Return of the Fallen Volume 10 Chapter 90
(After tracking the golden compass through an ungodly amount of Lower Realms she found its location. The moment she arrived, what did she see but a beautiful woman wearing it along with a tiny infant in her embrace. Something within Sephra snapped.)
Sephra reached forward and the beautiful woman and the tiny child were dragged directly into her hands.
Looking at the golden compass hanging around the woman’s neck, Sephra screamed.
“GENZUKO!”
The air around her split and trembled under her scream. The woman and the baby both began to bleed from their ears. A fraction of a second later, Genzuko arrived. A look of absolute fury on his face.
“Sephra, what do you think you’re doing! Release my wife and child right now or
“OR WHAT!”
Before Genzuko could finish his sentence, Sephra cut him off and held the two in the air. Kazuki who was only an infant began to cry at the top of his lungs while his mother wore a confused and frightened look.
Genzuko was about to make a move but before he could Sephra gave the two hostages a squeeze.
Kauzkis’s mother screamed in pain and Kazuki wailed louder. Genzuko froze on the spot and dared not take another step forward. He did his best to suppress his anger and tried to talk calmly, less Sephra does something crazy.
“Sephra…why? Did father put you up to this? You don’t have to do this, you don’t have to be their tool anymore. You can be free like I am. Please, let my family go.”
Sephra was silent for a moment before she lowered the beautiful woman and tossed Kazuki into her hands. With a thought, Sephra’s magic flowed into them and healed Kazuki and his mother on the spot. Genzuko sighed in relief and was about to come over to get his family but then two metal blades appeared from her ring and hovered above Kazuki and his mother.
“What are you doing?”
Sephra glared hatefully at Genzuko.
“When did I ever say I was letting them go? I healed this man-stealing whore so she could hear exactly why she and her imp of a son are going to die. Go ahead, tell her! Tell her how you abandoned me!”
Kazuki’s mother began to cry as she held Kazuki tightly to her chest.
“Genzuko what is all this? Who is this woman, why is she doing this to us?”
Genzuko swallowed hard.
Before he could say anything Sephra pointed the blade at the compass and picked it up off her neck before she broke the chain and the compass fell onto the snow-covered ground at their feet.
“You mean to tell me you didn’t tell this bitch what this is? After everything, we’ve been through, after all of our memories together and you just throw everything away! You threw me away!”
“Sephra what are you saying? We were friends who grew up together. It was our parents who forced an engagement between us. That’s what this was. I never threw you away. How could I throw someone so important away? You know how I’ve felt since we were kids and my thoughts and feelings have never changed even now. You are a sister to me. I love you but I cannot give you the kind of love you wish. You already knew this long ago. Please, leave them out of this.”
Tears began to stream down Sephra’s face.
“Lies, all of it lies. How can you treat me like a stranger after all of this time? I gave you my heart, I gave you my soul. I am not your sister, this was never a political marriage for me but the real thing. Why…Why can you not look at me as a woman? Why can you not give me your heart back? How can you love another woman who isn’t me, how can you start a family and be so happy if it isn’t me who gives it to you? I hate it, I hate all of it. All of this…All of this is this whores fault. If she were never here if she never stole you away from me, this child would have been my child and you would have been mine as well.”
The blades floating in the air suddenly pressed against both mother and child causing Genzuko to shout.
“DON’T! Listen to me Sephra, just stop and listen.”
Sephra paused a small look of hope in her eye.
“Will it make you happy if we are together?”
Sephra nodded.
“Ok, fine. Just let them go and I will come with you anywhere you wish. We can be together as you say and we can have our own family. There’s no need to harm a woman and child who knew none of this. My wife has never even heard of my past so don’t blame an innocent person. Put the blade down and let them go. I’ll come with you. I’ll talk to my father and your father as well ok so just lower the blade.”
As he said this, Genzuko secretly gathered power.
Sephra looked down at Kazuki’s mother and the tiny Kazuki wrapped in her arms and she began to laugh like a mad man.
*Heh Hehe HeHEHEHAHAHAHA*
Tears flowed endlessly from her and her whole body shook uncontrollably.
“You want them alive, you want me to give up on killing them but there’s no guarantee you will just come with me now is there?”
Genzuko kneeled down.
“I’m begging you, whatever you want I’ll do. Just let them go.”
…
“Destroy your Soul weapon and let me seal your magic. ONly If I can take hold of you completely and I know you can’t escape from me, only then will I let these two go.”
Genzuko was shocked. Destroying one’s Divine Soul weapon would irreversibly damage is own soul. If it was someone else destroying it with their own soul weapon it could even kill him but if he did it he would be severely injured. Genzuko was shocked for only a single second though before he hesitated no more.
With a thought, a long thick blade appeared next to him. Genzuko looked at his blade before calling out to it.
“My blade, you are now broken.”
With these simple words, the blade vibrated irregularly before a crack formed in the center of the blade. In only a second the crack spread all over before the entire blade shattered into tiny pieces. The very next instant, Genzuko collapsed to his knees before violently coughing up several mouthfuls of blood. The snow beneath and in front of him was now dyed in crimson and Genzuko was pouring with cold sweat.
He could feel that many parts of his soul had been shattered along with his soul weapon and his power weakened greatly.
After coughing several more times, Genzuko with a now pale ghost-like complexion spoke.
“Now please, let them go.”
The tears streaming down Sephra’s face instantly stopped. Her blade still hovered and pressed against the mother’s neck.
“Sephra…Sephra, release them. Let them go right now!”
Sephra’s voice turned cold.
“Your wife. It’s already too late. I came here to see if I could bring you back but how can someone abandon their child. I know, as I to have a daughter. I could never leave her and start anew and neither could you, not unless they are gone forever. Not unless they are dead!”
Sephra raised the blade and plunged it toward the woman’s neck. At the same time, the magic Genzuko had gathered earlier suddenly activated and both mother and son teleported away. Genzuko as well still hadn’t had his magic sealed and attempted to teleport away but he suddenly felt an irresistible heavy pressure push him down to the ground and hold him in place.
Sephra still had the aura of a Demigod in this Lower Realm while Genzuko had just been severely injured and weakened. His aura could not resist Sephra’s in any way.
Still, Genzuko was relieved that his wife and son had escaped but this only lasted for a split second. The very next instant Sephra’s hand glowed with purple energy and the power of space surrounded her palm. She gripped at the empty air and her hand disappeared into the void before she pulled something out of a rift and in front of her. It was of course Kazuki and his mother.
Genzuko stared at her, stunned.
“HOW. I SENT THEM TO ANOTHER REALM. HOW COULD YOU FIND THEM!”
The blade floating next to Sephra rushed forward directly in front of Genzuko and stopped in mid-air just before it pierced into his eye. A single drop of blood fell from the tip of the blade and hit the snow.
“All I needed to track her was this tiny bit of blood. Did you really think I didn’t know what you were planning? Did you really think I didn’t feel that energy gathering around?”
Sephra raised her blade once more.
“In order for us to be together, in order for us to have the life we were destined to, these two will be dying right here and now!”
Sephra’s two blades raced toward both Kazuki and his mother. Genzuko wanted to use his power but he was now being suppressed by Sephra’s aura and could do nothing but watch as her two blades pierced directly into mother and son.
Blood splashed on the ground as the two blades went in one way and out the other side of their bodies before returning to Sephra’s side. Kazuki’s crying, with a single piercing of the blade, was silenced. Mother and son fell over face-down in the frozen snow; they were dead.
