Return of the Fallen Volume 10 Chapter 45
“Wait what did you just say?”
Kazuki’s ears suddenly perked up.
“Hmm, what is it Kazuki?”
“Alutra you just said you knew someone who read millions of books and that was how they reached Divine Enlightenment.”
Alutra nodded.
“Yes, I know it sounds weird but it’s true. After reading an ungodly amount of books this individual reached Divine Enlightenment. Like I said it’s different for others. Some reach it through meditation, others battle, and so on and so forth. It all just depends.”
The gears in Kazuki’s mind began to turn.
(I started getting that feeling of grasping something beyond me ever since I reached this level of strength. It was incredibly faint before, almost like an illusion but the moment Detra shared her knowledge with me, it was like that illusiveness solidified for an instant. That same feeling appeared once more when Alutra showed me her golden flame. Just observing it, I began to understand more about both light and fire in that small time frame. Could it be that my path to Divine Enlightenment is knowledge and experiences or maybe knowledge and observation?)
Kazuki shared these thoughts with Alutra and Detra and Alutra couldn’t refute it.
“If what you said is true, those could really be your path to Divine Enlightenment.”
The way Alutra said this, it was as if she didn’t really care as she spoke unenthusiastically.
“What’s wrong? Why doe sit seem like all the air has been sucked out of this world?”
“Look, I know you wish to become a God and I know you have the potential for it but at the same time, it is not such an easy task. Just because you are beginning to grasp something beyond you does not simply mean you can become a God. I didn’t mention this before but this is something you must be aware of. Even if you reach Divine Enlightenment, and even if you master an element, it means little if you aren’t a Demigod.”
Kazuki furrowed his brows.
“At the rate, I’m going won’t I reach that stage eventually?”
Alutra shook her head.
“Kazuki, do you even know how to become a Demigod, do either of you know?”
Alutra looked back and forth between her nephew and Detra. Kazuki thought about Fera. She had become a Demigod through mainly Sephra’s efforts by allowing Fera to absorb millions of souls.
“You must increase the strength of the soul and then…
Kazuki didn’t know from there.
“Alutra is it when one’s soul increases to a certain level and then they begin to absorb Divine Energy from the Realm?”
Alutra was quiet but eventually, she shrugged her shoulders.
“You got me. Even I do not know how to become a Demigod.”
Detra and Kazuki shared a look.
“WHAT!?”
“I know it may sound incredibly stupid but I honestly don’t know how one becomes a Demigod.”
Again Kazuki and Detra looked at one another before staring at Alutra in shock. Her words weren’t making any sense to either of them. Kazuki closed his eyes for a second before blinking them a few times as if this would clear up the misunderstanding.
“Aunt, how can you not know how to become a Demigod. I mean you were a God in the Higher Realm and you became a Demigod when you were forced down to this Realm. Surely you understand your own body, right. I mean how did you become a Demigod in the first place? You have to know how.”
Alutra became slightly embarrassed as she scratched her cheek.
“I have a confession. Actually, the day I was born from mother, I was already a Demigod. You see the stronger you are, the stronger your children tend to start out at from birth, at least that’s how it works in the Higher Realm. For example, many creatures that are at the 5th stage or so, when they have offspring, there is a high probability that the child that comes after will have strong genes from both parents as well as be nurtured by a powerful mother whilst inside the womb. That child birthed would most likely be at the 3rd or even the 4th stage. On rare occasions, that child may even already be at the 5th stage from birth. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule. Take my brother Lin for example. While all of my siblings were born as Demigods, he was the only one who came into the world at the 7th stage yet he eventually became a full-fledged God himself. I on the other hand was born much much stronger and never experienced entry to the Demigod stage. So I really don’t know how one gets to that place.”
Detra didn’t really know what to say to all of that and Kazuki was slightly dumbfounded.
(If my aunt doesn’t know how to become a Demigod then how would I. There’s no way it’s something one just stumbles across. Wait! Uncle Lin started from the 7th stage and eventually became a God, then surely he knows!)
“Uncle Lin became a God so he has to know right?”
“Well duh. Little brother knows without a doubt but he’s trapped in the Higher Realm, Orberus, father is keeping him locked away in that hellish prison of his.”
“Not for long. Orberus already agreed to release uncle after a week. As long as Orberus keeps his word, Uncle Lin should be here in less than a week from today.”
Alutra’s eyes widened in shock.
“Brothers coming here! Kazuki just what kind of deal…
Alutra stopped there. She didn’t really wish to know any more about the dealings between her nephew and her father. Right now she was just glad that her brother would be free.
(Please let father keep his word. Please let brother be free.)
“With brother’s help, I think he’ll be able to guide you properly. Little brothers always been smart. Naive but very very smart. I’m sure he’ll know what to do to get you to the next stage. After that though, I’ll be the one teaching you how to become a true God.”
Alutra smiled confidently while sticking out her large chest.
Kazuki was starting to become excited before he activated his gate and the three teleported back into Glacious’s tiny world.
The moment he arrived, everyone was already gathered around his arc gate. None of them knew what was happening. One minute they were hanging out chatting happily and the very next a strange magic device appeared nearby. They all came over to see what it was when it lit up and Kazuki, Alutra, and Detra stepped out from the light.
Mei ran over and jumped into Kazuki’s arms.
“Big bro what is it what is this light magic thing!?”
“This is a teleportation gate.”
Mi’s excitement quickly diminished. Teleportation wasn’t anything incredible in her eyes as she experienced it many times before. Kazuki’s next words though quickly brought the spark back to her eyes.
“This gate connects from this world to the one I just created.”
Kazuki said this so casually but everyone else stared at him in shock. It was Triska who curiously asked.
“Kazuki, you can do that?”
Kazuki gave a nod.
“I just learned how from Detra. Anyone care to see my world?”
Excitement grew as everyone rushed forward. Asuna and Nunully didn’t like the fact that Alutra was with Kazuki this whole time so they both instinctively hooked their arms around both of his as they all walked into the lit-up gate.
The moment everyone stepped through Kazuki’s gate, they were hit with bright light as the artificial sun held high in the sky. A gentle breeze swept around them and the fresh scent of flowers lingered on the air. As they looked around, they were surprised to see flowers and trees for as far as they could see. The most surprising thing though was the images that Kazuki created in the endless field of flowers. Glacious in Dragon form, Etora in his wolf form, and Old Tilly drinking her ale or some other alcoholic beverage.
Everyone grew quiet when they saw these images. Lamia couldn’t help but swallow hard when she saw both of her brothers in the flowers. These flowers didn’t just resemble them but looked identical. Not only that, as the cool breeze flowed across the surface of the land, these flowers swayed to and fro, causing the image of Glacious to look as if he were soaring in the sky and Etora’s image looked as if he were enjoying a grand feast.
Lamia fell to her knees seeing this, her hand covering her mouth as she began to cry. Mei as well couldn’t hold back her tears.
“Mister Dragon, Mister wolf. They seem so happy. I…I
Mei couldn’t finish her sentence as her tears rolled uncontrollably. Tsura swiftly came over and comforted her, while Nunully comforted her own mother.
Lamia was choked up as she spoke.
“Kazuki, this…this is so beautiful. My brothers, they no longer have to fight, they can finally have peace. Thank you.”
