Chapter 100×1 Part 1

(Interlude 3) The student council of Sairei Academy – Part 1

「It seems that Sairyou are going to hold a boys-girls social event on the same day as the quiz tournament.」

「Oh, my.」

「Hee~」

The information brought by the vice-president, Lee Weifei, caused Mitsuse Rinne, the student council president, and Oomori Norika, similarly a vice-president, to express mild surprise.

Though, their expressions quickly turned to scornful smiles.

「They will drive out the students from Sairei (our school) by 3:00 p.m., and after three hours of cleanup and preparation, they will hold an on-campus camp. It seems that they’re proceeding with the preparations while doing their best to keep it a secret from the outside world, but…」

「Pfft. I wonder if they think no one will find out.」

「So foolish, aren’t they~?」

「So what are we going to do?」

「Hmm… nothing in particular…」

When asked by Weifei, Rinne’s answer was vague.

「As far as I’m concerned, it doesn’t really matter either way~.」

「I suppose so. Rather than causing trouble over there…」

「You want to lure them into our home turf and lay your hands on them without fail?」

「Ufufu.」

Rinne chuckled at Norika’s words, who had read her intention.

「In order to do that… we need to make sure we win during the event! Do you two understand?」

As Rinne took one-eighty and looked at the two with sharp eyes, Weifei and Norika nodded their heads deeply.

◇ ◇ ◇

The place was Sairei Academy High school, located in the northern suburbs of Sakate City in Saitama Prefecture.

It had a short history among the high schools belonging to the Ayakuni Group, and partly because it was established to specialize in arts and culture, it had facilities as extensive as a small university and a large site area.

The student council also didn’t rent a room in a building on the school grounds, as was the case at Sairyou Academy.

It was a building dedicated to the student council, which was built with the budget that lost its allocation purpose after they lost to Sairyou Academy at the co-ed transformation presentation 15 years ago.

The area per floor was about the size of three classrooms, and it was a three-story building.

The reason why it sported an exterior that looked more like a fashionable office building rivaling the ones you could find in a prime location in the metropolitan area than a school building was because they had accepted such a request from the student council officers at the time.

On the first floor, they had even taken the trouble to set up a reception desk for visitors at the entrance and a meeting room about the size of two classrooms.

On the second floor, there was a reference room and a multi-purpose hall equipped with tools comparable to the ones you would find in an audio-visual room.

On the third floor was the student council office where Rinne and the others were currently chatting.

No, although it was called the student council office, it did not look like a place where high school students usually spent their time.

The room in front of the stairs sported chic interior design in dark gray and brown tones. There was a majestic black leather lounge suit, reminiscent of the director’s room of some large corporation, and a massive oak table arranged in a U-shape, where the treasurer and secretary were currently engaged in clerical work.

At the center of it, separated by a door, was the room in which Rinne and the others were relaxing. As if a set, the interior design and the furnishings were matched, from the luxurious chandelier to the tables and chairs, even the chest of drawers and sideboards, everything was in the rococo style with white as the base color and abundant use of gold, using graceful and elegant curves.

This place alone had the atmosphere reminiscent of the royal court at the height of the French monarchy.

And then, right now, a knock sounded from the door leading to the back of the room, and when Rinne answered, the door was opened and a wagon with a tea set on it came in.

Pushing the wagon was a boy who appeared to be about 12 or 13 years old.

He had curly black hair and dark skin. He was a beautiful oriental boy with a finely chiseled face and distinctive features. He wore black short pants on the bottom and a white shirt on the top, with a bow tie tied around his neck.

「Miladies, I have brought you some tea.」

「Oh, my? Is it that time of the day already?」

When the waiter boy called out in a boy soprano that had not yet gone through a voice change, Rinne and the others looked at each other.

It was not like they had any particular business today, but it seemed that as they gathered and chatted here right after school was over, before they knew it, it had turned 3:00 pm.

The set on the wagon alone would probably blow off an office worker’s monthly income with ease, and when the cups with gorgeous patterns were placed in front of the three, steamy tea was deftly poured into them.

Even the cookies arranged on the platter were not something you could find in a supermarket around the area, but a fine item they had taken the trouble to order from a high-end confectionery store in the metropolitan area.

Truly a lavishly funded elegant after-school tea time.

This, too, was a custom that had taken root from the tradition of having the daughter of a wealthy family act as student council president for generations.

「Today it’s Darjeeling, huh.」

Rinne murmured as she held her cup in her hand and enjoyed the mellow aroma rising from it.

Gently bringing the cup close to her, she tasted the first sip without making a sound.

Still sporting a composed expression on her face, she showed a faint smile.

「Well… I don’t mind giving it a passing grade.」

「Ye… It is an honor…!」

「Good for you, Amir. Nowadays, you finally managed to get Rinne’s approval. It was terrible in the beginning, after all~」

「Ah… Ye… s.」

Before they knew it, Norika’s left arm had reached for the boy’s buttocks and was rubbing them in a lewd manner.

「Amir is still a cherry, so keep it in moderation, okay?」

「Nufufu. What a nice ass. Hey, Rinne-san~, can I eat it?」

「No.」

「Tsk.」

Paying no attention to the person in question, who was flustered, the exchange between Rinne and Norika continued, but as usual, Weifei alone was heartily helping herself with the cookies, assuming a stance that it was none of her business.

Norika, who continued to play with Amir, and Rinne seemed to not have heard the knock, and when they noticed the fact that the door was open and the second-year secretary and treasurer were peeking in, they straightened themselves up.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Amir bowed and quickly walked back into the kitchen at the back of the room.

「I, I am terribly sorry, for interrupting your conversation.」

「What is it?」

Apparently, a student who had a business with Weifei had visited the student council office, so she downed the cookie she had started to eat with her tea and left her seat by herself.

When she came back to where the two were, she was holding a thick blue envelope.

「The first report on that Sairyou boy has come in.」

「Oh my! I’ve been waiting for it!」

「Oh dear, I’m so curious~」

Rinne and Norika watched with anticipation as Weifei cut the envelope open with a paper knife.

The platter, which still had a few cookies left on it, was pushed to the side and the contents of the envelope was spread in the middle of the table.

First, there were three photographs. The subject of the photos was Yuu, taken inside the school and a place that appeared to be the front of an apartment building.

However, they were taken not from the front but from the side, and from a considerable distance, so you could infer that they were taken secretly.

And then, there were two sheets of A4-size printed paper folded up.

Rinne and Norika, who moved closer from either side of Weifei, who opened the paper and showed it to them, traced the written words with their eyes.
