Return of the Fallen Volume 10 Chapter 53
Kazuki could see where things were headed and told everyone then and there that no one would be allowed past the 5th stage. He would help them reach the 5th stage if that’s what they wanted but beyond that, they would have to climb further by themselves. Not only that but this was the only thing you would receive. Kazuki wasn’t trying to give them everything in the world. This made many people stop and think a little more deeply on the subject.
In the end, passing up the 5th stage wasn’t an option for them. These people were determined to see magic through to the end. Whether it was magic research, crafting, magic theory, and so on. As long as they were at the 5th stage they could easily live for thousands of years. For them to achieve their dreams, many things would be required. These things were not something the average person could simply do and required access to an abundance of wealth, rare resources, and enough time to process and explore magic the way they wished to.
What would be the point of acquiring a mass amount of wealth and rare resources right now if you could die tomorrow or even ten years from now? Ten years was not a very long time in the grand scheme of things. Especially when it came to research. If they could live for thousands of years though, wealth could be obtained through the years. Rare materials could be procured and so on and so forth. In the end, time was worth far more than any immediate gain of riches.
In the end, everyone there through away the option for gold and asked to be brought to the 5th stage. Even King Brian couldn’t help but ask.
“Kazuki, if all of these people reach a level that I can not contain them, won’t the entire continent be thrown into chaos and disorder. Someone must rule this place, right? I know I have no right to ask but this concern is beyond just me. I’m also thinking about all of my people and
“Enough. During the war, you have devoted yourself in trying to save humanity. You who have also no magic power managed to walk a path that most others would run away from and cower. You could have taken your riches and hidden someplace far away and hoped for the best but instead, you stayed and fought. Even when the last survivors were being teleported away from the mountain base, you decided to allow others to leave before you and you were even willing to die. If Garn and king Tobern had been gone before the war started and things were left in your hands since the beginning, things might have gone very differently. The number of soldiers and Mages that survived may have been much greater than what remains. You did what you could and never once turned your back on the people.”
Kazuki didn’t care about king Brian’s reasoning for wanting strength. It was understandable. At the same time, had king Brian started with strength then he may have been able to guide humanity to a much better outcome during the war. For doing what he did in the end, Kazuki found it to be incredibly admirable.
(Those people were not his family or friends. Yet he did everything in his power to save and protect the people. I would not have done the same. I will protect those I care about, everyone else…)
Kazuki waved his hand and his aura and power entered king Brian and he brought him to the 5th stage with only a small amount of pain.
“The world would probably be a better place if there were more people like you in it. It would be quite disappointing if you died of old age in 50 years or so, so live a long life and help guide your people. Show them what it means to lead and care for one’s fellow man. Maybe if people can learn that, just maybe they can avoid tragedies some of us have had to endure in this life.”
Kazuki turned to the crowd and his power stretched out covering them all. Bringing them all to the 5th stage, a place they thought they could never reach in their lifetime, they were all shocked. In a single instant, this powerful being before them allowed them to reach that infinite dream and establish them as powerhouses on the great Feya continent.
After the brief exposure to agony, the changes brought them, a sense of euphoria took over as they could feel their bodies overflowing in vitality, strength, and magical power. Kazuki didn’t show them how to obtain the power of aura and only brought them to the Core stage. After this, whether they took things a step further was left upon their own shoulders.
Immediately people began to fall to their knees and began to pray out loud or praise Kazuki.
“God, he’s a God among men!”
“Lord Kazuki thank you!”
“Kazuki the ruler and most powerful being above all!”
Kazuki was already annoyed by the fact that they were calling him lord this and lord that. Now they were even going so far as to call him a God. This kind of praise and admiration was one he hated the most. His aura swiftly swept over the entire crowd and he filled the room with a frightening level of pressure before he bellowed.
“DO NOT CALL ME GOD!”
For an instant people felt the air being crushed out from their lungs and their blood flowing in reverse. Their vision blurred and their minds went blank and dark before Kazuki pulled his aura away.
Everyone gasped heavily as they all felt as if they had just escaped the edge of death by a hair. With his point made and everything else confirmed, Kazuki once more waved a hand and in only a few seconds he expanded the palace many times over. He created labs and craft stations large enough to accommodate everyone. He didn’t stop there though. He could see potential problems before they even occurred. It was really a guess but it made sense to him.
(These people will need to be fed and right now the continent is lacking in many things for the people. If there is an interruption to their work, it could have negative consequences for me.)
Kazuki’s power spread over the entire city and even outside of it. With a thought, his powers overturned hundreds of miles of empty land outside of the city and he turned it into farmland. Gathering the appropriate seeds from around the wild and even from within the city markets, Kazuki copied Zephris’s work and used these seeds and made a crop that was easily farmed and grew rapidly. This knowledge he got from Zephris allowed him to make several different foods that were both nutritious and required little water and nutrients from the soil.
The nearest river was just over a hundred miles away and the city relied heavily on wells dug long ago. Kazuki wondered why this city was even built so far from a natural water source before shaking his head.
(It doesn’t matter. If the river is too far away, I’ll simply bring it here.)
The land around the river changed and the entire river was redirected almost all the way to Treia. He extended it and brought it within a few miles of the city itself before terraforming everything to fit the environment around it. The river still remained on its original route but now a part of it extended all the way to the capital city. He made it so it went around villages and towns and built roads and bridges in areas where it was convenient.
He reshaped a good portion of the land so that no floods could happen and replanted forest in certain areas to help prevent drought. With a wave of his hand, the power of gordonia filled the land and the planted seeds, the new creations he borrowed from Zephris’s memories sprang up and grew in seconds, and with a second thought, these plants were harvested. After harvesting everything he then stored it all before replanting more of these new seeds.
He regrew the crops, harvested them, and replanted them again and again. This took only a second to do and with his repetition, he soon had enough food to feed a kingdom for several weeks. All of this was stored inside of a storage ring Kazuki had made himself. With a toss, he gave it to king Brian before transferring the knowledge of how to take care of these crops and how to grow them by sharing the knowledge through his soul.
With the food taken care of for right now, Kazuki took into account that most of these people had families or lived all over the Feya continent.
“Hmm, if I make a few gates, these people will be able to work in the kingdom during the day and return to their families at night. Doing it this way, they won’t have to worry about their families and they’ll concentrate better on their work. Yep, let’s make a few gates around the continent.”
