Return of the Fallen Volume 10 Chapter 97
Weeks passed. During this time, Kazuki and everyone else coordinated and trained with one another. They were trying to figure out how best to fight with one another to defend their Realm. Having Lin who was a Demigod made things miles easier. With both him and Alutra, there was basically nothing that could threaten this place. The only real danger would be if someone else had a Soul weapon with them or if another Demigod came through this though was extremely unlikely.
There would be no reason for a Demigod to enter this Realm with the purpose of taking Fera’s corpse so the threat was only beings who were at the 7th stage. This didn’t stop Kazuki and everyone else from preparing properly.
When they weren’t training with one another and exploring the limits of their powers, Danny, Sid, and Detra were working on his new Golems. At other times, Kazuki and Danny were developing a brand new metal. After Danny took a look at the cosmic crystal Kazuki made, he theorized the same method or a similar method Kazuki used to enhance a regular crystal could be implemented in metal.
Changing the densely packed atoms within a piece of metal, Danny found a way to stack and rearrange their properties making them even harder and more durable than even god metal. This new metal was almost a thousand times sturdier than god metal and could even withstand the strength of 7th stage beings for a while before it would begin to break down.
Making the metal though required an extensive amount of energy and a certain environment. Kazuki made a world of fire and lava. In order to change the properties within the god metal, an easy method was not available. In this world of lava and metal, it required both Kazuki and Danny to forge it. Danny would hold the metal and Kazuki would hammer it with his own bare fists. Kazuki would infuse some of his own energy into the metal while Danny helped guide the power.
Both had to concentrate and focus with their utmost as they were making tens of thousands of microscopic changes in real-time. If even a single change was incorrect, the metal would shatter. Everything had to be precise and the two had to work perfectly in sync. At the same time the metal had to be heated to extremely hot temperatures, hence the world itself was a boiling rage of magma. This allowed the god metal to be heated to a hot enough temperature. In this way, Kazuki and Danny could concentrate solely on forging the metal without having to keep track and personally heat the firey world.
There were thousands of trials and errors and experimentation but finally, the two found a method. It took weeks for them to get a single piece of this new metal.
In the end, it was only about three feet long and shaped in a blunt manner. It looked more like a solid rod than a sword or another type of weapon. Since Danny was the one who thought up this new metal he was the one who decided on a name.
[Cosmic Metal]
Since the method, he came up with was similar to Kazuki’s own when it came to making the Cosmic crystal, Danny thought this name was fitting. Kazuki wondered why he didn’t come up with something else pertaining to god. Seeing how the base ingredient they started with was nicknamed god metal but Danny said it seemed pretentious.
He stated that god metal already made no sense seeing how someone who was at the 5th stage could damage it and someone at the 6th stage could completely destroy it. The name god metal was undeserving. Danny didn’t want to take that route and just went the easier way and called it Cosmic metal. In this way, to him, it was like the Cosmic crystal and the Cosmic metal were like brothers in a way.
Since the method for making a single piece of Cosmic metal was even longer than making Cosmic crystal, Danny quickly searched for a method to make the process easier. This method of course was creating a magic tool that could do it for him. That though in itself was something that would take time.
Kazuki, Danny, and Detra were informed that Sid had some news, and the three summoned him to planet Kai.
Once there, Sid’s ring flashed and a large magic machine filled their vision. The large machine was around the size of a three-story building. Sid quickly explained.
“Going off your blueprints as a basis, I developed this new Magitech device.”
Kazuki, Danny, and Detra all looked on with curiosity. Even though he came up with the idea for this device, it looked much more different than what he thought up.
“This can make my Cosmic crystals?”
Looking the device up and down, its appearance was…odd. It consisted of two large round plates made of god metal. It was shaped almost like a grinder for wheat or other material. Sending out his aura to inspect it, he found a hollow inside, and floating in this hollowed-out space were thousands of magic lenses. Embedded within the metal discs were several acadian crystals.
Millions of complex inscriptions ran throughout the device.
“This is a magic infuzer. Using the high-powered lenses inside, it can change the shape and form of a regular crystal and turn it into a Cosmic crystal. Each of these lenses acts like tiny hands that can move and shape the inside of the crystal with incredible accuracy. Of course, the acadian crystals are there to convert the energy into whichever specific element the machine needs at the precise moment it needs it. Gravity, light, space, whichever the machine needs it can draw upon the acadian crystals similar to a Sozo glove and use that element. That’s not all but I made it very efficient. In order to power it, you would need almost an entire planet’s worth of resources but if you use a Cosmic crystal, I’ve adapted the infuzer to allow the surrounding magic to be pulled in from all around. In this way, the infuzer would use mostly the power from the Cosmic crystal but the rest it would draw from outside sources. This would make the Cosmic crystal last at least 30% longer, at least that’s how the theory goes.”
“You haven’t tested it yet.”
Sid threw his hand sup and shrugged to Detra’s call.
“I have tested it, that is on smaller things. This infuzer can not only make Cosmic crystals but any crystal you want. To make an actual Cosmic crystal, though, that still requires an amount of energy I have no access to. If things go right I believe it would take around 10% of the total amount of energy in a Cosmic crystal to make a Cosmic crystal. So one crystal would allow me to make 10 basically. Not a bad return in my opinion, hehe.”
Kazuki grew excited hearing this. His ring opened up and he tossed Sid a Cosmic crystal, it was the only one currently in existence.
“Shall we test it then?”
Holding the crystal once more, Sid was enamored with it right away. He knew though not to waste everyone’s time and so he placed it into a small slot on the side of the infuzer and pressed his hand on a small flat panel on the side of the device. A tiny light flowed across the surface of his palm before the machine activated.
*GRajul grkk*
Right away the sound of gears and other components sounded out followed by bright light as inscription after inscription lit up. The large bottom disc began to rotate clockwise while the top started rotating counterclockwise. Very soon a crystal began to form in the center of the machine and different elements were activated and sent flying through the many magic lenses. Once through the lenses, the magic penetrated the crystal from seemingly every angle.
Very soon there was a shift and the two large rotating metal plates changed direction and then changed direction again and again. This repeated several times and in doing so the magic lenses inside began to spin around inside the machine. They seemed to move chaotically as they moved at high speed but not a single one collided with another. At the same time, the magic passing through these lenses continuously cut off and restarted. It was as if thousands of lasers were firing through the lenses on and off repeatedly.
While this took place the lenses themselves moved around the crystal in every direction. From the outside, one could not see even a hint of light but on the inside, it was like a spectacular and radiant light show was taking place.
Kazuki, Danny, and Detra all had their aura covering this device from every angle as they sensed what was happening from start to finish. After nearly an hour, the first true activation of the infuzer was complete. The two large metallic plates stopped spinning and separated. In the center of the device a small crystal no bigger than a hair floated silently within. With a thought, the crystal flew into Kazuki’s hand and he gave it a look over.
It was indeed a Cosmic crystal.
(This device takes much longer to make a Cosmic crystal than I do but I have other things I have to do and can’t keep making these without it interfering with everything else. With this Infuzer, it can make these crystals continuously without supervision. This is incredible.)
Kazuki flicked the crystal over to Danny and Danny quickly caught it. Rubbing his chin, he turned to Sid.
“How long for you to make more of these devices?”
