Nanana’s Buried Treasure Volume 5 Chapter 1.2

「Hmmm, but wouldn’t that mean ignoring Yuiga-dono’s orders, Tsurezura-dono? 」, Tensai dares to ask her senpai.

「I know. That’s why you guys shouldn’t tell Isshin-sama. 」

「Why go to such lengths to let us know the truth? 」

「It’s because that Yoshino girl is unforgivable right? Kagetora and I followed Isshin-sama’s orders and didn’t go after Saki Yoshino. But there’s nothing wrong with you guys doing it on your own. 」

「In other words you want us to catch Saki Yoshino and put her in front of Ibara-dono? 」

「Then we’ll settle the matter with her. 」

Senpai’s grinning eyes are really scary. But I say ‘heh’ and give a wry smile.

「I’m kidding. There’s no way you guys would bring her to me. So if you can find out why she did it, can you tell me? 」

「First of all I’m really pissed off. I’d really like to get revenge. …but I have a feeling that won’t happen. I only had a little talk with that girl to lure her out, but I can’t help but feel that such an innocent and funny girl stabbed me in the heart. 」

These words from senpai as she dropped her gaze were unexpected. The idea I had so far was that Ibara-senpai would brutally murder her without question, like the same way Yun-chan stabbed Yuiga-senpai. I never thought she would say such a thing.

But I understand that feeling, because I feel the same way. If you talk to Yun-chan, you’ll know right away. She’s an honest and good kid. And when I see her cute smile I unconsciously smile too. That’s why I know. Ibara-senpai seems to have taken a liking to Yun-chan, even though she only talked to her a little.

I guess senpai are good at taking care of their kohai even in times like this. I know from watching the exchanges between Tensai and D’arc. Well I guess it’s limited to girls who don’t make advances towards President Yuiga.

Ibara-senpai starts to panic when we remained silent after hearing her true intentions.

「H..hey, why are you guys so quiet? Say something. 」

I will do it Ibara-senpai. It’s strange that Ibara-senpai looks cute when she’s flustered like this. It’s probably because I saw a side of her I don’t usually get to see.

「Well, Ibara-senpai has a cute side. 」

A vein pops on her temple.

Punched. Yes she just punched my face. That’s why you shouldn’t talk on your own, mouth!

「A..anyways, that’s it! 」

With a bright red face, Ibara-senpai turned and ran away.

If I get to see that figure, 1 blow might have been a cheap price. Good job mouth.

Tsurezure-senpai who remained looked at us.

「Now let me remind you that this…」

「Is a secret for only us? 」

Tsurezure-senpai stares at me when I ask that back, but he doesn’t say anything else. As I was wondering what was happening, Tsurezure-senpai’s gaze shifted to the side.

「Hoshino-kohai. Repeat back what Yama-kouhai just said. 」

D’arc has a surprised expression on his face at the sudden demand. I mean, why repeat it? Do you want us to take an oath or something?

「Um, this is a secret for only us? 」

「No! Say it in a more bashful way! 」

Tsurezure-senpai was yelling this with his eyes wide open while standing with his arms crossed. I mean, wait what was that order just now? D’arc, who was acting timid from being yelled at by Tsurezure-senpai, looked down. He then looked up at Tsurezure-senpai.

「T..this secret is only for us, isn’t it? 」

Seeing D’arc create the scene he asked for, Tsurezure-senpai gently closed his eyes and looked up at the sky.

「Ah there is a nice wind blowing. 」

His figure was gazing at the distant sky was as if he were standing in an eternal grassland bathed in the gentle breeze. Then with a somewhat satisfied expression on his face, Tsurezure-senpai says 「That’s all for now」 and turned his back to us and left.

「…hey Juugo, is that guy funny in the head? 」

「Yeah. I think that person is probably an idiot too. 」

I thought he was a serious senpai, but apparently that person is also of a very unfortunate race.

「Seriously, is there no decent guy in the adventure club other than me? 」

「Who are you called decent? 」, D’arc and Tensai reply at the same time.

「Don’t say that in harmony please. 」

They are really a rude bunch. But even so, things got pretty weird.

「By the way, how do you see this incident, commentator Tensai-san? 」

When I pointed the imaginary microphone in my right hand, the great detective stuck out 2 fingers from her right hand.

「There are 2 points to consider. 1, Why did Saki Yoshino stab Yuiga-dono? 2, Why does Yuiga-dono want to protect Saki Yoshino, whom stabbed him. 」

「Is the reason why Yun-chan stabbed President Yuiga… because he’s so handsome? 」

「That’s just your twisted feelings, Juugo. 」

「Shut it. Well, what’s your idea then Tensai? 」

「First of all, as a major premise, Yuiga-dono and Saki Yoshino shouldn’t have met each other. 」

「Yeah that’s right. When we recently challenged the South Red Mall ruins Yun-chan’s name came up in discussions among the Adventure club, but the Adventure Club didn’t actually ever meet Yun-chan」

「So I’m thinking, what if it was a robbery? 」

「Wait, let me finish first. Here are my full thoughts. Saki Yoshino was actually a female spy who was working behind the scenes to obtain the Nanana Collection. 」

「Oh? A female spy? 」

I imagine Yun-chan as a female spy while thinking about the ones I’ve seen in movies. Yeah that doesn’t suit her at all. There’s no way she would do such a frightening mission.

「Yuiga-dono noticed this and tried to contact Saki Yoshino. I can think of many reasons he would do this such as to get information from her or draw her into his own circle. Well, I’m not sure Yuiga-dono would do that…」

「What are you mumbling that’s making your face turn red? If you are going to get embarrassed, then don’t make adult remarks like ‘He’ll force her into a cage and add her to his harem’, you child detective. 」

「Y..you idiot! I didn’t say that! I was just thinking Yuiga-dono would say, ‘I will train Saki Yoshino so she can’t live without my body’. 」

「That’s basically the same thing! I mean yours is even more erotic! 」

「Anyways, back to the topic. I think Yuiga-dono was stabbed during that negotiation. 」

「I see. So did you ask Ibara-senpai if there was anything missing from the clubroom? 」

If, as Tensai says, Yun-chan is a female spy looking for the Nanana collection and was invited by President Yuiga, and as a result stabbed him, it wouldn’t be strange if she took something that looked like a Nanana Collection.

「Isn’t this reasoning 80% just Tensai wanting it to be true? 」

「Oh, you have guts to be criticizing someone else’s reasoning. Well tell me why then. 」

「No, using the word ‘female spy’ and making the story strangely dramatic definitely feels like a Tensai fantasy. Besides wasn’t that line of reasoning broken when Ibara-senpai said, ‘There’s no evidence that things were taken’? 」

「Hmph. As expected, Juugo. Well done. 」

「I mean, before you even told me that, you should have already noticed. 」

「Well, that’s how it is. 」

「Yeah. 」

「I’ve come up with a pretty cool theory, so I wanted to talk about it. 」

There you have it, the self-centered detective that just wants us to hear her cool ideas.

「Anyways, the second point is also problematic. Why is President Yuiga protecting Yun-chan? If Yun-chan hurt President Yuiga then what’s the point in protecting her? 」

「If he want’s to protect her then there must be a reason. However, Yuiga-dono and Saki  Yoshino met for the first time. It’s difficult to imagine there was much interaction between them. 」

「In other words, there is no reason normally to think he would protect her. 」

This contradictory behavior from President Yuiga troubles me and Tensai. D’arc who had been silently listening to us until now raises his hand.

「I wonder if it’s a kind of thing where Yuiga is kind, so he’s protecting Yoshino-san from being the bad guy? 」

I see, if it’s President ‘Popularity’ then maybe he can’t say he dislikes her. Is he trying to be a martyr to increase his popularity? Is that the secret to being popular with girls President Yuiga?!

「Hmmm, If you consider what I’m about to say then that can’t be the case. 」 Tensai shuts down D’arc’s speculation.

「W..why is that Tensai? 」

「If it was something lame like that, then this wouldn’t be exciting at all! 」

「So that’s why! 」

Tensai puts her hand on her chin and strikes a pose after surprising D’arc.

「There must be something big behind this incident. 」

「Oh, what’s the basis for that theory great detective? 」, I said this looking at Tensai with a doubtful face.

Tensai looks back at me with a nihilistic smile and says, 「There is none. 」
