Return of the Fallen Volume 11 Chapter 128

Kazuki agreed and with it, Arc send some of his power to the half-blooded stranger. A single memory of Arc’s followed after. This memory contained a truth of the universe itself, a Law hidden away in the strings of reality. Kazuki himself was curious about what this law of the universe contained but he knew if he looked into it without Arc’s permission it could severely damage their cooperation and trust.

With the stranger rapidly absorbing divine energy from Viz, his own instincts allowing him to master the element of water, Kazuki’s ability to heal and transform the man’s soul, and now this universal truth from Arc. All of it combined and the power within this storage room exploded. Viz protected Kazuki from this pure wave of energy as a pillar of light shot outward in every direction.

Viz had only thought to protect Kazuki and their surroundings. Because of this, the energy was deflected upward and broke through many floors and ceilings in the castle before ascending upward and into the sky. A beam of light was created and a strong power spread over the city. This light became a beacon to all. A signal that told everyone who could see it that a God had been born.

The wind rushed from every direction and there was blowback throughout the city. Many people created their own barriers and became pissed at whoever just unleashed this power so inconsiderately. The entire city shook momentarily and many people almost died from the shockwave but thankfully the city walls activated. The power within the city walls countered the outflowing power from the half-blooded stranger and forced it back from whence it came.

All of the exploding, seemingly chaotic energy rushed back into the half-blooded stranger and a mystical aura surrounded him. This aura took on a slightly golden hue before reverting back to a colorless invisible power.

The man fell to his knees before roaring at the sky. This time Viz was a step ahead and prevented the stranger’s power from spreading throughout the city. Though the earlier mess had already caught the eyes of many.

Just as this new God stood up, the sky had darkened and there were dozens of Gods standing in the air.

Kazuki and Viz could sense a terrifying power building up within the city walls. This was the offensive power of the walls that several God’s operated. This power was aimed directly at their location.

Many people in the sky were those who owned large portions of the city with their own factions. Kazuki did not recognize most of them but there were a few he did.

Sasha, Lestirius, and Olresth were the three owners of the Arena. Sasha had arrived with shadows by her side while Lestirius the bigger one arrived in a shroud of blazing flames. Olresth looked as if he had become a beam of light as he arrived. Sasha had her whip while Lestirius had his great mace and Olresth carried a long sharp saber. Each of them arrived with weapons drawn.

Arriving at almost the exact same time was the Tall beauty, and owner of the slave market Tessa. She as well had a sword at the ready. Though when she saw Viz down below her frown turned into a pleasant smile, though she did not put her weapon away.

When Tessa arrived, both she and Sasha glared at one another. Obviously, there was some sort of animosity built between them.

Besides these four knowns, there were more than a dozen unfamiliar Gods that arrived. Each with their own power and might. Down below on the ground, the streets became quite a chaotic scene as tens of thousands of people surrounded Viz’s castle with troops. Many flags were raised, representing the factions of the Gods in the sky.

Viz was visibly annoyed. With a single step, he appeared in the sky in front of all of these Gods. He rose a few feet higher, refusing to be below them in any manner. With a smirk on his face, he spoke with a condescending tone.

“All of you showed up for this one. What a pleasure. Sorry though, as I did not invite any of you, you are unwelcome guests flying above my property. Is this not a challenge to me personally?”

Lestirius was already in no mood.

“Cut the shit Viz. You are not above the rules we’ve set. If this happened in my arena it would be different but this is the middle of Gauldriss we’re talking about. What in the 7 Realms of Hell do you think you’re doing unleashing that power here? Is it not you who is challenging us!”

Viz’s smirk didn’t leave his face for even a second.

“You’re wrong, it is not I who invite challenge for you would know it. Actually, maybe you wouldn’t because, by the time I was ready to attack you, you would already be dead.”

Lestirius’s eyes bulged as blazing flames encircled him with arcs of lightning dancing on the surface of his skin.

“Oh really. You think you can take on all of us?”

Viz shook his head no which gave Lestirius a false boost of confidence.

“All of you at once and still live, no.”

Viz then glanced left and right before continuing.

“However, I guarantee that I could kill half you fucks before you could completely finish me off. Should we test it?”

A clear provocation. Lestirius grew nervous but there were over a dozen other God’s with him so he did not back down.

“You have puffed out your chest and proclaimed to be number one all this time. Maybe we should put it to the test and see.”

Several Gods felt a chill down their spine and gave Lestirius a vicious glare that said, “Don’t drag us into your bullshit.”

Lestirius though was in his own world right now and hadn’t even noticed.

Viz started raising his own power. A large blade appeared in his hand. Its dark gleam seemed to pull in any and all nearby light and its large frame was big enough to tower over most others. As soon as this sword came out, many of the God’s gathered here couldn’t help but take half a step back.

Sasha could see that the tension was leading up to something disastrous, something that once broken could never be mended. She quickly stored her whip away and stood in front of Lestirius.

“Now now boys, you’ll make a girl jealous if you ignore her. Obviously, things are…tense to say the least but maybe we’re not all jumping into things too early. I mean I’ve known Viz for quite a while. Even though he’s a stubborn, cruel, and admittedly handsome son of a bitch. He’s also not one to stir the pot unless he’s been provoked so surely there’s an explanation for why that power came from his place. Should we not hear him out?”

Tessa rolled her eyes before putting away her weapon and arriving near Viz’s side. She glared at Sasha before in a mocking tone, saying.

“What the pervert says is right. We’ve all known each other for countless years. I know everyone is itching to try for Viz’s head but let’s think logically for a moment. Like the pervy woman says about Viz only going after those who provoke him, well thus far that is true. So there must be a reason as to why this power came.”

Many of the Gods were still at the ready but now their fighting spirit had cooled by a bit.

Tessa continued on.

“Not only that but I have personally tasted Viz’s power on many occasions.”

As she said this, she looked at Sasha before licking her lips in a lustful manner. Sasha felt her blood boil with jealousy.

“The power I sensed just now was not Viz’s but someone else’s. The source just so happened to come from Viz’s place. We all know how Viz can be. If he did it, he would proclaim he did it. Even if he is a little handsome, he’s also stupidly bold in this regard and would not deny it. We all know this. So Viz I ask you…what was that power just now.”

After she said all of this, she spoke telepathically to him.

(I hope you actually have an explanation for all of this Viz otherwise I’ll look like a fool for standing up for you.)

(There is an explanation. As you said, I would not do something and not own up to it. That’s just not how I am.)

Tessa smiled at Viz.

(Heh, I knew it. I know you the best. Much more than that pervy bitch. Remember this favor later because you owe me one.)

Viz felt it was useless to argue with her right now so he just didn’t respond back to her. Instead, with a wave, he directed everyone’s attention to both Kazuki and the half-blooded stranger.

They didn’t know why he pointed them in Kazuki’s direction but when they actually took their own heads out of their asses, they finally noticed the powerful aura coming from the half-blooded stranger.
