Chapter 73 Part 2

If anything, most boys treated him like a hero and kept some distance from him, which he couldn’t quite stomach.

Then, as soon as Risa called out to all of the team members, they dashed toward Yuu and the others.

Thirteen girls came running at full speed, giving rise to a cloud of dust, so everyone except Yuu ended up becoming a little scared.

However, they stopped and formed a horizontal line about 3 meters in front of Yuu and the other boys who were outside the white line.

Then, Risa, on the left end of the line, gave out a command in a loud voice.

「Everyone, bow!」

The movement of Risa, who was over 180 cm tall and had very short hair, was very energetic, very much like an athlete she was.

He could hear some weird murmurs, but Yuu turned around and urged Masaya and the other boys in the same group to give some words to the girls as well.

「Go, Class 1-5, fight on!」

Although some of them said it in quiet voices, as they received cheers from all the boys, all of the girls lining up were showing a happy smile and striking a gut pose.

After finishing the initial greetings, the girls resumed their practice.

They were using half of the field, divided into three sections.

Two offensive forwards practiced near the goal facing the goalkeeper and the left and right defenders who protected the front of the goal.

The rest were divided into two groups of four and practiced passing the ball around.

Since most of them were amateurs, it seemed that they were going to use the first half to let them get used to the ball.

Currently, one of the forwards, who had successfully evaded the defense blocking her, made a strong shot toward the edge of the goal, but Risa, who served as the goalkeeper, stretched her large body to the limit and blocked it.

「Yosshaaaaaaa!」

「God damn it! I thought it would surely go in!」

The two revealed contrasting emotions.

Even though it was only a practice, Risa, who had managed to show her cool side in front of Rei, struck a gut pose energetically.

「That’s, kind of amazing.」

「Yeah, everyone’s doing their best, aren’t they?」

Since they were amateurs, they often failed to control the ball or ended up kicking the ball in a weird direction as they tried to make a pass but, even so, the girls continued to shout and run around as they did their best in the practice.

Without a doubt, they were putting in more effort than when they were in P.E. class.

The enthusiasm of the girls was definitely felt by the boys who were watching them.

「Athletic girls look a little intimidating, so I am not good with them.」

Including Masaya, who used to say that, the boys seemed to be watching the practice without getting bored.

Getting into the final 15 minutes, the girls split into two teams and started a mock game to complete the practice, and they did, the boys other than Yuu also started to cheer for them spontaneously.

Perhaps hearing those cheering of theirs, they could clearly see that the girls who were running around the field were in high spirits.

Aside from those who habitually exercised in their club activities, they should have felt some exhaustion after running around for 30 minutes after school, but not a single one of them was slowing down.

The roster also listed the clubs they belonged to.

Apparently, all girls that belonged to athletic clubs were assigned to the football and volleyball teams.

When Yuu and the others entered the gymnasium, the girls, who were eight in number including substitutes, were already doing their warming-up exercises.

It seems that here, they practiced using one court each inside the gymnasium.

They also had outdoor volleyball courts, but class 1-5 seemed to have been lucky to be assigned with the one inside the gymnasium.

Perhaps because they had talked intimately during the new student orienteering event, the distance between them and Yuu, who was leading the boys’ group, was close.

「Yesterday, we watched the girls who are going to participate in the football tournament, but they sure put so much spirit into it, didn’t they? What about the volleyball team?」
