Lassic urged Moreno to go Ahead and continue.

「I will also have Lady Natalia meet with the minimum amount of soldiers. If someone like her, who is widely regarded as Lord Lassic’s greatest subordinate Lords does not make any kind of major movements, they will surely find it strange and think that something must be going on here. 」

「I guess so. 」

Lassic nodded in agreement.

「Lady Natalia’s objective is going to be stopping the enemy. The reason why we need her to do so with the minimum number of soldiers available is to show that Lord Lassic could not mobilize enough soldiers properly in time for battle, which should let our opponents off guard. 」

「It is going to be interesting to try to stop the enemy that has been dispatched for the purpose of stopping us, but this is also going to be an incredibly dangerous role. 」

「Yes, but if it is Lady Natalia we are talking about, then I am sure that she is going to be more than happy to accept it. 」

「This is exactly why I said that it is going to be dangerous, because you know as well as I do that Lady Natalia can be too overbearing at times, and if anything happens to her, I will not be able to look Lord Neman in the eyes when I will finally cross onto the other side myself. 」

Natalia Rajo Maudry’s husband, Neman Maudry, was killed in the Battle of Selvis while defending one of the castle gates where the Heavy Knights of Waldrind were attacking. The castle gate was now rebuilt to be sturdy enough to take an assault of Crest-infused crossbow bolts and was named the Neman Gate.

「Do not worry. The only time a woman is weak is when the man she wants to rely on is by her side. 」

Moreno said with a distant look on his face.

「Is this your real life experience from your Magic University days speaking? 」

「I admit it reluctantly, but yes… 」

Moreno nodded dejectedly.

「Okay, let us ask Lady Natalia to do her best then. So, when is it going to be my turn? 」

「Since you are going to be the main character of this show, your turn is going to be at the very end of it. Next is going to be Lord Petr’s turn. I am going to have him bypass the entire battlefield and cut off any of the escape routes that our enemy might try to take. This is also going to be a hard task to do, but I am sure that Lord Petr is going to do it without any trouble. 」

「The Myrmidon」Banner is the Banner that makes the soldiers under its influence obey the orders that they have been given and not speak even a single word against them. It also paralyzes the minds of the soldiers so that they would not succumb to fear, but there was no need for Petr to be coming under its influence, because he already possessed those qualities. He was only 16 years old, so he still looked pretty much like a young boy, but that did not stop him from taking on the most dangerous missions on the battlefield.

「I see that you are not going to treat anyone lightly, regardless of whether they are women or children. 」

Lassic frowned.

「After cutting off the enemy’s retreat, Lord Lassic will appear gallantly with a large army. You can capture the enemy Lord and take a ransom, or you can kill him and take his Crest for yourself, it does not really matter which of these you are going to choose. 」

「So basically you want me to just come in when there is going to be no more fun to be had? Well, I will have you know that I do not like it. Not one bit. 」

Lasik was obviously very unhappy.

「As a leader, this is the role that you must fulfill. That, and you tend to be on the frontlines way too much, Lord Lassic. 」

「That still makes me better than that bastard Milza. 」

「There is no need for you to compare yourself to him, so do not try anything funny.」

For a Lord who holds the title of Earl to enter an enemy castle alone, it would be equivalent to a suicidal act.

「Even so, I thought you said that we would not need any gimmicks or tricks just now? 」

「That is because things have changed. 」

Moreno clattered the jewelry he was wearing.

「It is always good to be flexible. Alright, let us adopt your plan. Make sure to inform all the Lords who are necessary for it about your plans immediately. 」

「Understood. Let’s create a new legend of the Great King. 」

Moreno was thrilled by his own words.

He had no doubts that the plan that he came up with was going to be successful. And if it all goes according to plan and their siege is going to succeed and they would end up annihilating Ozer’s army, then most of Ozer is going to be undefended and ripe for them to take since there will be no one capable of stopping them. And if that momentum of theirs is going to keep up, then maybe they will also be able to take Veltava for themselves?

Lassic finally reached the rank of Earl. And now that he managed to do that, he was sure that his name would become known across the entire continent as everyone would roar his name in admiration, so at this point in time, Moreno was no longer concerning himself with perceiving Theo Cornero as a threat to Lassic, he not only was he not even an earl, but he was not even an independent Lord. He was still Vilar Constance’s subordinate Lord, and nothing seemed to be pointing to that state of things changing anytime soon.
(The way he is now, there is no way that Lord Lassic would ever need to return the Crest that he got from him back to him.)

Or at least he hoped that this was going to be the case.

(All that is left for us to do now is to wait and pray that Lord Vilar is going to endure the storm in the middle of which he has found himself now.)

But truth to be told, he was not worried about that matter all that much either.

I’m not worried about that either.

No matter how many times the castle of the Earl of Artuk was attacked by the Heavy Knights of Waldrind in the past, it remained unbreakable and always managed to persevere all attempts at invasion.

(This time it is going to be the same, and when it is going to be over, Marine Kraische is going to lose her position as the leader of the Factory Alliance.)

Marine Kraische is about to be demoted from her alliance leader position…)

Moreno was convinced about that as well.

(That is why she made this gamble to invade Artuk with only Dartania that recently switched sides, and Ozer and Veltava after she forced their Lords to subordinate themselves to her.)

She dared to take a gamble, and it looks like that gamble will end in failure.

(I cannot help but look forward to seeing just how much Lord Lassic’s Crest is going to grow.)

In the Vampire King’s castle located in the Forest of Eternal Darkness, Siluca was gathering information by contacting Mages from all over the world.

In response to the appearance of Ozer’s army on the border with Selvis, the forces of Veltava also appeared on the western border of Artuk. A detachment of Waldrind’s army has also appeared on the northern border.

They have also received information that hill tribes from the Tria region, who had been on friendly terms with the Fantasia Union up until that point were invading Clovis’ territory one after another.

「Are they going to cross the border? 」

Theo asked.

「The Ozer army seemed to be trying to stop Lord Lassic from going to Artuk to save Lord Vilar, but… 」

Siluca looked back at Theo and answered.

During the patrol a little over two months ago, in the darkness of a different dimension, the two of them communicated their feelings towards one another properly.

However, even though they managed to do that, the relationship between them has not changed all that much. Siluca continued to fulfill her duties of the contracted Mage, and Theo kept on communicating with her in the same way as he did before.

But still, Siluca was happy enough just knowing that Theo loved her, and whenever the two of them had a moment where they knew that they were alone together, they would also secretly act more like typical lovers.
