Return of the Fallen Volume 11 Chapter 112

Kazuki curled his finger and forced Samuel off his knees.

“Enough with the bowing. I get it and your sincerity is plenty. I will get you to the 7th stage.”

Samuel was stunned.

“What’s with that look? Did you really think I would refuse? Like I said before, you’re strength rising is a benefit to me personally. The stronger you are, the higher the chance we make it out of this thing alive.”

Samuel didn’t know what to say but Chaka and Bersik were already at his side. They at first did not want their Young Master to involve himself in terms of fighting and battles but after he gave his speech they both had a change of heart. He wasn’t just doing it for himself but was trying to improve his strength so that everyone could live without worry. The two servants were still slightly conflicted but now they leaned more favorably toward their Master getting stronger.

“Young Master…Congratulations. With Sir Jentson’s help, you will be incredibly strong for sure.”

Samuel smiled.

“I’ll do my best.”

Kazuki though was not so easy. Yes, he would help the boy get stronger in the short term but if he was just stronger, he would still not be of much use. Just as he tested Mei and Kosaru, in a single instant, Kazuki released his aura upon Samuel.

Chaka, Bersik, and Simmons were all pushed back and Samuels was forced to the ground. He went from standing to his hands and knees ad then his face slapped the ground with a low and audible thud. A small puddle of blood quickly formed around his head and Chaka lost it immediately.

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING!”

She tried to rush forward but she was already under Kazuki’s power. She stood zero chance and could not move a single limb.

“Samuel…did you think it would be that easy. You are asking for power that can change the world around you. A power that could destroy countless Lower Realms. Do you really understand the responsibility you will have to bear?”

Samuel could barely breathe. It felt like every muscle in his body was starting to tear. Kazuki had unleased his aura upon Samuel but at the same time he held back greatly. At this time, he was only using a fraction of a fraction of his power. If he did any more than this, Samuel’s entire body would be reduced to meat paste. Still, this much power and pressure were enough to cause excruciating pain.

Tears welled up in Samuel’s eyes but he held them back and did not shed a single one as he spoke through gritted teeth.

“Sir Jentson…I don’t know anything about such responsibilities but through your teaching and through the world around me…I will learn. Please…TEACH ME!”

Kazuki smiled before releasing his power.

“Good answer.”

Samuel inhaled deeply before coughing several times before he regained his breath. Kazuki healed his body and stuck out a hand and helped Samuel up.

“Sir Jentson…Was this a test? I thought I was really going to die for a moment.”

Kazuki shrugged.

“Take it as you like. I do not wish to have someone who will just give up the moment things become difficult to fight by my side. I was ready to have you stay in a safe place while all of this plays out but if your determination is already at this level, you may just be able to come out of this storm alive. Of course, that will be with a shit ton of help.”

(Even if the kid is at the 7th stage. Kazuki do you really think he’ll be of any use when the real powerhouses step out?)

(Of course, he’ll be nothing in their eyes but he won’t have to be Arc. If he’s at the 7th stage and things really get too tough, I will have him run away. His Vajra ship is incredibly fast. So long as he has a head start and the enemy does not have a faster ship, he should be able to escape. I’d send him and the kids on the ship while I stay behind to fight.)

(What? Did you not just say to him you don’t wish for him to run away but now you’re telling me you’d send the kids away if things became dangerous.)

(Correct. I want him to be determined to risk it all but I don’t want any of them to actually die. If the danger really does get that high, it would make them a burden for me instead of a benefit. They would get in the way. It would only make sense to send them away so I could fight without anchors.)

(Interesting Kazuki. Saying one thing on the surface while keeping the truth in your head. That’s never led to misunderstandings.)

Arc’s words dripped with sarcasm but Kazuki didn’t care. He had to protect Mei and Kosaru at all costs and since he agreed to protect Samuel, he would do what he had to, to ensure they live even a day longer.

Samuel felt a sense of pride and that pride grew a little more when Kosaru and Mei both gave him a thumbs-up.

“Good job little brother Samuel. I can’t wait to see what you can do when you get stronger like me and little Kosaru.”

Kosaru smiled and stuffed the last piece of food in his mouth before belching loudly.

“Eh…There’s no more.”

Samul looked at the empty table. There were plenty of dishes piled up here and there but the food was no more. Seeing this he chuckled.

“You guys weren’t kidding when you said you could eat. So how was it? Being from the Lower Realms, it must have been the best thing you’ve ever eaten right?”

Mei and Kosaru shared a look before the pair shook their heads.

“Little brother, this was good but compared to big brother K…Jentson’s food it’s not on the same level.”

Mei’s words left Samuel dumbfounded.

“Huh. This isn’t the highest quality of food but the food is still well beyond that of what a Lower Realm could provide. Are you sure you’re just not understanding the cuisine and taste of the Higher Realm?”

Mei furrowed her brows.

“Mei would never misunderstand what’s tasty and what’s not. This was ok but Big brother’s food is the best in the whole universe. The Pizza, the ice cream, and the doughnuts. You have no idea what Big brother is really capable of. If you’re amazed by his fighting wait until you have his food. Only then can you comment on my tastes.”

Mei said all of this with such confidence and so matter-of-factly that it left not only Samuel stunned but also Chaka, Bersik, and Simmons as well.

“Little girl, showing such disrespect when you ate from my Master’s table. You have no idea what you’re talk

Before he could finish his words Mei glared at him and he felt a cold chill run down his spine. There was a mix of fear and humiliation echoing inside his mind and he could not utter a single word against her.

“Old Sims, don’t call me little. Mei is a big big bird. Got it?”

Simmons could only relent under her pressuring glare.

“Y…yes.”

“Simmons, I appreciate you trying to defend me but in front of my allies, I will ask you to not as it only annoys and inconveniences me. I have already said I will become stronger so I no longer need you to defend me. If things change, I’ll say otherwise, got it?”

Once more Simmons uttered a small yes and kept his mouth shut at that point.

“Good. Now that that is done with, I am very curious. This is one of the three Higher Realms. The food here absorbs some of the purest energy in the universe as it grows. Each plant, animal, and so forth has a touch of purity beyond what a Lower Realm has. Our ingredients are simply better. So no offense but unless you can prove it…Well, let’s just say you sound like you’re speaking nonsense.”

Mei smirked.

“Big brother…Can you please show them your skills already? I want to eat your food and also I want to defeat them so they know the truth.”

Kazuki chuckled.

“More like you wish to gloat as well as eat right?”

Mei and Kosaru both laughed when Kazuki said this.

“Heheha, Big sis’s been caught. Me too big brother, I want to eat lots and lots and also do the gloating. So please make some pizzas. It feels like it’s been forever since I had any pizza. Please please please.”

Kazuki smiled.

“Well, I did say I would make you guys some food after you tried some of Samuel’s.”

Kosaru and Mei began to celebrate and Samuel just shook his head.

“Seriously Sir Jentson, you too. You think food from a Lower Realm is better than what we have in a Higher Realm?”

“No, I don’t think it’s better, It is better. Shall you give it a try?”
