Dimitri was unable to even try to dodge it and was hit directly in the stomach. However, perhaps because of the protection provided to him by his Arts, the magic of the Shooting Star did not penetrate the Vampire King. The moment it hit him, fragments of light scattered around him, and even though it didn’t work exactly as intended, the Vampire Kind did end up falling unsteadily to the floor.

Just then, Ion attacked him from behind. He bit into the Vampire King’s shoulder with his gaping jaw. The wolf’s fangs dig deep into the Vampire’s body, trying to break his bones.

「I don’t think I can win this… 」

Dimitri said, his face grimacing in pain.

「But I can escape and wait for the next opportunity…「

「You think you can escape the wolf’s jaws? 」

Ion responded with a muffled voice.
