「Thanks to you, I feel a little better.」

「You mean about the Princess and Ulysses?

I’m reminded of the commotion at my parents’ house the other day.

「And then there’s Yukihime-san.」

「Me?」

「Yes, I know you’ll correct me if I do something wrong.」

「Although, I don’t think you’ll listen if I do, Young Master.」

I quickly look away.

「But… I will remember that you trust me. You were the first to tell me about your plan, Young Master.」

The other day, on my way back to Nanaejima after the commotion at my parents’ house, I confided in Yukihime-neesan about a certain plan. I’m currently in the preparation stage of that plan.

「Still, I never imagined your goal was to find the culprit who killed Nanana Ryuugajou.」

「Hehehe.」

I didn’t really want to say it, but after being questions so much, I couldn’t help but tell her.

「I guess I really need to talk to Nanana Ryuugajou.」

During the <<game>> before summer vacation, Yukihime-neesan had spoken to Nanana, who had possessed M, also known as Yun-chan.

「Are you okay to meet her? You know Nanana-chan is a ghost right?」

「If you can do it, then I can do it.」

What kind of standard is that?

「But, since we’ll be there, let’s have the Princess and Ulysses come along too.」

「Are you scared?」

That was a suspiciously quick response. Well, it’s normal to be wary after all. Sorea-nee and the others are special, so it’s probably wrong to expect them to act like normal people.

Aside from the residents of the Happiness Dorm, Ikusaba-san is clearly like that too. That is the reason why President Yuiga treats him with such respect. Come to think of it, Taisei and Nishi-san are treated like that too.

「By the way, young master. If I get scared, will you protect me?」

「Uh, isn’t that obvious?」

I was wondering why she was saying that suddenly, while looking down.

「I see, I understand. Oh, and just to ease my mind I want to ask, you and Shuu-san weren’t involved in the Nanana collection theft, right?」

「Yes, at least I wasn’t. And I don’t think Todomatsu is the type to resort to such tactics.」

「That’s good then.」

「So, Young Master, when are you going to ask Todomatsu?」

「Well, maybe once Yukihime-neesan gives me a passing grade on materials I’ve created.」

「I’m strict.」

「I know that.」

「Then, from now on, we’ll meet at this time every day.」

「Every day?」

「Yes, every day.」

Yukihime-neesan smiled with a hint of happiness.

「Juugo-kun is so quick to bully me.」

As evening approached and the sun began to set, Sora-nee was exercising in the garden of the Happiness Dorm.

I do physical training daily. The Happiness Dorm has a small, but somewhat idyllic garden, perfect for getting some exercise, so I’ve been using it.

I spot someone staggering onto the Happiness Dorm grounds.

「Ah, Himeko-chan. Welcome back.」

The person returning was Himeko Nonomiya, an office lady who lives in Room 101, just below Sora-nee and her friends in 201. I greeted her on the day I moved in, and like usual, we became quick friends.

「Sora-nee, what are you doing?」

「I was working out.」

「Really? I want to rest. Actually, I feel like I’m going to die.」

Himeko’s back was hunched and her knees were flexing, probably due to fatigue.

「What’s do you do for work, Himeko-chan?」

「Security guard… No, maybe you’d call it watching out for drunk people.」

「Really? Is that why you’re so tired?」

「No, it’s not that. Lately, I’ve been forced to do an insane amount of training. I’m definitely being bullied under the guise of training.」

「Is it tough?」

「It is tough. It’s painful too. I want to quit this workplace.」

「Being an adult is tough, huh?」

「I’ve had enough. I want to go back to my school days. I want to be cozy with my boyfriend.」

This is an adult seriously complaining to a middle school student.

「By the way, I wanted to ask you, Himeko-chan, who else lives on the first floor besides you?」

「Oh, my advisor’s boyfriend (lol) lives in Room 102, but he’s supposed to be wandering the world. Room 103 is occupied by Mano-kun, who works for our company. He’s currently on a long-term overseas assignment.」

Himeko bursts out laughing after saying this. And sure enough her head is grabbed from behind in a vice-like grip.

「Nonomiya-chan, haven’t you been treating your boss badly lately?」

「Ouch, ouch, it’s going to break. You’re going to break it, advisor!」

Appearing without a trace, standing there was Maboro Shiki, the landlord of the Happiness Dorm.

「Oh. Hi landlady.」

「Yes, hi. You’re full of energy this morning, Sora-chan.」

「No, landlady. What are you talking about? It’s already evening.」

「…You’re right. The sun doesn’t rise in the west, after all.」

As she looked at the sun currently setting, Shiki scratched her stomach under her tank top.

「Were you drinking until the early hours again? Did you wake up just now?」

「Yeah, I guess it doesn’t really matter what time it is now.」

「Social misfit.」

「Watch your mouth or I’ll double your rent again!」

「Sorry, sorry!」

「By the way, Honami told me that you have been training a lot lately.」

「Yeah, that’s right. Even though it’s not a student club activity, I’m still undergoing hellish training.」

「In that case, I’ll have to give you a reward sometime.」

「In that case, please train with me.」

Himeko’s eyes sparkled, and Shiki gave a displeased look.

「Nonomiya-chan, are you really that enthusiastic about it?」

「Well, seeing how wild our advisor was the other day, it kind of brought back some old blood.」

Sora-nee, watching the two of them, tugged on Himako’s clothes.

「Hey, Himeko. Is Shiki strong?」

「Well, it seems she’s so strong that it’s no joke. Even I, a woman of my caliber, look up to this alcoholic with respect.」

「And from what I can see, you haven’t even gotten serious yet. Probably only about 30%.」

「Am I some demon’s little brother?」

「Then I want you to fight me too!」

Sora-nee’s eyes sparkle, and Shiki frowns.

「Well, why?」

「You see, I’m a woman who stands for justice, so I really want to become stronger.」

Sora-nee’s eye’s sparkle more, and Shiki looks dumbfounded, but then smiles.

「That’s nice.」

「Right?」

As Shiki smiles and pats Sora-nee’s head, Himeko mutters to herself, 「It doesn’t suit you to be an advisor who so openly praises a girl who talks about her dreams.」

「Okay, I’ll pat your head too, Himeko.」

「No, sorry. I really can’t. I really want to take a shower and go to bed right now. And no, not with you Advisor.」

「No way.」

「Why not?」

While the three of them were making so much noise, another resident appeared.

「What are you doing, Sora-nee?」

「Ah, Juugo-kun. Welcome back.」

The person who had returned was Juugo.

I wave back at Sora-nee, who waves back with a smile, and turned my attention to the person next to her.

「Good evening, Shiki-san. And, um…」

「Oh, I see. This is my first time meeting you, Yama-kun. Hi, I’m Himeko Nonomiya from Room 101. I’m the advisor’s supervisor.」

「Advisor… supervisor… so that means you work with Shiki-san?」

「Yeah, that’s right. By the way, congratulations on your win the other day.」

Nonomiya-san grins.

I was surprised to learn that Shiki was an honorary advisor for Sougo Security. I had no idea that one of their members lived so close by…

「It’s a small world, huh?」

「By the way, Juugo-kun, did you win anything?」

「Don’t worry about it. I just won a school game tournament.」

As I brushed it off, Nonomiya asked, 「By the way」, and continued.

「Is the earthbound spirit that shares your room still there?」

「Yes, not only is she there and doing well, she’s incredibly energetic. …Oh, do you know her, Nonomiya?」

「Well, I’m a member of the Happiness Dorm after all. That said, I’ve never met her.」

「Then would you like to come and see her?」

「No, no, no, no thank you!」

Nonomiya-san waves her hand vigorously.

Well I guess that’s a normal reaction.

Nonomiya-san then claps her hands.

「Oh, that reminds me, it’s today.」

「? What do you mean?」

「Nanana-san’s deathaverssary.」

Himeko’s words made me frown.

「The anniversary of her death?」

「Well, today is August 14th.」

She remembers. Today, August 14th, is the day Nanana was killed ten years ago.

「Come to think of it, it is today, isn’t it?」
