Return of the Fallen Volume 11 Chapter 133

Marty began laughing as if she had just heard the funniest joke in the world.

“This guy is funny. Kori, you just regained your power and you think it’s so easy to catch a God. This is not like catching a mortal where once you have them in your grasp they are done. A God can morph and change shapes at random, with a single thought they can be millions of miles away. With their speed alone, many of them can match that of a powerful Vajra ship. With a punch, they can open up chaotic space and destroy everything around them. Even if you take hold of their physical form, what about the soul, what about a soul weapon? The variables are countless. In order to actually capture a God, your power would have to eclipse theirs to such an extent that they can’t use any power, any ability. Are you really claiming to have such overwhelming power?”

Kori went quiet before pointing at the two artifacts floating beside Kazuki.

“Alone, no but for some reason, I feel that with the help of those two…I can do it.”

The blank book and the dull heavy sword floated silently nearby.

(His memory is gone but does he actually know what these Artifacts are? Does he actually have a clue or is this another sense that transcends time and space? Is it mere instinct or something else entirely? Arc, can you ask them about their abilities.)

(Don’t you think I’ve already asked that? These two are stubborn. Since a deal has already been struck they will offer nothing else unless there is something else that is worth it.)

(What, I thought they feared you to some extent. Can you not just threaten them again?)

(Hmph, these bastards aren’t falling for it. They know that my energy is low as well. They already know I won’t waste my power with pointless threats and they say if you dig too deeply you may regret it.)

Kazuki could only sigh. He had nothing to offer and found a dead end with them. Even if he knew what their abilities were, there was no point because they would just want something else in order for Kazuki to use them.

“Kori, forget capturing a God, these two will be of no assistance. Keep to my plan, your first order is to protect us. If you can kill the enemy without risking our safety then that’s fine otherwise defending us is your top priority.”

“Yes, Master.”

Kazuki rolled his eyes hearing the title of Master begin thrown at his feet but he already gave Kori permission to speak freely. Taking it back now would just be annoying and flip-floppy.

“Whatever, I need to go and take a look at the new slaves. Kori like I said you can go and move about on your own just stay within range of me.”

After that Kazuki went to the courtyard. However, Kori who he just said can move about on his own, stuck closely to Kazuki. He stayed within 10 feet of Kazuki and made sure there was no danger. Just like Kori, Mei and Kosaru stuck to Kazuki’s side as well. They were interested in all of the new fighters and were excited to see their strength.

Marty on the other hand did not care very much about power and was more interested in building her new and improved glider. She had already found a decent workspace and without anything else to do, she went straight to her workshop deep within the castle.

Making their way to the courtyard, Kazuki was surprised to see all of the new slaves on the ground covered in injuries. The only people unharmed were Samuel and his three servants, Chaka, Bersik, and Simmons. Everyone else was slowly climbing back up to their feet and spitting blood.

Samuel ran over to him in a panic.

“Sir Jentson what was that just now!? That power that split the sky and came rushing over to us? It knocked everyone down and it looked like it was about to kill them. I thought I was about to die.”

Kazuki looked him up and down before glancing at Chaka and the others.

(He’s talking about Kori’s transformation. Since he’s unharmed, Viz must have covered him and the others with his power. I guess he didn’t care or wasn’t thinking about the new slaves so they took a good amount of damage.)

Kazuki was annoyed at Viz’s lack of forethought but at the same time, he couldn’t be too mad. After all, these people were not his responsibility nor was he the one that harmed them. Still, Viz could have easily protected all of these people but now that he didn’t Kazuki would have to work even harder to fix their souls.

“Sorry about that Samuel, this is the cause.”

Kazuki sidestepped revealing the tall and slim Kori. Samuel could not sense Kori at all but recognized him immediately as the sickly stranger who had approached him earlier. Now though Kori looked intimidating and full of power.

Samuel instinctively took a step back but then he saw Mei and with a brave face he reclaimed that last step and even took another step forward.

“You are the man from before?”

Kori stepped forward as well.

“My name is Kori. I serve Master Jentson.”

Kori did not bow even though he was a servant but there was no way Samuel would or could ask him to. Samuel just swallowed hard before turning his attention back to Kazuki.

“Sir Jentson, so we have another God on our side, incredible. In such a short time our strength has practically doubled. Ah, what am I doing, Sir Jentson, after that beam of light filling the skies, our slaves got injured. Many of them were already weakened when you purchased them but now after that light, they are in far worse condition. We must act now before it’s too late.”

“Right.”

Kazuki walked past Samuel and stood in front of all of the slaves. In total, there were 50 of them. All of them were weakened severely but before they were, their powers equaled a being at the Demigod stage. While two more were equal to Gods. To bring the ones up to being Gods again, it would cost far too much. Kazuki needed an excessive number of Divine crystals just to meet the energy requirements for those two so there was no way he could restore them to Godhood, at least not today.

“I am called Jentson. Along with Samuel here, we are your new owners. Each one of you has taken considerable damage so don’t move too much or it will become annoying. Follow my words, shut your eyes and open your soul worlds to me.”

These people were already slaves and had the slave mark on their heads and souls so they could not disobey Kazuki or Samuel. All at once they shut their eyes and opened their soul worlds to him. With a wave of ki spreading from Kazuki, he calmed their minds as well as began to heal their broken bodies. Following that, his aura entered all of their soul worlds at once, and similar to Kori, he began to heal the damaged souls within all of them.

Even with all of these Demigods along with the two former Gods, it was millions of times easier to heal their souls compared to Kori’s. Kori had damage inflicted on him by not one but two powerful Artifacts while these people had damage from much more normal things. One man had been struck by lightning and it had entered his soul, while a woman had been betrayed by a friend who literally stabbed her with a soul weapon. This was how it was with many of them. With these types of soul wounds, Kazuki could fix the damage without much thought or attention.

He pulled out the remaining Divine crystals he had and drained them of their power. He guided this power into these individuals and in seconds repaired what was once no more. As these people stepped back into the Demigod stage one by one, the power surrounding them like a vacuum was sucked into the depths of their soul world.

Samuel and the other servants had never felt a place without magical energy yet at this moment they were surrounded by this lack of magic. To the four of them, it felt unnatural and for some reason suffocating even though they could still breathe. Samuel, Chaka, and the other two couldn’t help but retreat backward a bit to where there was still magical energy. As soon as they were out of reach of this void, they breathed sighs of relief.

Chaka was curious and asked.

“Young Master, is it true, is Sir Jentson really fixing their souls?”

Samuel glanced at Kori before nodding.

“Yes. That is why no matter what, you all will never speak a word of today’s events. Understand?”

They all answered in the affirmative before Chaka added.

“Still, to think Sir Jentson was this powerful. Young Master, what good fortune it is to have met him.”

Samuel smiled before gripping his fist shut.

“Sir Jentson is someone that I can only admire but you’re wrong. It isn’t my fortune to have met him, it is all of ours. We really may have a chance.”
