Return of the Fallen Volume 10 Chapter 141
Kimi reunited with her grandfather and her parents. Her parents initially didn’t want to believe such a strange tale but her grandfather had no doubt. He could not sense the full extent of his grandaughter’s power but just from peeking at the surface, he understood Kimi was now an existence that he could not touch. As both a grandfather as well as a grandmaster of martial arts. He was proud of her. At the same time, he had never known of a being this powerful. Her strength after being missing for only a few years, her story, in the end, was the only thing that made sense.
“Sweety, It’s not that I don’t believe you but, to hear my daughter is suddenly an expert…Can you show us something?”
Kimi’s dad was asking something reasonable but Kimi’s mom was angered by this and she pinched her husband’s arm.
“Don’t upset our baby girl. Hasn’t she suffered enough? Our poor Kimi was in another world being mistreated. Now, she’s finally home and you’re questioning her story. How could I marry such an insensitive husband.”
Kimi’s father was stunned and tried to explain himself but he was promptly ignored.
Kimi though would not leave her father out to dry.
“Shall we step outside? If father wants to see, mama, I have no reason to hide anything.”
Kimi walked outside and into a large courtyard. Following behind her was her grandfather as well as her mom and dad. Every step Kimi took, her grandfather observed with absolute focus. What he witnessed was strange and shocking.
(Her balance is perfect. Each step of hers contains enough strength to crack a mountain no doubt. She is controlling her strength while she walks. Even though she has her back to me right now I can’t identify a single flaw or opening. It’s as if she has trained in a world of masters for thousands of years and bested every one of them. On top of all of that, I can feel powerful energy inside. This power though is only one source of her strength as even her body outclasses anything I know of.)
Standing in the center of the courtyard, a large stone plate lay flat beneath their feet. It was the main walkway back there and weighed several tons.
“Honey, what are you going to show us?”
Her father was very curious. He was not a practitioner like his wife or his father-in-law. He could not feel the subtle changes in their surroundings but both Kimi’s mother and grandfather suddenly felt a strange energy start to move.
Kimi turned around to face her family. Her eyes began tog low with golden light. With a mere thought, a platform made of golden light spread out beneath the stone walkway and in a single moment, the golden platform lifted into the air. This platform of light picked up not only her and her family but the entire stone plate they stood on.
Before any of them could say anything the golden platform rose at an incredible speed and the world blurred around them. Within seconds they were floating silently in space.
All three of them had eyes as wide as saucers as they looked down at the giant blue world below them.
Her father was about to panic but Kimi’s mom grabbed his hand and sent him some of her energy to calm him.
“Kimi is this an illusion, no, my senses are telling me this is reality. What I don’t understand is how we can still breathe if we are in space. Can you explain what is going on?”
Kimi walked to the edge of the stone plate and pushed her hand slightly outward.
*Shhshsh*
A tiny noise similar to the wings of an insect buzzing made its way around. Her fingertips touched a barrier made of light. It was invisible before but now that she was touching it, its existence and appearance were made known. It reflected a bit of light and showed that the barrier covered all of them as well as about a hundred feet above them. They were in a large protective dome made of light.
“This whole area is under my protection, under my magic. I placed a barrier of light around all of us and captured a large amount of air along with us so we can breathe. Right now, this barrier is strong enough to fend off any man-made weapon. Tanks, missiles, nukes. None of those things can p0enetrate my barrier.”
Kimi held her palm open and a small orb of light materialized. The light went from a soft glow to a bright almost blinding light before fading back down to a tolerable dull to their eyes.
“Over there I learned to control light magic and can use it in many forms.”
The orb wrapped around her body and then she vanished surprising the three even further.
“Invisibility is fairly easy after you know the trick and there are a million other ways to use light.”
Kimi reappeared behind her grandfather which shocked both him and her mom. They both knew how powerful and skilled he was and yet Kimi had appeared directly behind him without either of them sensing her presence. Not only did they not sense her presence but she had even thrown her voice when she was invisible to make it seem as if it was coming from her original spot.
“Not only did I use my light to turn invisible and contain enough air so that you all could breathe but do you notice anything about your bodies.”
“Hmm, there are traces of this power around my body but beyond that, I can’t tell why or what it is there for.”
Her grandfather could sense a small bit of Kimi’s powers around him but besides that he was clueless. Her mom and dad were even more in the dark.
“Grandfather, your senses are very sharp. That light on you is also on mama and papa. Although they can’t feel anything, this magic was actually used a moment ago to protect your bodies just now. When I brought you all to space, we moved about a hundred thousand miles an hour. Without some form of protection, you all would not have been able to handle the G force.”
Kimi’s grandfather grew excited.
“My granddaughter is incredible. Not only can you move at such an astonishing speed but you can also move others at this speed and all without bringing them any harm.”
Kimi felt proud.
“This is only a small amount of what I can do. If I try I can move even faster. Nowhere near as fast as Kazuki can but he’s different. Still, if I wanted to I could travel to other planets and more.”
The platform suddenly descended and in a matter of seconds, they had landed safely back down in the courtyard.
“Father, what do you think about that, is that proof enough for you?”
Kimi’s father was stunned and could only nod repeatedly. Kimi couldn’t help but laugh at her father’s silly expression while her mother began to tease him.
It was at this time that the head guard called out.
“Master Chul, a call from the BLue house. The president needs to speak to you right away.”
Kimi’s grandfather had a thought and realized what the call must be about.
“Kimi, when you first showed up, you said there were others with you.”
“Yes, my boyfriend, all of my friends, and a few others, why?”
“Hmm, it looks like you all drew the attention of some important people. If they are already contacting me, it means they know you all are dangerous and are treating this situation with a serious disposition. I’m going to see what the president has to say but if you have a way to contact your friends I suggest you get them to not make trouble, otherwise they may be in danger.”
*Pfffft*
Kimi loved her grandfather and respected him greatly but hearing him say that any of them would be in danger, was laughable.
“Grandpa, I don’t mean to laugh but you underestimate me and my friends. Didn’t you hear what I said earlier? Even a nuke can’t penetrate my power.”
Kimi’s grandfather shook his head.
“It’s true I have never felt an existence as powerful as you in my entire life but you can never underestimate the USA and their technology, nor can you look down on China’s ancient history. They have studied and practiced martial arts and inner energy for more than 4,000 years. They have hidden cards that even I cannot fathom. Please as your grandfather listen to me and ask your friends not to make trouble. Will you do that for me?”
Kimi sighed inwardly. Not only her but all of her friends had already sensed every living being on Earth. There was no one stronger than her and her friends. Not only her group but Danny insisted on bringing plenty of Titan Golems. there was nothing anyone could do to them. Still, for her grandpa, who she loved and respected she relayed his message to everyone else through her mind.
In an instant she communicated with everyone else but just like her, they all laughed, some more than others but none took it too seriously. At the same time, none of them came to make trouble and wouldn’t start anything but that did not mean they would not defend themselves if necessary.
As Kimi’s grandfather went to take a call from the Korean president. Kimi’s mom and dad heard mention of a boyfriend and jumped on her about it. The questions flew nonstop but instead of getting irritated, Kimi was more then happy to brag about Sam.
