Return of the Fallen Volume 11 Chapter 100
Kazuki got up with a grumble. He took a look at the building before him. A large white dome-shaped building with no signs of any kind. People came and went from here with several others that had slave marks on their heads. A place where one could buy and sell slaves.
To Kazuki slavery was more of an annoyance than a morality issue. To him, controlling every aspect of someone’s life was not something he enjoyed or thought well of but at the same time, he was in a position where slaves were needed. He couldn’t grandstand, not in this place. At the same time, he also couldn’t afford to, nor change the way society was, at least not right now.
(In this place, slavery is a natural thing but it still is distasteful.)
(What nonsense are you speaking? Since the dawn of intelligence, other creatures have been enslaved by those that know how to take advantage. It does not simply happen in humans but in every species that reach a certain degree of knowledge and force. At some point, you just realize it’s easier to force another to do your bidding. Distaste for something that will always occur, once again you make no sense to me.)
(So you feel nothing when you see this type of thing?)
(And what should I feel? Me who has been used since I could even form thoughts. Have you already forgotten where I come from? Should I feel pity since I’ve experienced similar, well I don’t. I had to overcome my own obstacles and even now I am still struggling.)
(How strange that that is what you come to. You had a power that before I encountered you I had never heard of. These people have nothing and more than that they have slave marks. Are you suggesting they should fight back when they physically can’t because of the Marks?)
Arc said nothing in response to this. Kazuki just shook his head and went in with the others. The moment he stepped in, he took a look behind him and was surprised that there were no eyes on his back like last time.
(I thought someone would be watching me again but I felt nothing this time. Did that mysterious God grow bored and decide to leave?)
There were several people in chains lined up along the walls. Some people had clear looks of defeat while a few had anger. Some wore blank expressions and others looked as if they were no longer all there mentally. At the same time, there were many auctions taking place simultaneously all around. Many people were being bought like mere pieces of meat but that was just how things went.
The four had only just arrived when a woman with a pair of translucent wings flew over and stopped in front of them. She had small pointed ears and short hair. With a smile, she spoke to Viz.
“Good Sir, may I be of assistance? What are you in the market for today? Men, women, children. We just got a new shipment of wolfmen come in today. Would that be of any interest?”
Viz shook his head before pointing with his chin at Samuel and Kazuki.
“It’s not me looking to buy but these two.”
The woman gave a curious look to Kazuki and Samuel before her expression changed and she smiled once again.
“Sorry, about that. I just assumed that Sir God here was the customer. For you esteemed gentlemen, may I ask what you are in the market for today? As I said we have just received some new wolfmen but there are also many fine young women of many varieties. Human, Chimera, Elf, Succubus, Teritail, and even Forfyres. Speak it and we have it. So where lies your interest?”
Samuel looked at Kazuki. After all, Kazuki only agreed if he got the final say on who joined so as far as Samuel thought, it would be better to cut through the shit and just let Kazuki pick the slaves.
Kazuki’s eyes scanned the room. There were many strong people. Plenty of Demigods but mostly 7th stage begins and below. Kazuki’s soul-reading ability spread out without notice and he immediately identified a few potentials. It was then that he could feel several souls below, one in particular piqued his interest.
“I would like to see the ones below this floor if you don’t mind.”
As soon as he said this a few eyes fell on him and the woman helping him stuttered.
“Wh..Why them? Sir, I don’t know if you are aware but the one’s below, many of them are criminals and are to be sent to one of the Hell Realms. We have many others slaves you may be interested in so how about I show you those and we can go from there?”
Kazuki shook his head.
“My interest lie below. Show them to me.”
The woman went quiet and another woman flew over. This new woman was taller nearly the height of Viz and a beauty. She made eye contact with Viz.
“Viz, it’s been a while. Last time you told me you’d never return to my place of business and now you show up with…these people and cause a disturbance. What is this supposed to be?”
Viz rolled his eyes.
“I know what I said. I did not come for me but these three have business and I am just helping my partners.”
The woman raised a brow and she took a step closer. her large bust pressing into his chest.
“Since when does the lone wolf have…partners. Last I checked you could never commit and now you have partners. How cold of you.”
“Tessa, your mind is spinning tales once again. These people are partners partners, not people I fuck. They wish to purchase some merchandise and nothing more. Can you show them what they want or do we need to go somewhere else?”
Tessa cackled when she heard this.
“Go somewhere else, where will you go? I own the slave market in Gauldriss city, you know this. Since when did you Viz get such humor? I also heard rumors that you took over the Cortail boy’s shop. Even if this kid is a child how do you think his father Terinus will react? Stop playing games and come have a proper chat with me in my…Office. We can go over old times and I can show you a few new moves.”
Tessa said the last part with a lustful voice. To Kazuki, he was now wondering what was going on. This was the second female God who seemed obsessed with Viz. Samuel on the other hand only felt contempt for the woman after hearing his father mentioned. To him, he took it as if she were joking about his father.
Viz grabbed Tessa by the shoulders and moved her away from him. The moment he touched her a few Gods in the surrounding area released their aura toward him. Tessa got angry and released her own aura and shouted.
“DID I ASK FOR ANY TO INTERFERE!”
Her Aura eclipsed theirs and these three Gods went flying into nearby walls or were pressed hard into the floor. They couldn’t even say anything to her when she glared at them.
“Now get out of my sight before I destroy you.”
The three Gods didn’t hesitate and they vanished. Not only from the building but from the entire city as well. After they were gone the entire building became quiet. That is until Tessa snapped her fingers. As soon as she did this, the auctioneers went right back into business mode and started announcing prices here and there. The crowds snapped out of it and went back to bidding lest they miss a great deal.
Kazuki had other thoughts. He at first thought Tessa was more of a laid-back type of person but the way she ripped into those three Gods and turned her fangs on them in an instant, this woman was not to be trifled with.
“Your faction is still full of Fanatics and those who are obsessed with you and you…you’re still as thorny as always I see.”
Tessa smiled before closing the gap between her and Viz once more. She gently stroked his cheek in a playful manner.
“You have no idea how thorny I am. Come upstairs and let me show you.”
Viz grabbed her hand and his expression became serious.
“You still only hear what you wish. I told you these are my partners. They are interested in your merch. Are you going to show them what they want or are we just going to do this pointless dance once more?”
Tessa looked behind her and saw Kazuki and the others and rolled her eyes before she looked back at Viz.
“I’ll make you a deal. Come have a chat with me and I’ll gladly sell your…partners whatever they want. I’ll even discount them heavily. All of this for a simple chat. What do you say Viz? Care to have a friendly chat like in the old days or should I kick you and your partners out right here?”
Viz glanced at Kazuki and the others. Samuel didn’t understand what was going on but Marty was smiling with a perverted grin. Kazuki was just waiting to see if the situation would develop favorably or not and to his surprise, Viz gave a reluctant nod.
“Fine, let’s go have a long proper chat, just the two of us.”
Tessa’s eyes shined, literally shined. She looked at the girl from before and demanded.
“Show them whatever they want and sell them whatever they want, half off. Now hurry up and go, I have…my own business to attend to.”
Tessa then grabbed Viz by the hand and lead him away somewhere upstairs. A few snickers and laughs spread among those in the know while the girl just rolled her eyes and guided Kazuki and the others down below.
