Volume 5 Chapter 3 Part 2

In response to Siluca’s call, the cat fairy of Tir na Nog emerged from her shadow.

She remembered that back when she was at the Magic University, His Highness would often catch spiders and rats that would pop up in her room from time to time. If he puts his heart to it, His Highness Balgary would be able to easily catch even bigger prey, but he doesn’t hunt because he feels the need to fill his belly, but it’s rather a hobby of his befitting of his status as a noble.

「It is over there! 」

Shiriki pointed to the hole in the ground with her finger.

His Highness Balgary walked calmly and confirmed what was inside of the hole. Then, with a twinkle in his eye, he shook his tail from side to side and then violently jumped down into the hole.

「Funyaaaaa!!! 」

Balgary yelled in delight as he tore apart the spiderlings one after another. Leaving Priscilla rescue to His Highness, Siluca returned her attention back to Theo.

While Theo occupied the giant spider’s attention from the front, Irvin jumped down on its head.

He tries to stick the dagger in it, but the spider’s shell seems to be too hard to pierce, and his every attempt bounced off of it.

Since these two were engaging the spider in close quarters combat, careless use of magic was out of the question.

「Irvin, hold up your dagger! 」

Siluca called out to Irvin, and then she imagined the magic of the Chaos-covered blade and made the Chaos converge around Irvin’s dagger.

「Its cutting edge pierces everything, and the power of darkness dwells in its blade! 」

As the spell was cast, Chaos swirled around Irvin’s blade, turning it black.

「Lady Siluca, thank you very much! 」

Irvin dutifully bowed, and then with all his strength he swung his blade down the spider’s head and chest joints.

The dissolving blade pierces the spider’s carapace, and at the same time, the spider’s entire body was instantly wrapped in black shadows, and then the giant spider’s movements stopped, and the entire weight of it crashed down on Theo.

Unable to endure it any longer, Theo fell to the ground himself.

「Lord Theo! 」

Siluca cast a Still-Movement magic and lifted the spider’s giant body off of Theo. Theo crawled out from under the spider, coughing.

「Are you okay?! 」

「Yeah, somehow. 」

Theo nodded with a bitter smile.

Now that everything has been taken care off, Siluca looked back at Aishela, who was still hanging in the air above them. She was being dragged by a giant spider, which seemed to be hell bent on getting her back to its nest by whatever means necessary.

「Do you need help? 」

Siluca called out to her.

「No thanks, I do not need it… 」

Aishela shook her head while still hanging upside down.

「You sure? Well, you better do something, because at this rate you’ll be dragged into its nest in no time! 」

「Oh, y-you’re right… but… 」

If she slashed the threads that are binding her now and lands back on the ground, the spider might give up its prey and go away. But since she was caught in the threads while in the middle of a spirited jump, Aishela was quite angry at that spider.

As expected, when Aishela came within reach of her pole weapon, she vigorously raised her upper body with her well-trained muscles, and with that momentum, she pushed out her glaive. Unlike its back, the spider’s lower body seemed to be relatively soft, and her blade easily pierced the giant spider’s chest.

「Now go back to your own world! 」

Aishela let out a roar filled with her whole spirit as she withdrew her blade from the spider’s body.

Sprinkling its bodily fluids everywhere, the spider gets stuck in its own web.

Aishela then cut through the web and dropped the spider’s corpse to the ground. Then she cut the threads that were entangling her legs and landed on the ground herself. After a while, the corpses of the two giant spiders that Irvin and Aishela took care of turned into Chaos Cores, waiting to be absorbed.

His Highness Balgary was also done tearing through the spiderlings in the hole, and he proudly presented the fruits of his work to Siluca.

「I appreciate the gesture… 」
During her days at the Magic University, when she was studying at the Green Life Magic Faculty, she often dissected various creatures, so she was used to the sight of their corpses and viscera, so she could endure it just fine. Irvin and Theo then proceeded to take Priscilla out of the hole, and woke her up by shaking her around vigorously.

「I apologize for making so much trouble for all of you. 」

Priscilla said while looking depressed.

「I’m just glad to see that you’re safe. Did any of the spiderlings bite you? 」

Prompted by Siluca’s words, Priscilla panicked and looked for any bite marks around her body, but the only holes she found were the ones made in the luggage she was carrying.

「Looks like The Only God has protected me! 」

Priscilla put on a gleeful expression as she offers her thanksgiving prayers to the heavens.

However, since there’s no such thing as a divine protection of an imaginary god, Siluca was sure that she was just lucky. In the worst-case scenario, she could have been killed instantly. In any case, she was genuinely glad that the priestess was okay now, because she already developed a sense of camaraderie with her at this point.

「This is a Demonic Realm alright, isn’t it? Are Luna and Emma going to be okay? 」

Siluca turned her gaze towards the depths of the forest.

「Oh, don’t worry about them. 」

Irvin said with a smile, and just as he said, that the twin Werewolf girls returned. Siluca approached the two who came back and asked them how did their search go.

「We were looking for a place like the ones that Siluca described… 」
Luna and Emma said together and turned their gazes to one another.

「And we actually found something like a village. There were also people living there. 」

「An actual settlement? 」

Theo raised a surprised voice.

「I knew that there were people who could not stand the tyranny of the Rossini family and fled to the Demonic Realms, but I never thought that an actual settlement would be established in one of them. 」

「People aren’t as weak as you seem to think them to be. After all, they managed to survive just fine even in the time of Extreme Chaos. 」

Aishela said while taking a sip of water.

During the time of extreme chaos, the entire continent had turned into a demonic realm. Even under such circumstances, the human race did not perish. They fought against chaos and survived.

「Would you like to visit it anyway? They might be able to help us overthrow the Rossini family. 」

「The fact that they live here in the Demonic Realm speaks for itself. If we manage to recruit them to our side, they should become reliable allies. 」

「I agree. 」

Theo nodded his head calmly, but his expression was showing that he couldn’t wait to meet the villagers.
Luna and Emma led the party to the village they had found. It was past noon when they finally arrived there.

Irvin entered the village alone, and everyone else waited for his return at the edge of it.

After a while, Irvin did come back.

「It seems that you can enter the village.]

Irvin said blankly.

Siluca guessed from his words and appearance that they were probably not welcome here.

(Of course… we should’ve expected it to be this way.)

The people of this village have escaped the tyranny of the Rossini family and are now living in hiding in this Demonic Realm, after all.

When they entered the village, they were greeted by several men. The forest area that has been turned into a village has been completely cleared, and there were about ten houses made of logs in there.

A field was also created. A river flowed by the side of the village, and a pond could be seen in the distance. There were no spider webs on the trees around the settlement.

「My name is Theo. I’m using the Cornero family’s name. 」

「Cor… nero? 」

When Theo introduced himself, the men looked at each other in confusion.

「I haven’t been born a Lord, and I’m not related to the Cornero family, who were Lords of this island, in any way. I’m just using their name because I have the same cause they did. 」

「Then why did Lord Theo Cornero come to this remote place? 」
