Nanana’s Buried Treasure Volume 5 Chapter 4.4

Kira and Sansa clapped their hands at the splendid handling of a katana.

「Tetsu-kun, you’re amazing. 」

「Really. You can only handle a sword skillfully. 」

Even though he knew they were teasing him, their mean words hurt Tetsu.

「Well then, should we face off for real sometime soon? What do you think Kira? 」

「Sure. 」

Saying that Kira Kanna took the large bag that was hanging on her back and opened the zipper. What she took out was an electric bass. Kira holds it and plucks the four strings lightly.

Then Sansa points down the corrider with her hand making a ‘Suuu’ sound.

「Three people. Distance 12-15」

「Yaaaaa」

As she shouts Kira’s fingers move as if they were flowing. However no sound is emitted from the bass. A few seconds later a popping sound came from the direction that Sansa was pointing. At the same time there was the sound of something falling.

「Bingo! 」

「Next, two people at 8 o’clock, at a distance of 7-11. And another alone at 5 o’clock, distance just 20. 」

「Yaaa, Yaaa, Yaaa. 」

Kira strums her bass silently again. Then, with a little lag between each one, there are three more popping sounds.

「Tetsu, two more people will rush in from 5 o’clock, take the initiative and attack. 」

「Roger. 」

Tetsu rushes forward alone.

「Kira, let’s move. Follow me. 」

「Roger, elder sister. 」

Tetsu with the other two walking behind, finds the two men as soon as he turns the corner in the corridor. They were trying to help their fallen comrade to his feet when they were suddenly attacked and laid out on the floor helplessly.

Sansa and Kira arrive late and proceed down the hallway as if nothing had happened.

「Piece of cake. 」

「They can’t shoot in the hospital. They can only use batons or at worst tasers. With Kira and Tetsu there is no way we will lose. 」

「Hold on Elder Sister. Then we would lose if they were using heavy weapons? 」

Sansa puts her hand on Kira’s big head.

「Then we’ll prove ourselves next time… is what you two should say. No wait. 」

Sansa, who had controlled them with her hands stepped forward. Just as Sansa said, two guards appeared from around the corner of the corridor and rushed towards Sansa with batons at the ready. However they stopped. It was because Sansa raised her finger to her mouth. ‘Shhh’.

Leaving those guards alone, Sansa walks towards the door of a nearby hospital room. As if by coincidence the hospital room door opened and a little girl appeared. Sansa grinned seeing the girl rubbing her eyes sleepily.

「What’s wrong kid? 」

「I heard a loud noise. 」

「I guess I woke you up. I’m making a bit of a racket right now, so you should go back to sleep. Come on, we’ll get you to bed. 」

Sansa gently picks up the girl and steps into the hospital room. The guards are perplexed by the sight.

「Grrr. 」

The two of them noticed the roar of the beast coming from behind them right after Sansa closed the hospital room door. The two guards were torn apart by the white beast before they were even able to scream.

「Advisor, get up. Advisor! 」

「Huh? 」

Maboro Shiki was shaken violently. She was disappointed that it wasn’t her kind and patient husband who woke her up.

「What? I was just living happily with my future husband in a white house with a view of the sea. 」

「Were you having a dream after drinking all day and sleeping like a rock? 」

「Correct answer! Congratualations Nonomiya-san, you just won doubled rent for this month! 」

「Hey! That’s cruel Advisor! 」 Nanaejima Comprehensive Security Honorary Advisor Management Officer Himeko Nonomiya (age 22) says half crying.

Behind her, the woman who was looking at the large display on the wall smiled.

「By the way Advisor, I heard that Nonomiya recently got a boyfriend. 」

「Yes, let’s double the rent again! 」

「Kiyomi-san, I told you to keep that a secret! 」

The woman was Kiyomi Hannami (age 28), commander of the Nanaejima Comprehensive Security and Special Forces Unit. She smiles evilly as Nonomiya approaches her.

Shiki yawns as she gets up and scratches her head. She asks Kiyomi, 「So? How many people were killed? 」

「Sixteen people. The children who were targeted were annihilated. 」

As far as could be seen from the large monitors of the mobile headquarters, the only people lying on the floor were members of the assault team.

「Well, of course. 」

Shiki scratches her head. If you are attempting an assault in a hospital where you are restricted in your use of weapons and actions, you are going to fail.

「Who is it? Who’s the guy in charge this time? 」

「It’s Captain Sano of Assault Team 3. He’s been with our security company for three years and is a promising up-and-coming captain, in my opinion. 」

「Oh that young stud? 」

「Is young men your hobby honorary adviser? 」

Shiki is disappointed when she is shown the laptop that Kiyomi had.

「Sure it’s normally a bit overkill. Yet I don’t think it’s enough. 」

「It’s no wonder. Captain Sano was not involved in the rebellion five years ago.  He had three opponents. He must have thought that three men would be enough. 」

「That’s just an excuse. If they were serious they could have killed all my men! 」

The two of them were talking as if they knew everything. Nonomiya, however, could not quite keep up with their conversations.

Nonomiya looked at the large monitor on the wall. The figures of the three subjects are clearly shown in the pictures of the security cameras from the hospital.

「But aren’t we being taken advantage of too much? We’ve got surveillance footage of every move they’ve made. 」

「It’s because we are taking advantage that we have a better idea of what’s going on than they do. 」

「Honorary Advisor, how is that…」

Nonomiya took a deep breath. It was because Sansa Kurosu, who was walking in the security camera footage, turned towards us. Sansa grinned as if she knew we were looking at her on the large monitor. She just happened to look up at a nearby security camera right? Nonomiya desperately tells herself this.

Nonomiya aside, Shiki and Kiyomi were leisurely looking at the large monitor.

「Oh. That was Captain Sano, wasn’t it? The commander has been killed and there is confusion in the third division. 」

「I’ll give him credit for leaping out to save his men’s lives, but I don’t know about you but I’d like to see his face. 」

「…This is Adviser’s hobby. 」

「Nonomiya-chan. Congratulations your rent just doubled again. 」

「Y..you heard me? 」

「If you don’t want to be heard then keep your thoughts in your head. 」

「I mean, even if it’s a joke, if you increase my rent any more my salary to go up too…」

「What are you talking about? Your salary for this month has been cut by my authority, so you won’t be receiving a raise. And I’m not kidding about the rent either. 」

「I suddenly have debt for life! 」

Immediately after joining Nanaejima Comprehensive Security Service, Himeko Nonomiya (who for some reason was selected as a caretaker for the honorary advisor) is now forced to live in room 101 of Shiawase-so, and is caught between a rock and a hard place as far as rent is concerned. It’s dependant on the landlord Shiki’s discretion who is also her boss.

「Speaking of which Kiyomi. Is there any new young studs these days? 」

「So, what do you think about this? 」

When she sees the notebook computer held out Shiki’s eyes light up. 「Oh! 」.

「He’s pretty cool isn’t he?! Um, Seto-kun? 」

「By the way, that is Nonomiya’s boyfriend. 」

「Hello? Captain Shishi Jima? There is a boy I’d like you to fly to the Middle East. A boy named Seto. 」

「What are you doing? The president’s direct line is for emergencies only. That’s an abuse of power. I just started dating and I hate long-distance relationships! 」

「You don’t understand Nonomiya-san. Power exists to be abused. 」

Nonomiya is given a wink and a smile.

「You’re the worst you tyrant! 」

「If you keep praising me like that I’ll make you pay for my beer for the rest of the month. 」

「Do you really want to see me destroyed that much!? 」

「If you are then Seto-kun will be free. 」

「I’ll do my best to endure! I’ll do my best to protect Jin-kun! 」

The two women smiled watching Nonomiya shed tears.

「This kid is really funny. 」

「I’m a big fan of this one. 」

Once again the two of them turned their attention to the image on the large monitor.

「So what do we do now? We’ve got the Hamaji and the others on standby, ready to leave at a moment’s notice. 」

「We don’t need them. 」

「However, since this is a dispatch request from the general council, I wonder if some kind of battle results are necessary. 」

Hearing Harumi’s advice, Shiki stands up.

「It can’t be helped. I’m going alone. 」
