Even though he was serving as the Head Mage of the Ducet family, Hostio was in charge of internal affairs and personnel matters, and he was always leaving the military side of things to someone else. He wasn’t very good at military science, but he also was no stranger to the battlefield, at least to a degree that allowed him to properly understand the current state of the war.

「The city gate will never be breached. The attack by the Emperor’s Army is just a diversion to draw our attention here, so instead of focusing on them here, we should be on high alert in other places of potential risk. 」

Hostio insisted.

「Only when you have the upper hand you can let your guard down. As Mages, we must be careful at all times. 」

Algeas retorted in a rasped voice.

「I don’t think there’s any need for general military theory here. 」
