Kanbayashi-sensei’s speech continued.
「Starting from today’s after school, the club activities observation will start. So I say, but there are only a limited number of clubs that you boys can join, so I don’t think you will go to the sports clubs even by mistake, though.」
As the teacher said so, the students nodded to each other as if to say, 「That’s given」.
In this world, women were the main players in sports as well. Although not in the same level as in the world Yuu knew, professional baseball also existed.
However, the reason why it had not become so popular as to become a national sport was probably because the population and fans had ended up migrating to softball as well.
As they had a small population, there were no men’s team sports, and they had only barely managed to keep individual amateur matches going.
In order for it to continue as a professional sport, they could not help but have women act as main players, which meant, gender reversal had occurred in this field as well, such was what Yuu had gleaned from the materials he read in the library.
Among the men of the past, there were also some men of valor who trained hard in an attempt to become professionals and participate in the matches, which were dominated by female players.

The school had a bread store and a cafeteria, but lacking the courage to mix with the girls who were occupying the majority of these places, the first-year boys were eating their bento in the classroom.
In this world where gender reversal had occurred, the public stance was that women were to go out into the world and work, while about half of the men were to hold down the fort at home.
However, after the new law came into effect, in relation to the even greater allowances for households with men, most of them had ended up deciding to hire a housekeeper.
With the introduction of a housekeeper and once their children grew to a certain age, men who were freed from housework and childcare gradually integrated into the society.
There, they made new connections with new women and sowed their baby seeds.
Due to the domino effect where it allowed way more women to bond with men, as opposed to just a fixed minimum number of wives, the new law had obtained the approval of the majority of the population. In exchange, though, it came with a system where women who never had the chance to give birth were levied with heavier taxes.
At any rate, all the boys in this classroom brought their own bento prepared either by their fathers or housekeepers.
At Yuu’s place, too, Akiko went out of her way to deliver the lunch boxes at 7:30 a.m. from the day the high school classes started.
Naturally, she received an increase in her overtime salary for this, but as a result, he was able to eat a delicious bento every day, so it was something he was very grateful for.
The person who just spoke to Yuu was Higashino Rei, who was seated in front of him.
Sporting bobbed hair-styled longish black hair, fair-skinned and androgynous features, and a height of about 160 cm, he was a boy who would not seem strange even if others said that he was a girl.
His personality was also quiet and reserved.
He most likely did it unconsciously, but even the sidelong glance that he sometimes showed when turned back to look at him had a sexiness in it that made Yuu feel something strange inside, even though he was a man.
Based on his impression on the first day, Yuu thought: I think he would look good if I had him dress up as a girl; but he was surprised to hear that the person in question had actually worn girls’ clothes until elementary school and accepted them without any resistance.
Yuu thought that most of the boys in this classroom were dainty and lacked the masculinity that he knew, but that, too, was inevitable.
In this world, the abduction of boys was a serious problem, and both individual and organized crimes were making the mass media astir.
Children who had yet to enter puberty, as opposed to adults, were traded across borders for very high prices.
In other words, the goal was to kidnap them at an early age and raise them to become men of their own liking.
And then, having multiple boys at their beck and call was the common dream of the wealthy women of this world.
Therefore, parents with boys, the ones on the self-defense side, could not afford to be picky about their means, either.
Employing male security personnel and having them protect their sons 24 hours a day was given, but not only would they give them names that could be taken as either boy’s or girl’s names, for their attires, let alone gender-free, they would even go all the way and dress them in girl’s clothes to prevent them from being targeted.
It was a natural result for the boys who were raised in such a manner to lack the masculinity of those from the world Yuu used to live in.
「What about you, Yamada?」
「Hnn…?」
Yuu, who was at a loss for an answer, decided to pass the matter to Yamada Masaya on his left side for the time being.
In fact, the Yuu of his former world lived a modest life in a single mother household, so as opposed to belonging to any club in high school, he worked hard at part-time jobs in order to earn money for his own use.
As such, there was no club activity that immediately came to mind.
At a glance, Masaya was a nervous-looking man with his hair neatly parted into a tight seven-three and silver-rimmed glasses.
In fact, Yuu was constantly told off by him on a daily basis.
However, this was because he not only stared intently at the girls they ran into when they changed classrooms, but also waved his hands in response to their calls, which was too careless and thoughtless behavior for a boy in this world.

After chewing and swallowing the rice in his mouth, Masaya wiped his mouth and turned to Yuu.
He was meticulous in that part as well.
「I took piano lessons until middle school, after all. As expected, I didn’t have the confidence to be a pianist, but I like music, so I’m thinking of joining the concert band club.」
「Heh.」
When Yuu took a look at the hands of Masaya, who was lean and was about the same height him, he could tell that he had long fingers.
「I haven’t really given it much thought, but if there’s a club activity that sounds interesting, I might consider it, I guess. What about you, Higashino?」
Being asked, Rei made a troubled face.
「U, umm. The thing is, you see, I’m at a loss. I’ve been learning tea ceremony and flower arrangement since I was little, so I figured I could try to continue them in high school, too, but… As expected, it’d be scary if there were a lot of girls there, so….」
「Haa.」
「Given Higashino’s personality, if he gets invited by a large number of female seniors when he goes there to observe their club activity, I guess it would be hard for him to say no.」
Yuu agreed with Masaya’s conjecture.
True enough, he seemed to have a weak personality.
Yuu gave it some thought as he ate the chicken karaage that was included in the side dish.
As always, every side dish prepared by Akiko was delicious, which made him feel happy.
「In that case, should I go with you? If you just don’t find it to your liking, I’ll properly tell them about it in your stead. While looking around together, I might be able to find a club activity that pique my interest, after all.」
This was the first year of his precious high school life. Rather than spending it while being surrounded by boys, it would be more convenient if he could come into contact with girls through club activities.
While he was at it, it would also help Rei, who was seated near him and with whom he became a good friend as soon as he entered the school, killing two birds with one stone.
「Really! Yay! Thank you, Hirose-kun!」
Raising both hands modestly in a gut pose, Rei turned to Yuu and gave him a smile so cute that it was captivating even for a man.
Yuu inwardly thought: Even those gestures of his are more girly than the girls around these parts, huh.
