Return of the Fallen Volume 10 Chapter 145
Walking down the street, Shaila, Tozu, and Sasai had their heads on a swivel as they looked at everything with genuine curiosity. Noise was everywhere as metal vehicles went to and fro. Large metal birds flying high in the sky filled with people. Even on the street, there were so many people walking all around looking down at small objects with focused interest.
“Big brother, sister, what are they all doing?”
Sasai had asked this but Tozu was just as unsure as he. Shaila though had recalled a conversation with Kazuki before and confidently answered.
“Kazuki said that in this world people are obsessed with those phone thingys. People in this world use them for many different purposes. Some use them to communicate and others might use them for entertainment. Some check the weather and others search for things in them.”
Sasai was still confused.
“Can they not simply look up to check the weather, Why look at that tiny thing and all of these metal wagons going around like crazy, isn’t that plenty of entertainment?”
Tozu nodded along.
“Yes and the way these people communicate is weird as well. How does talking into that tiyn square reach the intended person? What kind of magic is it?”
Sasai walked over to a young man sitting on a bench and grabbed the man’s phone out of his hand.
“Hey! That’s my phone. Are you really trying to steal from someone in broad daylight?”
Sasai ignored the man and looked at the phone as if he were trying to decipher something. Shaila quickly snatched the phone out of his hands and gave it back to the man before apologizing.
“Sorry, my little brother is really really stupid.”
The man was shocked at this beautiful woman standing before him, apologizing. At first, he thought Sasai and Tozu were thugs but looking at them now he could tell they were foreigners. All three were incredibly tall. They had all reduced their size earlier because Kazuki mentioned how much they would stand out but even after that, they were taller than everyone around them. Not only that but their looks were unusual for Japan.
Sasai was taller than those around him and very handsome with long green hair. He looked more European than anything while Shaila was a tall brown beauty. Tozu was not very handsome but he was large and broad-shouldered. He looked like a large wrestler with his bald shiny head standing out.
The young man felt awkward having a woman apologizing to him, especially such a beautiful one, and quickly became shy. Not only that Shaila was starting to attract more attention as everyone was curious as to why she was saying sorry. The young man began to blush and he started apologizing back which then confused Shaila. In the end, the young man quickly gathered his things and ran off.
“Hmm, what a strange fellow.”
Sasai was a little annoyed at Shaila.
“Why did you say I’m stupid, you even added really multiple times.”
Shaila rolled her eyes.
“Because you are stupid. Did you already forget what Kazuki said? He wants us to not cause any trouble. The first interaction you have with someone of this world and you take their things.”
“I was only taking a look at it. I wasn’t planning to keep the phone thing.”
“You see and that’s why I said you were stupid. You didn’t ask the man and just took his item right out of his hand. If you did that back in our world, that would have been equal to theft or the other party might even think you were trying to challenge them to a fight. You can’t do whatever you want here, we are Kazuki’s guests remember?”
Sasai sighed inwardly.
“Fine fine fine I get it, I was wrong. Can you drop it now?”
*Screeeech*
Just as the two were conversating, a driver lost control of his truck and swerved toward two small children that were playing near a sidewalk.
*BANG*
Tozu stepped in front of it and stopped it with a single hand. The front end of the truck was completely crushed inward but both the driver and the two now frightened children were left unharmed. Tozu looked intimidating but he quickly put on a smile as he knelt down in front of the kids.
“Are you two hurt anywhere?”
The kids began to cry and all traffic both people and vehicles all came to a stop as they looked at this unbelievable scene. Immediately phones came out and started recording and a woman shrieked as she rushed over and scooped up her kids.
“My babies. Mama’s sorry, you’re ok, you’re ok right!?”
The woman looked her children up and down, patting them all over and checking on them. Once she found out they were unharmed she then looked at Tozu and hugged him.
“Thank you so much. I looked away for a second and they were gone. Thank god, thank you. I…I.”
The woman could barely contain her emotions until they finally rushed out like a broken dam and she started crying while thanking both Tozu and god. The kids as well didn’t quite understand what was going on but saw their mom cry and so they cried harder. At the same time, the other people who had witnessed this scene had no clue how to describe how anyone was uninjured. They were shocked and were questioning reality.
Before anyone could even begin to ask what the hell just happened, Shaila grabbed both Sasai and Tozu and they ran away.
“Sister, why are we running?”
“I don’t know. Maybe we shouldn’t draw too much attention to ourselves for now.”
Just as they were running away Kazuki spoke directly into their minds and they changed direction.
—————————————————————————-
Coming out of the company, Kazuki and the others walked to a nearby restaurant. Just as they reached the entrance, everyone else started to show up.
Sam and his father arrived and very quickly Shaila, Tozu and Sasai were there. From the sky Mei, Danny, Tsura, and Kosaru came, and a moment later. Following them, a car came with an old balding man driving. It was Asuna’s father. Along of course with Asuna, her mother, little sister, Lamia, and Nunully.
A gust of wind came rushing from behind and Shin and Triska had come. Finally, a light descended from the sky. Wrapped in the light was Kimi, her grandfather, grandmaster Chul, as well as her mother and father.
As soon as Kimi landed, she jumped into Sam’s arms and snuggled in his chest. Sam’s father nodded seeing her but both Kimi’s mom and dad were taken aback. Kimi had mentioned Sam but she hadn’t explained much because they were in a rush. Seeing their daughter who was usually spoiled fawning over a man, they felt surprised.
This surprise only lasted an instant as Kimi’s mother and grandfather took note of everyone around. Grandmaster Chul felt as if all of his senses were being drowned out by overwhelming might. He felt as if he were a flea being swallowed in a torrent of pure power. He was almost lost in the sauce when Maya spoke.
“Old Chul, what brings you here?”
Grandmaster Chul looked at the young woman who shouted at him. She looked slightly familiar but he couldn’t place her.
“Sorry young miss but do I know you?”
Maya smirked.
“Can’t see through this youthful vigor, ho about this you old dog!”
Maya gently lifted a palm before sending out a ferocious blast of ki. A force containing over 10,000 pounds came flying at Master Chul like a wall made of concrete.
Grandmaster Chul’s eyes suddenly widened as he sent out his own palm of ki.
The two walls of power slammed into one another and a loud bang exploded outward as the two forces seemed equal. Half a second later though, Maya’s force began to overtake his and broke through it. Chul was once more surprised and this time punched outward with ki to block. Finally, the powers were on equal footing and dissipated together.
Chul recognized the way this Maya attacked.
“Maya, no it can’t be, you died years ago ut this look, could it really be you?”
Maya chuckled.
“What do you think, If I’m not Maya then what am I a damn ghost? Don’t tell me after I died, you’ve gone senile, of course, it’s me, hehe.”
Grandmaster Chul was at a loss for words. He couldn’t believe it but there were so many unbelievable things that happened before his eyes and the day had barely become noon.
Master Chul and Master Maya began to have a chat while Asuna began introducing her family.
She introduced her mother first to Kazuki. Asuna’s mother looked Kazuki up and down with a glare before her expression softened and she hugged him.
“I heard what you did for my daughter. I can’t repay you for this and you even brought her back but I’ll warn you right now. If you hurt my daughter, if you make my baby cry, I don’t care what weird powers you have, I will find a way to break you.”
Asuna rolled her eyes.
“Mama, stop saying a bunch of weird stuff you’re going to give him the wrong idea. Kazuki, don’t listen to mama, she doesn’t know you yet. Oh yeah, this is my father and this is my little sister Sun.”
Asuna’s father walked over but he didn’t know what to say. He had prepared some menacing words and wanted to intimidate Kazuki but his wife and just done that and if he did it he knew he wouldn’t be able to pull it off the way she did and he felt a little defeated. Instead, he decided to just act tough and not even shake Kazuki’s hand but before he could deny that, Kazuki simply lifted his hand up to shake and Asuna’s father just reflexively shook it.
(Damn it why did I just shake his hand. I was going to be the strong protective father and now I’m already caught up n his pace. I need to change the flow and get him under me before it’s too late.)
Asuna’s dad opened his mouth and was about to say something when Sun pushed him out of the way and started inspecting Kazuki up close.
Asuna’s dad was pushed to the back of the group and lost his chance. Kazuki who could read his soul couldn’t help but chuckle inwardly.
(So Asuna’s soft side comes from her father and her strong side comes from her mother. Even her sister is more like her mother as well. Poor man.)
Sun came at Kazuki with a million different questions. Some innocent some not so much. Asuna quickly pulled her away before they all went inside the restaurant.
