Return of the Fallen Volume 10 Chapter 101
Lin and the others seemed to have endless questions so Danny stopped them midsentence and just pointed at the sky. There up above in space, Danny had one of the Golems cut off a fraction of its finger and sent it down to planet Kai.
Entering the atmosphere, the sky began to burn up but Kazuki quickly quelled the sweltering heat and the piece of finger arrived. Although it was just a fragment of the Titan Golems finger, it still was as big as a mountain. Seeing something so large suddenly fill up their vision, even if they were all at the 7th stage, a small sense of panic washed over them before they remembered how strong they actually were.
Mei giggled because she could tell Kimi had gotten a little scared but her laughter stopped when Kosaru landed on her shoulder and began squeaking with his own laughter as he pointed out little drops of sweat on the side of Mei’s face.
Mei pouted before chasing Kosaru around and the two split off from the others as they traveled across worlds using their extreme speed.
There was very little worry with the two running off by themselves, after all the only people that could cause them harm, for the most part, we’re here. The only other threat would be those that could enter the Realm but Kazuki, Detra, Alutra, and Lin would all notice that right away and deal with it.
The piece of finger stopped a few hundred feet before it landed on the ground. There is hovered silently in the open sky.
“You all saw time and space magic along with lightning and the combined power of lightning and fire. The space magic is similar to Detra’s. This Titan Golem can lock a region of space and slow things down but unlike Detra, it can’t speed things up, nor look into the past. Also of course it can’t reverse time, nothing can.”
Lin sent his aura deep within the metal mountain taking a look inside.
“I saw this slow our recent intruders but not stop them entirely. I guess the ability to stop time isn’t as powerful as you wish.”
Danny nodded.
“These Titan Golems are many things but all-powerful they are not. Maybe if it were a single opponent one of these Titan Golems could completely hold them and lock them in place but with multiple enemies, the requirements and energy climb exponentially. In the end, as you saw, these three Golems could only slow that many opponents. That in itself isn’t terrible though. With the ability to slow them down, it also allows them to slow down certain attacks. If they send out an attack that can potentially destroy the Realm, these Golems will target those attacks first and foremost. With those attacks slowed, it gives the golems enough time to get in the way of such disaster class attacks and absorb a good deal of the damage, therefore reducing the force and protecting the Realm.”
Danny pulled his hand to his side before throwing out a powerful punch. Right away the air ripped apart and a trail of power could be sensed as the punch rushed toward the Golem. Before it even arrived though a strange sound, almost as if something grinding apart echoed out in all directions before the punch finally connected.
*BANG!*
The spot where Danny punched warped inward by several feet before coming to an abrupt halt. Very rapidly the indention and damage repaired itself before all to see.
A few of the people there furrowed their brows and winced hearing the sharp grinding noise.
Shaila though found it interesting and asked.
“That strange noise just now, what was that?”
Danny reached down and grabbed a small handful of dirt before tossing it at his surroundings.
*Shssss*
The moment he did this, there was an audible sound of the small bits of dirt colliding with something but even being this close to Danny, none of them could make out what it was. They all sent out their auras around them but they could sense nothing unusual or out of place.
“What you do not see or sense are actually tiny microscopic pieces of the Golem. Before I ever sent out a punch, the Titan Golem automatically distributed tiny fragments of itself in the atmosphere. Thes tiny pieces can not be seen even with your eyes and cannot be sensed as they are cloaked with magic and even the power that connects them to the rest of the Golem is so minuscule you would think it to be nothing more than the regular magic that always flows around us. However because of the way they were crafted, with a bit of light they can easily be spotted when clumped together.”
Danny gave Kimi a knowing look and she gathered some light in her hand.
“Kimi fire it right beside me on my left if you would.”
Kimi still didn’t see anything but she listened anyway and fired an orb of light directly next to Danny.
*FLASH!*
A bright almost blinding light overtook Danny as well as the surrounding area for a split second before it faded away. As it faded, one could see thousands of tiny reflective bits in the area immediately next to Danny before they, along with the ball of light, completely disappeared.
Shaila, Nunully, and Kimi all gasped in amazement seeing this.
“What you all just witnessed are the tiny fragments I just spoke of. Right now gathered beside me are millions upon millions of these tiny pieces. All of them are a part of the Titan Golem. Right now, there are even more of them around all of us. These tiny pieces, like the Golem, are made from God metal. The very moment I threw out that punch, the tiny unseen fragments got in front of my punch and started absorbing the blow even before my punch reached its fastest speed and highest force. By the time my punch actually reached the Golem, I predict around 7-9% of the true power was reduced.”
Everyone recalled that the Golem used time and space magic to slow the initial attack. Combine that with the tiny fragments floating about, the actual power behind the enemy’s offensive was reduced greatly all before the real attack even landed.
Danny’s eyes glowed with a small flash and a small flat piece of metal separated from the mountain of metal and landed in his hand. The piece of metal in his hand was little more than a foot wide and long. The color was slightly different than regular God metal. Instead of the normal dull-white, this piece was dull white with tiny specks of dull black dotted all over. It reminded them of a reverse image of space.
“This is a new creation, I Kazuki, Sid, and Detra came up with. It is around a hundred times stronger than God metal and can even be enhanced using magic or aura. The moment the intruders tried to attack with physical attacks, just before impact, a piece just like this rose to the surface of the Titan Golem and intercepted their attack. It took some damage but as you saw our Golem is exceptional and can repair itself at an incredible rate. Without Sid Detra and Kazuki, this metal would not be possible.”
Everyone glanced at Kazuki but he wasn’t willing to take that much credit.
“Why say it like that. You came up with the idea and the practical knowledge, we just helped you make it. This metal, the credit goes to you.”
Danny shook his head.
“I based my theory off of your Cosmic crystal. If not for that, I would not have had any thoughts or ideas on how to improve Orichalcum metal to such a degree.”
Kazuki wasn’t going to argue and just shrugged.
“The regeneration of these Golems is also quite extraordinary, from what I saw. It looked like a piece had been fully destroyed at one point during the fight but it completely repaired itself.”
Lin was really impressed and he felt proud that Kazuki was partly responsible for this Golems creation.
Danny tossed the Cosmic metal into the Golem and another regular piece of god metal fell out and into his hands.
Holding it up in front of everyone, he ripped the regular piece of God metal into two. Right away the two pieces, like a magnet, were attracted to one another. They slammed together with a metallic bang before the tear sealed and the piece was repaired.
“It doesn’t stop there.”
Danny tossed the piece over to a curious Tozu.
“With your fire, I want you to completely melt the piece down and destroy it as fast as possible.”
Tozu raised a brow.
“Is that ok?”
Danny gave a nod and Tozu smiled confidently.
“Well don’t mind if I do. I saw these new Golems use lightning that obviously had sword forms in them strike down any magic before it got close. Because of that, I’ve been wondering what would happen if they actually got hit with magic.”
Tozu held up a single finger and a tiny ball of red flame emerged. his energy flowed rather quickly and in an instant, the tiny fireball the size of a rock erupted into a boulder-sized bluish-white fire. A few people had to retreat a little due to the blazing heat but Tozu controlled its power so as not to harm anyone.
With a flick of his finger, the fiery inferno came rushing down directly atop the piece of god metal and completely engulfed it in a flash.
The very next second Tozu snuffed out his flames and to everyone’s shock, the piece of God metal was gone.
