Return of the Fallen Volume 10 Chapter 1
Just as he was about to destroy Fera once and for all, Kazuki was suddenly surrounded by a beam of golden light.
(NO! I HAVE TO KILL FERA NOW!)
Kazuki tried to tear the beam of light apart but before he could even use his strength, his vision went white. His consciousness was starting to go blank and for some reason, he was reminded of when he was teleported to Earth.
(This energy, it feels just like that ti
His mind went dark and the very next moment, both he and Fera were gone.
(Kazuki, wake up!)
A familiar voice drifted in his mind and Kazuki’s eyes snapped open. The moment he came to his senses, he felt his entire body was heavy, extremely heavy. This feeling was different from gravity and was almost like someone’s aura was pressing down on him.
Kazuki tried to ease this burden on his body by using his own aura. Creating a barrier out of it, he folded the layers to the maximum but this barely helped at all. All around him, there was a powerful force, an intense flow of energy in every direction. He couldn’t understand exactly what this new energy was but this energy wasn’t alone. To Kauzki’s shock, he also felt strands of ki, flowing about and his first thought was again Earth.
Kazuki looked around but could see nothing in this pitch-blackness. This was already an oddity. Kazuki’s vision had been enhanced several times over and he could see in and through any type of darkness up to this point. The shock didn’t end there. Stretching out his aura, he tried to sense his surroundings but found that after extending his aura about three feet away from himself, his aura broke apart and fell away as if it were made of wet sand.
He could not sense his surroundings with his aura nor could he see anything at all.
(Where the hell is this place…Could this actually be one of the Hell Realms!?)
Before Kazuki’s thoughts could continue to wander in the wrong direction, a bright light lit up the area. The light then quickly dimmed until it was at a level in which most could handle. Once this light appeared, Kazuki found himself in a wide-open room.
Floating barely three feet away, to his surprise it was Fera’s soul. He could just barely sense her presence. It was as strong as ever but in this place, his senses were thoroughly dulled and suppressed. As soon as he saw her though, Kazuki did not hesitate. He lunged at Fera’s soul and Fera cried out in a panic.
(HELP!)
Kazuki felt sluggish and the distance in which he should have been able to cover in an instant, took him almost half a second. This again was shocking. He who could now move across all of Gordonia in an instant, could not cover the distance of three feet in that same amount of time in this place.
(My body is perfectly fine and my power is optimal yet my body is moving so slowly.)
Kazuki didn’t know why or how and at the moment, he didn’t care. In his sight was Fera’s soul. Once he destroyed it, she would finally be no more.
Just as Kazuki reached Fera’s soul and sent his Aura forward, once again, he felt his body freeze in place and a deep voice resounded in this open room.
“That’s enough, Kazuki. You are prohibited from killing Fera in this place.”
Kazuki could not turn his head to see who this deep voice belonged to but almost as if to answer Kazuki’s question for him, the owner of this voice appeared in front of Kazuki like a phantom.
Standing tall with broad shoulders like a bear, an old man with long grey hair and a long grey beard stood in front of Kazuki and Fera. The man seemed to be in his seventies but Kazuki could not tell for sure with the way his senses were in this place. The man had sharp eyes and was old but handsome. To Kauzki’s surprise, though, the man’s face looked familiar. It looked familiar because it was very similar to Kazuki’s own face. Both the man’s eyes, brow, and mouth looked exactly like Kazuki’s own.
Kazuki, of course, was beyond confused seeing this and was lost for words.
“Daisius, hurry and kill Kazuki! Destroy him for me and
The man Fera referred to as Daisius, the moment Fera ordered him about, with a look, her soul was slammed into the ground.
“Little girl, are we so close? Do you think you can order me? If Master gave me permission, I would have killed both of you the moment you both took your first breath. One a greedy pig who knows not her limits and the other a black mark on our family. Even if I’m not allowed to destroy either of you, you order me about once more and I’ll open a door of pain which you have never felt before. Your soul will be in such a pathetic state afterward that your mind will collapse and there will be no return. Do you understand you shitty brat?”
Fera’s soul trembled before she eeked out a tiny.
“y…yes.”
Kazuki was stunned by this small exchange but the thing he was most taken aback by was the fact that this man called Daisius said that Kazuki was a black mark on the family.
(Did that comment not mean we are, in fact, family in some way?)
After all this time and the many theories about his golden compass, Kazuki wasn’t actually surprised to learn that this person before him was a relative but it was just shocking that it was actually confirmed after all of this time. He expected it but did not truly believe. His thoughts were contradictory but he couldn’t help it.
(If this man is my family, then his intentions for bringing me here…)
Kazuki did not know anything about this man but he seemed to have a foul temperament. Kazuki did his best to be both calm as well as respectful, as he asked.
“Excuse me, sir. Who
Before Kazuki could finish his sentence, Daisius glared at him. Kazuki felt his entire body shudder from just this look, and his body was pressed as if the hand of God itself were holding him down. All of the air in Kazuki’s lungs was squeezed out and he couldn’t breathe.
“This is the second time we have encountered one another. The first time was when I sent you to Earth under master’s orders and the second time is now. For me to have to spend even an ounce of energy on the black mark, how truly disgusting. If I could…
Daisius’s words stopped here and his eyes began to glow with power. Suddenly Kazuki felt a tight squeeze on his neck and he could feel his throat being crushed.
Fera was secretly enjoying this but before Kazuki was really killed the door to this wide room swung open. Immediately after a tall beauty stepped into the room and gave Daisius a smile.
“Uncle, Didn’t father say he wanted you to bring his grandchildren to him right away and yet you’re playing around like this. Should I be worried you failed to heed your master’s order or more concerned that you did it to harm family?”
Daisius glared at this young woman and the woman’s shoulders shook.
“Uncle, can’t you even try and hide your contempt for me, kukuku.”
Daisius released his grip from around Kazuki’s neck before storming out of the room.
“I have other urgent matters to attend to. Babysitting these little shits, you handle them!”
Right after that Daisius vanished without a trace.
The tall woman walked over to Kazuki and gently lifted his chin.
“Hmm, you look so much like your father. It’s no wonder why uncle already hates your guts. Don’t mind it though, uncle Dai is always pissed off about something or someone. From now on just stay out of his way and don’t look him in the eye. Who knows, maybe in a few thousand years he won’t want to kill you at first sight.”
Kazuki was a little more cautious and said nothing just in case this woman was just like Daisius but the woman quickly picked up on that and smiled gently at Kazuki.
“It’s ok Kazuki, there’s no need to be afraid of me, I don’t bite…often. Speak your mind.”
Kazuki didn’t even know where to begin. Before he could mention anything though, Fera tried to sneak away. She got halfway to the door when the woman snapped her fingers. A barrier fused from both darkness and fire surrounded Fera’s soul in an instant and stopped her movements.
“Now where is my devious little niece off to?”
Fera said nothing in response. Kazuki on the other hand finally realized something.
(If a god has been observing me through my compass all this time and I’ve been brought here by one of those gods then doesn’t that mean.)
“Miss, is this the Higher Realm?”
The woman turned her attention back to Kazuki and smirked.
“You look like your father but clearly not as smart as he was. Only now realizing this fact, don’t ask such dumb questions in the presence of father or he’ll be disappointed and you don’t disappoint father.”
The woman then curled her finger and Kazuki felt a force lift him to his feet.
“Now come along. I told you to speak but maybe we ought to keep silent for now.”
Kazuki wanted to say something else but the woman placed a finger over his lips.
“Hush or you’ll annoy auntie. Now come, let’s go meet father.”
