Chapter 2 Part 2
Yuu did not notice that the two women present were casually giving him passionate glances there.
That was because he was puzzled by the body he saw with his own two eyes.
W, why am I so skinny?!
His belly, which should have been bloated, was flat, and his right arm, which was bandaged at the elbow, as well as his waist were slender.
It was as if he had returned to his teenage years. No, maybe he was even slimmer than he was back then.
「Can you tell me your name?」
Yuu, who had been looking down at his own body, hurriedly raised his head.
「Ah… I’m Hirose Yuu.」
「What about your date of birth?」
「June 30, 1975.」
「Can you tell me your family structure?」
「Err, my father died early, and I have a mother and an older sister.」
I hit my head, so these questions must be to check if I have any impairment in my memory.
Yuu was a little nervous, but he was relieved that he was able to say it smoothly.
「Hmm. It seems that you know who you are, so that’s a relief.」
The old doctor looked back.
「Yuu-chan… Thank goodness. You know mama as well, don’t you?」
「Huh?」
「Huh?」
The two involuntarily looked at each other.
Then the old doctor interrupted.
「What, have you ended up forgetting what your mother looks like?」
「My mother… My parent? This person is? No, no, no… My mother is not such a young and beautiful lady!」
As far as Yuu was concerned, a story from an anime movie he had watched in his middle school days came to mind.
I’m not some sort of red comet, so for a woman who is younger than me to be my mother, what kind of joke is this?
「Yuu-chan, no way….」
Hearing Yuu’s words, the woman expressed sadness and confusion.
However, after her mouth loosened up for a moment when she realized that she had been called young and beautiful, she floated a complicated expression on her face.
「Hmm. You have been in a coma for three days since you were brought to this hospital, but do you remember what happened to you?」
Yuu tried to answer the old doctor’s question.
He recalled it just now when he had just woken up, so it was an easy question.
However, now that some time had passed, his memory seemed to be getting muddled, and he felt as if a completely unfamiliar scene was gradually emerging in his mind.
「I believe… I slipped down a slope and… someone was chasing me? No, that can’t be right. On a pedestrian bridge… That’s not it, when I was entering an intersection, err… a woman… Yes, that’s it! I was hit by a car and… Hmm? Someone was clinging to me from behind?」
*Shiver* Not only did a sense of discomfort run through Yuu’s body, a tremendous amount of fear emerged.
「Ah, ah, aaaaaaaaaaa… No! Nooo! So many of them, attacked me! Somebody, help me! Stop, stopppppppp!!!」
「Yuu-chan!」
「Sedate him.」
Restraining the beautiful woman who tried to approach Yuu, who was holding his head in his hands, the old doctor instructed the nurse in a calm voice.
◇ ◇ ◇
The old doctor and the woman talked while looking at Yuu who had become quiet after the sedative was administered.
「As I thought, due to him hitting his head, he seems to be experiencing confusion with his memory.」
「Doctor, is Yuu-chan alright?!」
「Calm down. At any rate, it will take time for his injury to heal. All I can say is, for a while, if we let him rest and let him feel more at ease, he will eventually regain his memory too, no?」
「Y… Yes… Kuh! Those women who did this to Yuu-chan, I will never forgive them!」
As for Yuu, unable to understand the reason why the woman was so angry, he was in a daze, lost in thought.
And then, as he lifted both of his hands and stared silently at them, he thought.
Something, is off.
「I’m sorry. Could I ask you to show me a mirror?」
「A, a mirror?!」
「Yes.」
For some reason, the woman was in a panic.
「Y, your face is alright! There’s not even a single scratch on your face!」
「No, that’s not what I meant.」
He must have judged that there was no particular problem with it.
When the old doctor gave her a nod, the nurse pulled out a hand mirror from the chest drawer and handed it to Yuu.
Seeing his own face in the mirror was the biggest surprise of the day for Yuu.
「Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh?!」
「Y, Yuu-chan?!」
「Do you still have some sort of trauma?」
As the woman started to panic again, she was restrained by her hands by the old doctor and the nurse.
「No, umm… No, that’s not it. This face….」
「There doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with it, though?」
「Just as I told you, right? As someone who hit his head hard, you miraculously have no scar in your face. Other than that, you only sprained your ankle and got some scrapes on your elbow and knee, and they will heal in no time!」
「I, I see… Hmm…」
Reflected in the mirror was not the face of a 40 year old man he was familiar with, but that of a beautiful boy overflowing with youthfulness in his mid-teens, one with an overly well-defined features.
The so-called Caucasian face. Looking at his finely chiseled facial features, one would think he was Western rather than Japanese descent.
After speedily looking up and taking a close look at the woman, he checked again in the mirror, and it was safe to say that he had inherited her features in his eyes and nose. It would not be strange even if she and he were to be said that they have a mother-son relationship.
When he first saw her, he thought she was about 30 or 31 years old, but in fact, maybe she had lived longer than that.
His skin color alone seemed to be closer to that of an average Japanese person, as opposed to brown.
He did not know what his father looked like, but he was certain that he had inherited the best parts of his parents, and he was an unquestionable handsome man who would not be embarrassed to show his face anywhere.
As for Yuu, he recalled a movie he had watched before.
It was about a bathhouse technician in ancient Rome who ended up time traveling to modern Japan when he took a bath or a dip in the water. He looked like a younger version of the actor, who sported overly well-defined features, playing the role of the Roman in that movie.
Is this for real? What in the world happened to me…? How did things turn out like this…?
He tried rubbing his eyes and pinching his cheeks, but the beautiful boy in the mirror also mirrored the same action and frowned in pain.
If it had been himself that had become young again, as nonsensical as it might be, he might have been able to accept it.
However, reflected in the mirror was the face of a beautiful boy he had never seen before.
Yuu’s mind fell into chaos.
「…!」
Perhaps looking at the mirror had served as the trigger.
Various footage he had never seen before were surging into his mind.
As his mind could not keep up with the processing speed, Yuu fell into a panic.
The old doctor tapped Yuu on the shoulder as he clutched his head.
「Ah… I, I’m….」
「It must be because you have only regained consciousness. No need to be in a hurry. For now, take your time and rest. And when you’ve calmed down, I’ll have some talk with you.」
「Y, yes, sir.」
「As such, I bet you have a lot you’d like to talk with him about, but for now, I’d like to ask you to quietly leave him alone.」
「No way….」
Being told so by the old doctor, the woman hesitated for a moment, but eventually nodded.
It seemed that all three of them were leaving the room at once.
「If you need anything, please press the nurse call button on your bedside. I’ll come running right over.」
The nurse floated a gentle smile.
From the perspective of the owner of that body, she was about 10 years older than him, but from Yuu’s awareness, she was much younger than him. Hence, he thought it was like an angel’s smile.
「Ah, my shoelaces….」
She must have been in a hurry and did not notice.
The woman who claimed to be his mother bent down and tied her untied shoelaces.
Even though she was dressed in a suit, she seemed to be wearing sneakers with red lines on a black base.
When Yuu accidentally looked down at the woman, he could see her breasts boldly coming into view and forming a very splendid valley, which made his cheeks promptly turn red, so he hurriedly raised his eyes.
At that moment, he caught sight of a calendar, which he had not noticed earlier because the woman had been standing there.
On the upper half, the scene of a townscape with white walls and orange roofs facing an emerald blue sea was depicted.
It was probably a European port town facing the Mediterranean Sea.
Oh?
Looking at the date on the calendar, Yuu felt a sense of discomfort.
The day of the week for the vernal equinox was wrong.
Besides, he believed the last day of the month was a weekday, not a Saturday, but….
Just recently, his eyesight had ended up dropping to 0.5 from 0.7, which was required in order to renew one’s driver’s license, and he was wondering if he would have to buy glasses at that age.
Originally, he should not have been able to see it from this distance.
But right now, he could see it clearly. Maybe his eyesight was better than 1.0.
At the top of lined up date and day of the week, on the left side of the month of March, this was written:
『Year 1990 (Shoka 13)』
Tftc
he got no older memories ?
