「W..what…. is that so?」

「Huh? Didn’t I write it in the trade details that ‘Apart from the existing rules, we will hold 10 matches with a rate of 30 coins.’?」

Batako-san grins.

「W..wait…」

「That why the payment you just made is completely separate from the actual game.」

「Hang on…」

「In other words, the total number of coins you need to pay me is 400.」

「Wait! There’s no way that’s acceptable…」

Batako-san grinned while looking down at the transaction details she received from President Yuiga.

 

「Read the fine print carefully. Everyone knows this.」

 

Ikusaba-san, whose face turned pale, could no longer even make a sound.

「Ooops, it looks like you’re missing about 15 coins. That would be a 《debt》. If you don’t do something about it, you’ll be disqualified.」

Batako-san, who shows no mercy even to the dead, gets up from her chair, walks over to Ikusaba-san (who is looking down) and whispers in his ear, 「That’s why I’m making the offer. I’m saying I would buy that cool ring for 400 coins. It’s just an accessory, and your current loss is wiped clean. Isn’t that a cheap cost?」

「…」

「Come on. Take that ring off now.」

「No need for that.」

 

Hear that voice, everyone present turned their attention to the entrance of the room.

The person who had appeared was Tensai Ikkyu, the great detective from and team mate of Ikusaba-san.

She then placed the twenty coins she had in her hand on a nearby table.

「Now the debt is covered.」

Seeing this, Batako-san asked happily, 「What’s up with that girl?」

Well, I went to the bank and sold them one dice ticket. They bought it for 20 coins.」

Batako-san laughs happily as Tensai grins.

「I see what you mean. Since the debt has been paid, there’s no need to sell the ring.」

Then Batako-san whispers in Ikusaba-san’s ear, 「Well you were right, the match was a very efficient way to destroy you.」

Batako-san grabs exactly 15 coins from the coins placed by Tensai on the table and looks at me and Lady Ageha.

「Hey, let’s get the hell out of here guys.」

I panicked and chased after Batako-san. When I looked back, Ikusaba-san was on his knees on the floor with his head drooped down.

Halfway through the 12th turn (After the 《forced acquisition game》)

– Great Detective Team (Blue Spades),  Great Detective & Phantom Thief,  Coins: 5

– Sakura Team (Yellow Diamonds), Yamato Nadeshiko & Military Uniform, Coins: 232

– Lady Team (Green Clubs), Lady & Servant A & Servant B, Coins: 494

– Cat Ear Team (Red Hearts), Masked Cat Ear & Cat Ear-chan, Coins: 118

After just one 《forced acquisition game》  the Great Detective Team, which had been leading the pack by a long shot, was down to just five coins.

Not only that, but Ikusaba-san’s Nanana collection was also exposed.

If we were going to defeat Ikusaba-san, it was going to be at the end of the game. This was the plan but it had already been accomplished.

It’s as Batako-san said, they are on completely different levels.

Batako-san.

Oh man, this girl is not even funny.

With use of the Nanana collection, Batako-san just crushed Ikusaba Hiiyo (who was thought to be the strongest) and has come to the main hall.

No one can say anything about her appearance.

Nearly 500 coins were piled up on the pedestal placed in front ofour base, and the coins that had been on the Great Detective Team’s pedestal were gone.

When we arrived at the our team base, Batako-san sat down on a chair and looked up at us with a grin on her face.

「Yo. It’s been awhile Juugo Yama.」

「…um, yeah it’s been awhile.」

「Servant A, do you know this person?」, asks Lady Ageha who is standing next to me.

「She’s an acquaintance of sorts…」

「Who the hell is that?」

「Don’t worry about it. I’m just a pinch hitter for Servant B.」

I noticed something when I looked at Batako-san’s wrist.

「I see. That bracelet is from the Nanana collection.」

The bracelet on Batako-san’s arm is the same one that Tetsu-kun was wearing on his right wrist.

「Well, who knows?」, says Batako-san.

Lady Ageha makes a statement to Batako-san to let her know what is first and foremost the most important thing to know.

「Anyway, I’m the leader of this team, so I’ll have you follow my instructions.」

「Huh? Don’t tell me what to do.」

Batako-san grabs Lady Ageha’s arm and pulls her onto her lap.

「Hey! Where do you think you are touching me? How shameless!」

「Soon I’ll make sure you can’t be without me.」

Batako-san was playing with the young lady, who was sitting on her lap, and had her completely under her control.

「Hey, stop messing around and answer me. Who the hell are you!?」

「Me? I’m called the queen.」

「Queen? No way, do you mean the queen of the Three Skulls!?」

Lady Ageha’s complexion became more and more pale.

「Eh? Is Batako-san really famous?」

「She’s not just famous! She’s the shadow ruler of Nanaejima and is said to be on the same level as the GREAT7!」

「On the same level as the GREAT7 huh?」

Batako-san scratches her cheek and looks in the opposite direction.

「A..anyways, please let go!」

Batako-san grins while looking at Lady Ageha who had escaped her grasp.

「Don’t look so scared. As I said earlier, I just want you to think of me as a helper.」

「We are grateful for your help, but how long will you be able to help us?」

I’d prefer if she went home, but I’m afraid that’s not a possibility. When Lady Ageha asked this question, Batako-san gave her a wicked smile.

「Until I feel like it. Till then, let’s get along Ojousama.」

 

Then at the beginning for the 13th turn, something unusual was discovered.

Tensai was the only person at the Great Detective Team base.

「Hey, Ojouchan. What happened to that fool Ikusaba?」, Batako-san asks.

Tensai answers grumpily, 「Looks like he’ll be taking a rest in the waiting room for awhile.」

A rest…

「Oh no. You got scared and locked yourself in your room after just one time. He’s so funny.」

Batako-san laughed loudly.

In response to the ridicule, the other participants (including me) remained silent.

Ikusaba-san’s absence. I can only assume that Ikusaba-san has run away, just like Batako-san said. However, it was the man who so recently had been playing us for fools. It was just from one 《forced acquisition game》 loss against Batako-san that made him run away.

I was once again shocked by how amazing Batako-san was to accomplish this.

The only silver lining is that we are allies, not enemies.

…No, even that doesn’t make me feel at ease.

After flashing a quick smile, Batako-san turns her back on the rest of the team and sits down in a chair at the team base.

「Geez, he’s still a difficult kid to deal with.」, Batako-san mumbles.

What does that mean?

At the end of the 12th turn

On the 13th turn the Cat Ears Team and the Sakura Team both reached the 《crossroads of fate》 and both selected another lap. After passing through the gate they both proceeded across the remaining squares for the dice roll.

At the same time, the number shown on the counter object held by a rabbit changes from 2 to 3 and the squares 9, 11, 16, and 31 on the monitor disappear.

As a result, the looping course was reduced to 32 squares.

Furthermore, the rates in the 《forced acquisition games》 are expected to increase.

The Great Detective team has fallen into a deep recession. However, due to Ikusaba-san’s unexpected withdrawal into the waiting room, Tensai continues alone. However she is still the great detective, Ikkyu Tensai. She safely completes the challenges of each square and increases her total coins.

As sugoroku continues, there is a problem…

「Batako-san has disappeared.」

This means Batako-san isn’t at the team base where she is supposed to be.

Well, we were allowed to move freely around the set, but Batako-san hasn’t been seen. Even after the 15th turn was over she still hadn’t come back. To be honest I still wouldn’t feel at ease if she was still here though.

 

 At the end of the 15th turn

Meanwhile, on the 16th turn, a 《forced acquisition game》 broke out.
