「….wow. You didn’t even get hit once, that’s impressive. 」

Shiki asks Kira who was stunned, 「Isn’t that the guitar you can use to make sound that ruptures the air and bursts? 」

「It’s not a guitar, it’s a bass! But you are right. 」

「But was there a Nanana collection that looked so modern like that? 」

「No, it’s only the strings that are a Nanana collection. Originally the strings were used for a koto (TN: an old Japanese instrument), but Kira can’t play the koto, so she’s using the string this way. 」

「Well, this girl. She can’t even play the bass either. 」

「Wait a minute Anego! That’s going a bit too far. 」

Kira’s cheeks puff up as she gets riled up from Sansa’s teasing.

「I see, I understand how that fake bass works now. That’s very kind of you Onee-chan. I can’t believe you’re teaching me all this. 」

「It seems that you already know most of it, and I don’t care if you do. It’s true that you can avoid them, but the closer you are to the source of the sound, the more powerful the sound which means the wider the range the explosion will be. In other words Onee-chan, if you come near me I will hit you with an absolutely unavoidable explosion of sound. 」

Sansa is fidgety and acting embarrassed, it’s a bit strange.

「Wow, no way! This girl is so tough. 」

「Shut up Sansa! You’re the same age! 」

After glancing at someone the same age as Girori (TN: the Game master from Kamen Rider), she turns her attention back to Kira, who is preparing her bass

「Well, it certainly looks dangerous if I get too close. 」

「That’s right, it’ll be dangerous if you get close」

Shiki grinned when she heard this.

「Then I won’t come near you. 」

Shiki pulls a pistol out of the pocket of her fluttering jacket.

「What?! 」

Of course the bullets aren’t live rounds, they are rubber bullets, but they are still powerful.

The three bullets hit with great accuracy blowing off the head, breaking the neck, and denting the body of Kira’s bass.

Kira’s base collapsed in the blink of an eye in her arms, as she reeled from the impact.

「Nooooo! Lucyyyyyyy! 」

Kira collapses onto her bass, which has become a mangled mess. And she starts shouting a name.

「Lucy, Lucy, Lucyyyyyy! 」

She then hugged the remains of the bass and began crying.

「Well…」

「You are a demon! Instruments are musicians’ companions and souls! You should never mess with it! It’s the worst thing for a musician to have his instrument attacked, no matter how much of a fight you get into. Don’t you know that!? 」

「No, but you attacked me with that instrument. 」

「It’s not the instrument, Kira was attacking using music. 」

She wasn’t sure what it was but something seemed off.

The moment that Kria gently lowered the battered bass (Lucy) to the ground, Kira’s mood suddenly changed.

「I’m going to kill you. 」

Kira suddenly disappeared from Shiki’s field of vision.

「Oof. 」

Shiki’s suddenly arched her upper body. A silver trail passed in front of her eyes. It was the afterimage of the knife that Kira had swung when she quickly closed the gap between her and Shiki.

Kira, who is now in close range with Shiki, continues to swing the knife with an expressionless face. The knife work is great with no wasted movement at all.

「Hey, that’s dangerous! 」

Kira angrily yells at Shiki, who continues to dodge the knives by a thin line while taunting her.

「Die you noisy old lady! 」

「Huh? 」

At that moment, Shiki who had been avoiding combat to this point stepped forward. She quickly and effortlessly takes the knife out of Kira’s hand.

「Ah! 」

Immediately after that, the solid base of Sansa’s palms entered Kira’s stomach.

Kira was blown away several meters by the attack and rolled across the ground. She immediately tried to get up but began to spew vomit that came up from her stomach, then remained on the ground immobilized.

「Remember who your older sister is you bottle drinking little brat」, Shiki spat at Kira while she was still grounded.

「Hey, Shiki. 」

A laid back voice calls out to Shiki.

「What is it Sansa… no. What the do you want bitch? 」

The moment she answered, Shiki’s body was suddenly began to be pulled by some powerful force. When she looked over she saw Sansa holding a strange gourd with a fearless smile on her face.

「Hey Sansa! Is that? 」

「That’s right, it’s a Nanana collection. It seems to be 《the same gourd that Kinkaku and Ginkaku has》.」

Of course Shiki knows about Kinkaku and Ginkaku. It’s the name of the demons that appear in Journey to the West. Shiki can’t believe it. She remembers that the demons had a strange gourd that when a name was called and the person responded, they were sucked into it.

「That’ can’t be true! That kind of thing can’t exist! That was a made up story! 」

「It has the same power, but comes from a different place, judging by the silly name. 」

「Where was that? 」

「I don’t know. Well, since it’s from Nanana, maybe she went to the immortal realm and got it there. 」

「How is that possible? 」

Even though she’s can’t help shouting, Shiki agrees.

Shiki is being drawn more and more to the gourd. She’s trying to hold her ground with both feet but is being pulled closer and closer without fail.

She needs to hold on somehow…

「….I think, but wait. 」

Shiki easily changes her mind.

She’s already fallen into the enemy’s trap, and it’s certain that she’ll be sucked into that gourd here. Then what should she do? Instead of trying to avoid being sucked in, how about finishing things first?

Shiki sits back, draws her right hand back, and concentrates. She exhales and takes aim. She determines the trajectory in which she should move.

Shiki stops resisting the pulling force, but instead uses it to run at a breakneck speed towards Sansa.

「Nuh!? 」

Seeing Shiki coming straight towards her, Sansa has a surprised look on her face.

Shiki captures that expression while imagining. Her right arm is a sharpened spear.

Just before being sucked in, Shiki’s spear is released.

And then Shiki’s figure shrunk into a small size and disappeared into the gourd.

「H..hurray Anego. Let’s quickly close the lid and seal it. 」

Kira was still holding her stomach in pain as she got up and let out the cry of joy.

Karan

「Eh? Anego? 」

Sansa had dropped the gourd with her mouth still open and fell to her knees.

「Ah… huh? 」

She falls to the ground with a stunned expression on her face.

「W…what’s wrong Anego? 」

Kira manages to stand up and hurries to Sansa.

「W..what happened? 」

Sansa who had collapsed is confused and doesn’t understand what happened? Not only that, her body isn’t listening to her at all.

「She’s got a concussion. 」

Sansa who still had her bell rung and Kira was leaning in close to her, were both surprised at the sound of that voice. They were then astonished to see Shiki standing right next to the uncovered gourd that was on the ground.

「Ugh, this alcohol smells so bad! I can’t drink this! 」

「W..what do you mean? 」

Seeing Kira confused, Shiki grinned.

「Oh this is nothing. Before I could get sucked in I gave Sansa a tap to the jaw that shook her brain. Don’t worry, I shook it up in a way that won’t cause lasting damage. But for the time being it’s best if she doesn’t push herself too hard. She has a concussion so she should go to the hospital and get a proper examination by a doctor. 」

Then Sansa remembered.

The moment she inhaled, something was coming towards her face.

But under such extreme conditions could she really pinpoint that target?

It’s because she can do things like that that Shiki Maboro is counted among the GREAT 7.

Shiki laughs while looking down at Kira, who looks frightened as she is unable to move her body at will.

「Well, my body has finally warmed up, but it’s time to take a break…」

Shiki jumps back.

「Grrrrr. 」

A growling white tiger named Hakutei swings a huge claw in a n attack at the place where Shiki had been standing. Hakutei stands guard in front of Sansa as if protecting them.

A giant tiger that had no shape or shadow until just a moment ago suddenly attacked. Of course I had no idea that there was a being that could do this.

「A Nanana collection? 」

Facing off with a mysterious giant tiger doesn’t make Shiki scared, instead she feels the blood rushing through her body as she is overjoyed.

「Welcome. 」

Shiki happily welcomes the tiger with a sinister smile on her face.
