Three days after explaining things to the old patricians, now nobles, I gathered the representatives from the autonomous cities and allied cities at the palace. I only told them that there would be an ‘important announcement’.

My intention of building a new country was never exactly a secret, but I didn’t exactly publicly promote it either. Thus, the city-states focused on their internal affairs, and without their own intelligence organizations had no way of knowing about it.

Because of this, many of the representatives looked anxious.

It’s understandable.

The Kirisian regional powers of the South—Lezado, Gehenna, and Nemes—are already under the influence of our country. Without foreign allies to turn to, any rebellion would be quickly crushed.
