Isshin’s hand stopped moving the pieces again.

「Twin heavens…no way… the secret book…」

「What? You know of it?」

「I thought it was some kind of book.」

「It’s more of a catalog than a book. I found a set of molds in a treasure chest at a ruins. The contents of that book were an extensive instruction on how to make signs and what kind of demons they would summon.」

By the way, the pictures of the demons in the secret book are all drawn in sexy poses, and the contents are no different from what we would now call a gravure photo book.

Taisei gets embarrassed again remembering this and complains to cover it up.

Hearing Taisei’s complaints, Intoku, Doki, and Saiou all began to make a fuss. For those watching from the side, they aren’t able to understand what the demons are saying. It just sounds like ‘monibinya’, or ‘nyaigyai’. But Taisei who holds the gate can clearly hear what the demons are saying.

Intoku simply tugged on Taisei’s cloths and appealed to him for something.

Isshin continues playing shogi against Saiou while watching this situation play out.

「You seem pretty competent as far as I can tell.」

「Not as much as he says.」

「What does that mean?」

「It’s true that they have a wide variety of abilities, but the abilities that each demon can use is unique, and their individual abilities aren’t that skillful. For example Saiou is smart, but she can’t do anything else. She didn’t even want to walk, so she started making noise and demanded that I carry her. Intoku is very shy and sometimes won’t even show herself to me. Even though Doki is very strong, she is selfish and wants to do as she pleases. Even though she’s good at fighting, she’s weak compared to Masaaki’s 《Hekatonkeiru’s Iron Shackles》. In that respect, they are easier to use and more powerful since you can use them as soon as they are worn. But that doesn’t mean we can compete with sheer numbers. Unlike M who can pull so many gorokuma from her cloak, I can only summon so many of these girls at a time.」

Taisei just watches the shogi game progressing at a fast pace and complains about his Nanana collection.

And also when the demons heard his evaluation, they started complaining again.

Intoku makes herself disappear and then tugs on Teisei’s cloths. He doesn’t even know what she is complaining about.

Teisei couldn’t help but ask these demons, 「Do you really think of me as your master?」

Meanwhile, on the board it seems that Saiou is attacking from the left side of the board with her rook in the center of her side, and Isshin is defending it by moving the king to the right and solidifying his defenses. But who is currently winning?」 Teisai has no idea.

He watched with a puzzled expression as the shogi continued at a fast tempo with ‘pachin, pachin’ sounds.

「I heard that you guys have a lot of Nanana collection items. So why did you choose this Nanana collection? You had to have ones that were simpler and stronger.」

「Yeah maybe.」

「Then why?」

Then Saiou, who attacked Isshin’s rook that had made its way into her territory and made a counterattack from a corner with her gold piece, made a big announcement.

Hearing this Taisei turned to Isshin, who’s eyes were red.

「You. Can you read my mind?」

「Hmmm I wonder…」

Taisei is convinced when he sees Isshin suddenly start to hold his head down.

「Over the limit?」

「Simply put, I mean using the abilities of the Nanana collection beyond what you can handle. In the case of this 《the gate of twin heavens and a thousand flowers》 it can only summon three demons at a time according to Nanana’s explanation, but the fact is it can summon more than that. However it would put considerable strain on myself. When I tried to summon 7 at the same time I got a nosebleed and collapsed. You are doing more with that ability than what Nanana explained, right?」

「I won’t deny it…」

Hearing that answer Taisei once again looked shocked.

「You are a real pain in the ass, you know that?」

「I’d rather hear from you. Why is it that you, who has more power than Asumi Nishi-san, are following her and watching her back?」

「You’re measuring on your own scale right? It’s true that I’m better than Asumi at this kind of thing, but I can’t even compete with her in everything else.」

「But you are definitely stronger. So tell me, why don’t you even fight for number 1?」

「I don’t like it, it’s embarrassing. That’s not something you should talk with people about. I mean you can read minds right? So why not just read my mind?」

Isshin stares back at Taisei who is holding out his chest proudly.

And so Taisei thought about it.

I came to this island as soon as I finished junior high school. To this island where students can challenge their dreams. But I didn’t really have any dreams. I just wanted to get away from my parents and I thought it would be fun to go to a southern island, so I came here.

I was unable to fit in because everyone around me had something they wanted to do. Whether it was something big or something small it was something, but I had nothing. I felt as if I were a foreigner. So for awhile I just stayed in my room and played online games.
