Nanana’s Buried Treasure Volume 5 Chapter 3.2

「Well, I believe a dummy name was used for the owner of the building.」

「So that’s how it is. I haven’t been able to do my homework this time. To be honest, we won’t know until we go there.」

Tsurezure-senpai seems unsatisfied for some reason. I can imagine that most likely Ibara-senpai just suddenly said ‘We’re going to the 《ruins》’ today.

「Come on, let’s go.」

Ibara-senpai is leading the challenge this time. She wants to obtain a nanana collection so she can get a reward from President Yuiga. She starts walking towards the warehouse again.

We follow while wondering if this is really ok. And then a problem arose.

「Huh?」

I discovered it when I went between warehouses and caught sight of the target warehouse. It was a bicycle parked near a warehouse that seems to be the 《ruin》. And not just one. Three bicycles are parked. One Mamachari, and two Sharp lightweight bicycles.

「Eh. This is a cool road bike.」

Senpai was looking at the thin bike with great interest.

「Do you like it?」

「I’ve been interested in this for a long time, but it’s expensive so I can’t afford it. Wow, this one is good too. It’s a step above a Celeste.」

From the looks of it, they seem like great bikes.

「By the way, why are they parked here?」

「Now that you mention it, it sure is strange.」

Ibara-senpai looks around anxiously. Of course there is no sign of anyone other than us in this warehouse on the outskirts of town.

「I’m going to take a quick look.」

Just when he said that Tsurezure-senpai suddenly disappeared. But then I located him… why is he standing on the roof of the warehouse? He then dashed and jumped to the next warehouse’s roof. That man is a real ninja.

After a bit Ninja-senpai came back.

「I’ve searched the surroundings but it doesn’t look like anyone is here.」

「Then where are the owners of these bikes?」

「Who knows?」

As we tilt our heads, Tensai crosses her arms and gives a smug laugh ‘Fufufu’.

「Maybe they are challenging the 《ruins》 right now.」

Tensai casually said this and we all turned our eyes to the warehouse in front of us.

「Hey now Tensai. What are you saying?」

「Yeah, chibi. Don’t make stupid jokes.」

Ibara-senpai and I give a very dry laugh. A certain man popped up in my mind. It was probably the same for Ibara-senpai. That would be Hiiyo Ikusaba who we fought at the 《ruin》 in South Red Mall the other day.

I was able to defeat Senjou-san and get the Nanana Collection that time, but Ibara-senpai and I took a lot of damage. He’s a very difficult opponent who makes full use of the nanana collection. He’s someone I’d rather not fight.

「What do you want to do? Do you want to stop?」

「Don’t be silly! I’m going to make Isshin-sama happy and I’ll beat up one or two people who are in my way if I have to!」

「What about 4?」

「Shut up kid! Anyways, let’s go!」

So we were in front of the target warehouse. We looked up again, man it’s really big. It looks like a school gymnasium, but its size is one or two orders of magnitude bigger. It seems that both its width and depth are larger than I imagined.

The first senpai twists the doorknob of the door next to the big shutter. Like the previous 《ruin》, it was not locked and opened easily.

We peek inside. The floor plan showed a spacious interior, so I thought I would see the whole thing form the entrance. But inside the warehouse wooden boxes, cardboard boxes, and other large items were piled up so I couldn’t see to the back.

「The lights are on.」

Several light bulbs that were hanging from the ceiling cast a strange light inside the warehouse.

「And… I can’t hear anything.」 As Tsurezure-senpai said this, some kind of sound echoed from the back.

For the time being we close the door and have a strategy meeting.

「This is it for sure. Right now, someone is challenging this 《ruin》.」

Tensai nodded at Tsurezure-senpai’s words.

「And at least four people. More than that if I don’t estimate well.」

「What are we going to do Ibara-senpai?」

With the 3 of us looking at Ibara-senpai, she puffs out her chest.

「Of course we go in. Then we defeat them and get the nanana collection!」

With this decision from the leader we all rush into the warehouse. We open the door again and enter the dark warehouse. As usual the door closes behind us and the sound of it locking resounds. I turned on the flashlight I brought from the clubroom just in case, and we proceeded slowly through the warehouse. As we walked we saw things such as broken wooden boxes and cans scattered about, strange liquids spreading on the floor, and collapsed luggage scattered about.

「It looks like some sort of trap had been triggered.」

A gimmick to block intruders that 《ruins》 always have. It looks like it’s working well. The contents of scattered luggage are lying here. There are broken mannequins, a large number of stuffed bears, and cute girl dolls. Wow this antique car candy toy is very elaborately made. I took it in my hand and it was impressive.

「Thanks to the other party, it seems that most of them have already been activated.」, says Tsurezure-senpai.

We still haven’t come across any gimmicks as we continue to go deeper. We just keep going deeper and deeper. Before I knew it the sound that had been echoing from the back of the warehouse had disappeared. The inside of the warehouse was now eerily quiet.

「We should be able to find a room soon」, said Tsurezure-senpai, who spread out the floor plan.

「I see… Second floor.」

From the outside it looks like there is a room attached to the farthest wall. It seems to be a room for management to overlook the warehouse. If you look closely, the passage extends along the wall from there. What worries me though is that the room is dimly lit by a swaying light. That means it’s shaking.

「Hmmm. Looks like someone is in that room.」

Looks like they are the people who were here ahead of us.

「I can go up there.」

Ibara-senpai goes forward and discovers the stairs leading to the room in question. Hurry up and go up there.

「It seems we’ve caught up.」

Tsurezure-senpai’s words while staring at the top of the stairs make me nervous.

「So, let’s go.」

Ibara-senpai starts climbing the stairs. Tsurezure-senpai immediately follows. 「Hmmm. I think we’d normally come up with some sort of plan here.」, whispers Tensai. 「It can’t be helped because Ibara-senpai is leading this time」, I whisper back.

A reckless rush, or an assault seems to be Ibara-senpai’s style. It’s different than Yuiga.

「Are you ok Juugo?」

「It’s fine isn’t it? I don’t know who the other people are. Besides the Senpai are challenging the 《ruin》 first, so if they tell us to withdraw we should leave obediently.」

「Yeah, you have a special heart.」

「Excuse me, there aren’t many people with more heart than me.」

「I don’t think there will be problems after they open the treasure chest. So we should let them clear it, and then steal the nanana collection.」

「Well it’s almost time, we are at the top.」

Tensai you read people’s minds too much. You should really stop!

What was waiting for us at the top was the treasure chest of course, as well as a group of four; 2 men and 2 women. Flashbacks of Ikusaba-san from last time came to mind and we braced ourselves.

The other group seems to have noticed us but weren’t making a big deal about it.

「Good evening.」

Against our expectations a small girl from among them greeted us with a smile.

The room at the top of the stairs was fairly spacious. Empty steel shelves are lined up along the walls, and the windows on the warehouse side offer a panoramic view of the warehouse. Since there are devices such as controls, it may be a room where you can operate some kind of machine.

A treasure chest was placed in a corner of the room. A group of four people in uniforms stood in front of the treasure chest. Of course it’s a different uniform than the one our high school wears.

A small girl stepped up from the group and smiled as she said, 「Good evening.」

「G…good evening?」

Even though the senpai are confused they return the greeting.

「Are you guys here to challenge the 《ruin》 too?」

「That’s right.」

「I see. It’s kind of unusual to have a clash with other challengers like this. My name is Asumi Nishi, nice to meet you.」

Nishi-san smiled and held out her hand. Ibara-senpai was still confused but shook her hand.

「Umm, I’m Ibaraki… Wait! Why are you introducing yourself?」

Nishi-san was surprised by Ibara-senpai, who had hastily let go of her hand.

「It’s common courtesy to greet each other, right?」

「No! Not when you guys are going to attack us!」

「Actually, they got here first, so I think we will be the ones to attack.」

「Shut up Juugo!」

Ibara-senpai glared at me once again and Nishi waved her hands in a panic.

「Hey, isn’t it dangerous to attack or be attacked? Let’s talk about this.」

「Talk about it?」
