Nanana’s Buried Treasure Volume 9 Chapter 3.6
He slips past Daikurou who had Sansa in a headlock, and Sansa who was punching Daikurou in the side while in the headlock, and stands in front of Tensai who is unusually nervous and D’ark who is flustered.
「Ummm, I’m…!」
「FWaah!」
Tensai has somehow managed to pull herself together and introduces herself, and D’ark who is next to her. Koma reaches out a hand while a smile, takes their hands to shake, and then walks away with a gentle smile on his face.
Tensai and D’ark looked at each other in surprise, but they were urged to go and sit at a table prepared for them on the gardening terrace.
「T..thanks.」
「E..excuse me.」
As the two sit down with tense expressions on their faces, Koma turns his attention to Sansa and Dakurou.
「Uh, don’t get so angry, Koma.」
「You’re right, I should have dealt with the guests before dealing with Sansa. I’ll be more careful next time.」
Just by being seen by Koma, the two stop fighting and start apologizing.
Sansa comes over and sits down at the table, while Daikurou quickly organizes the blueprints Koma has left and cleans up before coming over. Koma also tries to sit in an empty seat, but Sansa grabs him by the arm and pulls him along.
「Hehe, I’m not giving this up.」
She puts him on her lap and hugs him from behind. Koma doesn’t seem particularly opposed to this and lets her hug him however she likes. Sansa has a very happy look on her face.
「That’s amazing, Mutsumi-san.」
「Yeah….」
Tensai readily agrees with what D’ark says.
Tensai has been feeling uneasy since she’s been in front of Mutsumi Koma for a while now. She is afraid of making remarks unbecoming of a great detective in front of someone like a god.
Daikurou glares at Sansa, who has Koma on her lap with her cheek happily buried in his head. He has a very displeased look on his face. He clears his throat then turns to Tensai and the others.
「Well, leaving aside the fact that you’ve brought and extraneous guest, I heard from President Ikkaku that you guys were coming. Why would you like to see Mutsumi today?」
Tensai answeres Daikurou’s questions as she looks down at him.
「The reason I came here today is because I wanted to talk to you, Mutsumi-dono.」
Stare
「Actually, it was ten years ago….」
Smile
「M..Mutsumi-dono?」
「Oh, don’t worry about it. Koma generally doesn’t speak.」
That was the reply from Sansa, who was hugging Koma from behind with her chin rested on top of his head.」
「So the conversation….」
「I’ll talk in your stead. That’s ok right Koma?」
Nods
「That’s right. So anyway, Daikuro. Hurry up and bring me some tea. That’s the only value you have.」
「Who do you think you are?」
Daikuro was shaking with fear, but Koma smiled at him and he shut up.
「…If Koma says so, there’s no helping it. I’ll be back shortly.」
And with that, Daikuro left the place.
「…Hey, Tensai. Did Mutsumi say something just now?」
「I don’t think he said anything, at least not verbally.」
As if by telepathy, Sansa and Daikuro were following Koma’s will.
「So? What do you want to ask me and Koma?」,Sansa asked, and Tensai got ack to the point.
「It’s about the murder of Nanana Ryuugajou ten years ago.」
Not only Sansa, but Koma looked surprised too.
「Why do you want to know?」
「Because I’m investigating the murder of Nanana-dono」
「There’s nothing else to talk about. It was a waste of time, so hurry up and go home.」
Sansa tried to end the conversation there, but he felt Koma stir in his arms and clicked her tongue.
「Well, if Koma says so, I have no choice but to tell you.」
Wait. Tensai and the others were pretty sure he didn’t say anything, but they decided to ignore it.
「First of all, I want to hear about what happened at the time of the incident.」
「That’s not necessary. You’ve read all of Ikkaku’s records, after all. Tell me what you know instead. We’ll talk after that.」
Tensai was momentarily lost in thought as Sansa spoke, as if she knew everything about their actions. But she quickly regained her composure and began to speak.
「For now, to give you the gist, Nanana-dono was murdered on August 14th, ten years ago. A full ten years will soon have passed. The body was discovered in Room 202 of Happiness Dorm. Nanana-dono’s stabbed body was first discovered by Shiki Maboro. It was discovered early in the morning of the murder. The estimated time of death is between 9pm and midnight. Shiki-dono’s alibi has been verified by her boyfriend at the time. What’s more, it has been proven that all 26,848 people who were on Nanaejima at the time could not have murdered Nanana-dono.」
It’s not just the people involved at the time. It’s a huge amount of records that record the actions of everyone who was on Nanaejima at the time. That’s the result of Shyunju Ikkaku.
「What else do you want to know when you know all that?」
「It’s something that’s not in the records.」
「That’s not possible.」
That’s right. There is nothing about that murder, about Nanaejima at that time, that is not written in that report.
So Tensai asks Sansa, 「So I want you to tell me what happened after Nanana died.」
「What happened after she died?」
「After I heard what Futaba and Tsuki said, I was curious about what happened back then.」
「You mean that Alpamesto is the culprit?」
「That’s not true, as proven by Ikkaku’s report.」
「If that’s the case….」
「But there’s no mention of what happened to GREAT7 after Nanana died.」
At Tensai’s words, Sansa taps her fingers on the table while still holding Koma.
「So that means the ones you suspect the most are us, GREAT7.」
Koma, who had been smiling until now, puffs out his cheeks.
「Oh no, Koma’s angry now.」
「I’m a great detective. I seek the truth, I explore possibilities. Feelings are secondary.」
「I see. You can’t find any holes in the case, so you’re trying to find out if the culprit made any mistakes after committing the crime. Well, that’s not bad. You’re digging into the case from a different angle than the report. Great, I’ll tell you. But there’s one condition.」
「Let’s hear it.」
