Return of the Fallen Volume 10 Chapter 98
The production of Cosmic crystals had now officially begun. The method to make the magic infuzer was in the hands of only three. Kazui, Sid, and Danny. The process was obviously well guarded and the secret method was completely contained. With these crystals, a new age was brought to Gordonia. Soon enough with a few thousand of these crystals, one could completely imitate the output of a star when it came to energy.
With that, the output of Cosmic metal rose as well. Soon enough weeks turned into months. Lin and Alutra were both Demigods and with their power, the protection of the Realm was basically secured. Every now and again, someone or something would tear open the fabric of their Realm in search of Fera’s corpse but every time both Alutra and Lin would already be there lying in wait.
In the meantime, Kazuki did not sit still. If he wasn’t helping to forge more Cosmic metal with Danny or working on the new Golems, he would be out in the depths of space. Kazuki moved like a beam of light as he swept over planet after planet and small stars. Each planet he came across was marked on the map Detra gave him. These planets held no life. Activating the spinning void within, Kazuki devoured these worlds and many small stars.
With it, his body grew tougher and his vitality strengthened. He didn’t stop there though. Now that he knew of a method to strengthen his soul and therefore enhance both his magic and ki, Kazuki didn’t hesitate to send his own magi power and ki and feed it to his soul. As his soul ate his power, it grew and grew, and because his soul grew the capacity of both his magic and ki expanded more and more.
He began to sense the natural laws of the universe ever so clearer. It was like a haze was slowly being lifted as he understood his surroundings and the Realm itself on a fundamental level. With it, his senses around the Realm itself continued to increase.
Kazuki floated in space with his eyes closed. Even without sight, it was like he could still see everything around him clear as day. His aura outstretched, he sent it out in every direction.
He recalled when he first developed his aura. He nearly died from being crushed by Zetrazz’s aura breath. At that time on the edge between life and death, he manifested the power of his soul. Back then it could barely even cover his body. Now though, his aura could stretch and cover an entire solar system. Several planets orbiting a single star including the star itself he could feel it all. From the smallest organism to the biggest giant, every breath and every heartbeat. All of it was in his grasp.
More months passed and Kazuki found a problem.
After devouring another planet, he squeezed his fist several times testing his strength.
(My strength, its no longer increasing.)
Kazuki found this to be strange. It had been a few months since Lin had been released from Orberus and the two had once more become a family. In this time frame, Kazuki had devoured hundreds of thousands of worlds and nearly a hundred small stars but he noticed that recently his strength had stopped growing. Usually, when he devoured a source of power, the spinning void within him would spit some of the energy out almost like it was getting rid of the excess. This energy would naturally flow into Kazuki’s body and strengthen it to an unnatural degree.
All of that though had stopped as of late. With a single inhale, a star could disappear directly into his soul world and get swallowed up by the spinning void. He could still do this however, the spinning void no longer spit out any energy and only consumed instead. This wasn’t the only strange thing Kazuki was experiencing as of late.
Kazuki sent some of his k and magic into his soul tree and just like the spinning void, his soul tree only ate up and absorbed the energy. His soul no longer grew. All of his growth, in every aspect, had not slowed but completely full-on stopped.
(Damn, how frustrating. Why is this happening, what am I missing exactly. My body not strengthening is one thing but for my soul to no longer grow. If my soul stops growing won’t this interfere with me becoming a Demigod and even a God?)
Kazuki had sought out advice from his uncle Lin about how one becomes a Demigod. To his dismay, Lin was not well versed in such knowledge. Being born from a God his base was already very high, to begin with. Not only that but he had help all the way from Orberus to get him into Godhood. All he knew for certain was that one needed a powerful soul along with a powerful source of pure energy. One has to create their own Divine energy within there self.
Orberus had helped all of his children in this aspect. He did this not out of love but because he did not want outsiders thinking his flesh and blood were weak.
(Father said, Orberus helped him create his own Divine energy so his advice is lacking. Alutra and Lin are both from a Higher Realm but neither knows how to help me exactly. From what they’ve told me though, the soul is one of the major components. If I can figure out how to further increase the strength of my soul, I can also increase my magical power. Maybe then I can find the answer but for now…I’m stuck.)
*Squeek Sqeeee*
Kosaru suddenly appeared on Kazuki’s shoulder.
(Brother, food food!)
Kosaru had only been around for a few months but his speech was improving rapidly, at least when it came to communicating through the mind. When it came to actually speaking out loud, everything only came out as tiny squeaks.
While his speech improved, his small body remained relatively the same. One thing that changed though was his fur became darker. It was already dark from being black and red but now it had further darkened, almost as if the little tike had bathed in darkness. He also started referring to Kazuki as brother instead of cousin like Alutra wanted.
Kazuki didn’t mind much. Even if he shared no blood with the little monkey hamster, he was cute. Plus having someone around who was so playful and excited every time they saw you wasn’t a bad thing. Kazuki and the rest saw him as part of the group even if his background was a mystery.
Kazuki gently pat Kosaru on his head.
(I guess it’s time to eat. How about another race little one?)
Kosaru began jumping up and down with excitement. Kosaru loved racing with others. His favorite thing to do besides eating and snuggling in ALutra’s cleavage was to play and his favorite type of game to play was racing. Kazuki had built and customized a specialized obstacle course on planet Kai as well as on a few other planets he personally created. These courses were filled with interesting things to fly past and through and it was something Kosaru looked forward to every day.
After Kazuki would finish devouring worlds and stars, Kosaru would meet him just before it was time to eat and the two would race on the way back.
Kazuki set Kosaru down next to him and the two floated side by side in space.
(You remember the rules little one. No teleporting and no breaking any of the worlds or obstacles, if you do that then points get taken away. Got it?)
*Squee squee sqeee*
Kosaru nodded excitedly as if to say I know I know already.
(Alright, I know you can’t stand to wait so on the count of three we’ll go. Ready? 1…2
Before Kazuki said three he moved forward like a flash of light and disappeared into the distance. Kosaru angrily squeaked before vanishing as well.
Two beams of light raced across the stars with a force that could rip the Realm apart. Kazuki already taught Kosaru how to move through this Realm without damaging it so the Realm remained intact but if ever there were a day where this was unnecessary, Kosaru without using any strength at all and only relying on his pure speed, could rip the realm in two.
Kosaru was gaining on Kazuki and the duo came upon a giant cosmic cloud. Racing through it the two left trails behind them. Continuing ahead, they dove down to a world Kazuki had made and raced around it one time. When racing on planets there were other rules they needed to stick to otherwise they could destroy the world. One had to personally slow down and restrict their power while flying across the world. This made things interesting because as long as you control your power right, you could catch up to someone and even pass them.
The two flew away from this nameless world and headed toward a large magnetic asteroid belt for another part of the race but before they entered it, the two suddenly sensed an intruder.
Kazuki opened a rift in front of him and flew inside with Kosaru following right behind him.
Another enemy had come.
