, when forming a party, the higher-leveled individuals receive a greater share of experience points.
As a result, I, being at level 1, Luna at level 53, and Ryuuka at level 65, will receive significantly less experience points compared to them when we defeat monsters together.
Luna and Ryuuka on the other hand, can expect to receive about fifty to seventy times the experience points that I receive.
Considering the level disparity between us, it is only natural that Ryuuka, being at a higher level than Luna, will receive more experience points. Despite this difference, I suppose it’s fine for now.
Let’s give it a try and see how it goes.
「Here, take it」
Somewhat forcefully, I handed Luna and Ryuuka the Party Stones.
To distribute experience points, Party Stones need to be synchronized. Multiple Party Stones won’t have any effect unless they emit light at the same frequency.
The Party Stones I gave them were already synchronized, allowing for the distribution of experience points.
By the way, Party Stones can accommodate up to four people, which is why forming parties of four is commonplace in this world.
Reluctantly, Ryuuka handed her Party Stone to Ryuushin.
With that, Luna, Ryuuka, and I formed a party.
We came upon a spacious room on the eighth floor of the dungeon. Upon touching the teleportation stone on the seventh floor, we were transported to this room, which is adequately sized for us.
「Ice Lance! Wind Lance!」
I summoned a multitude of knights made of ice and wind, filling the room with their presence.
There were approximately a hundred of them.
Since we are in an underground dungeon, summoning fire knights could deplete the oxygen. Thus, I opted for ice and wind magic this time.
Now, we are ready.
「Eliminate them」
Following my command, the magical knights rushed into the dungeon.
「As always, your magic is incredible……」
「Haruto-san, you can create such a large number in mere seconds…… It’s amazing」
Luke and Rifa praised my abilities.
「Why aren’t you summoning fire knights this time?」
「Fire knights consume the surrounding air to sustain their flames. If we use too much air, it becomes difficult to breathe」
Yoko inquired, prompting me to provide a simple explanation. In this world, concepts like oxygen depletion are not widely known.
Furthermore, even though it’s an underground dungeon, using a small amount of fire magic wouldn’t typically cause oxygen depletion. However, since my fire knights burn with considerable intensity, they consume a significant amount of oxygen. Summoning a hundred of them would result in thinning the air, regardless of the dungeon’s size.
On the other hand, this strategy can be utilized in dungeons that descend further underground. By sending multiple fire knights into the entrance and having them wait, we can eliminate the monsters without even entering the dungeon. After some time, the lack of oxygen in the dungeon causes all the monsters to perish.
However, there are drawbacks to that approach.
Firstly, it is ineffective against ghosts or undead creatures that do not require oxygen.
Secondly, defeating monsters through oxygen depletion does not yield any experience points.
As I explained these points, something unexpected occurred with Luna and Ryuuka.
「Eh!? Wha, what—」
「I can’t……believe it」
Their bodies began emitting a pale blue light.
It was the phenomenon that occurs when levels increase.
Subsequently, their bodies continued emitting light every ten seconds or so.
Their levels were increasing at an incredible speed.
It seems that once the magical knights I created began exterminating the monsters in the dungeon, this phenomenon was triggered.
Normally, to increase their levels, they would need to defeat dozens of monsters within their level range. If the monsters are of a lower level, they would need to hunt even more of them.
「Wh, why?」
Ryuuka looked at me in surprise.
Perhaps she believed that my level was higher than Tina’s. She must have thought that even if she teamed up with someone over level 250, she wouldn’t receive as much experience points. But in reality, I am at level 1, which means Luna and Ryuuka receive an immense amount of experience points.
No matter how many monsters I defeat, my level will not increase.
As the level gap with my party members widens, the experience points I receive from defeating the same monsters gradually decrease. However, given that I have no need for experience points in the first place, it doesn’t bother me.
—In other words, I am a sage who can efficiently level up my companions in this world.
Perhaps I could even consider starting a business as a leveler.
After some time, Luna and Ryuuka’s bodies stopped glowing.
It was probably because the number of monsters within the dungeon had decreased.
「Time to move on to the next floor」
Since the ice and wind knights are magical entities, they cannot open the door to the boss room. It only opens when a person approaches.
With magic, they might be able to break through that door though……
Anyway, since the number of monsters on the eighth floor has decreased, it’s necessary for us to progress to the next floor.
「So, how much did your level increase?」
「I-I’m amazed. I reached level 63」
「I went up 7 levels, and now I’m level 72」
It appears that Luna increased her level by 10 from 53, while Ryuuka only increased by 7. Despite Ryuuka receiving more experience points, the required experience points for leveling up also increase, resulting in a decrease in the rate of level increase.
As we move to the next floor, we can expect stronger monsters, which means more experience points. By repeating this process until the tenth floor, we should be able to raise their levels to around 90 by the time we clear this dungeon.
Level 90 is on par with B-rank adventurers, known as top-class adventurers. They won’t fall behind ordinary monsters.
But if I were to be ambitious, I would want Luna, who has lower defense and agility, to surpass level 100…..
Well, that can wait. Next time, I’ll form a party with Meldi and Rifa, who haven’t reached level 100 yet, along with Luna, to strengthen the overall power of the Elnor family and take on the dungeon.
Ultimately, it would be wonderful if everyone could reach their third job. If every member of the family attains the level of strength comparable to Tina, I can feel a little more at ease.
With such thoughts in mind, I led everyone through the dungeon floor where no monsters appeared at all.
Is there a mistake, or is it a browser issue? I’m seeing ch. 129 instead of 130.
Will get it sorted out.
Sorted.
