Return of the Fallen Volume 11 Chapter 141

After handing over their payment, the two stunning beauties gave the Infinity Blades an odd look. They could both sense a fragment of time magic within their new swords and found it both strange, and mysterious.

Without hesitation, they both swung the blades out of curiosity. Those in the crowd became terrified. They had just witnessed Kazuki give a demonstration moments before. A single swing from him had the potential to kill anyone at the 7th stage below and even many Demigods along with it.

These people could not imagine what would happen if a God swung it, let alone two of them at the same time.

They all saw their life flash before their eyes as the two Godesses gave a casual swing with their new blades. Thankfully Viz was already there. Without a word, he created a barrier that surrounded the two Goddesses as well as the insane explosive force that came with these swings.

Chaotic space was slashed open and a terrifying suction force erupted from within the barrier and threatened to drag both Godesses inside. Both of them were shocked and did not expect this at all. Their powers rushed up and came pouring outward like a tidal wave. Together their power surrounded this chaotic space tear and helped to seal it shut. All of this happened in a split second so it was contained but if they had left it alone for even a few seconds the entirety of Gauldriss city could easily have been swept up in it and vanished from the universe itself.

Tessa and Sasha both wore shocked expressions and so too did the crowd before them. Kazuki wanted to berate them but he knew if he did that it would only lead to his own demise.

Viz on the other hand could say whatever the fuck he pleased. As soon as the chaotic space tear had been sealed, Viz appeared behind the two and grabbed them both by their collars.

“Didn’t I say not to impede my business and to not bother me? LEAVE!”

Using a bit of strength he threw both of them into the air where they were tossed far into the distance and vanished from sight. Neither had time to react and were properly thrown out. They both knew they had messed up and staying around Viz any longer would only be a detriment and would ruin his impression of them both. Though they regretted having to leave so abruptly, they could not stay any longer with the rage aura Viz was releasing in their direction.

The two glared at one another one last time before going their separate ways.

As soon as they were gone, the silent crowd erupted with cheer and roars of excitement. One after another they praised and glorified what they had just seen and the clamoring only rose.

“Did you see that!? With a single swing, they cut open Chaotic space and they didn’t even imbue either of those blades with power!”

“Forget about that! Even a Demigod if they are strong enough can do such a feat. What you should consider instead is the fact that two Gods used those crafted blades and neither of the blades broke.”

This realization spread among the crowd and they all grew rowdier. It was one thing to tear open Chaotic space but for them to use a magic weapon that was not an Artifact or a Divine Soul Weapon, and that weapon remained intact. It was like something out of a fantasy.

“To be used by a God and not break. Even if it were to break on the very next swing the fact that it could handle that much strength just shows how durable those Infinity Blades really are.”

When this random fellow said this, a strange silence took over for but a fraction of a second before someone deep within the crowd shouted.

“I DON’T CARE IF IT COST 10 BILLION DIVINE CRYSTALS!! I’LL BUY IT THIS INSTANT!!!”

Following this shout, an uproar broke out in the crowd and everyone began pulling out storage rings filled with Divine Crystals as they tried their best to purchase an Infinity Blade.

If Kazuki’s display got everyone’s curiosity, then Sasha and Tessa’s demonstration got their attention and they were demanding to pay billions for it. Kazuki smirked seeing this and Viz as well felt something ignite in his chest as he was filled with delight.

Still, this price was not something just anyone could afford. Many people could not afford such a steep price. A billion Divine Crystals was an amount of money that one would murder and deceive and backstab a million times over for. With such an amount it would not be hard for one to step into Godhood from the Demigod stage. With that amount of resources, it would basically only be a matter of time. This amount of money was not something one could scoff at.

Many people in the crowd were far too poor by these standards and could only retreat out of the line and watch all of the excitement from the sidelines. Meanwhile, those in Factions had deep deep pockets and they came forward one after another. The Infinity Blades sold as if they were going out of style. Even at the absorbent price, these weapons were disappearing like crazy as money flowed like an unending ocean.

Even though Gauldriss was considered one of the poorer cities in this strange world, it did not mean that everyone was broke. After many factions depleted their caches, then came those in certain businesses. Mercenaries of sorts, adventurers, brothel owners, merchants, and so on. After them, came a few hidden experts that had untouched funds they had saved for thousands of years. Finally, there were actually those who made deals and agreements right then and there on the spot.

Some people made greedy and outlandish loans and others happily signed them. Anything they could do to get their hands on the money right there so they could buy their own Infinity Blade. Seeing this go down, Samuel regretted not having taken part in handing out loans. The merchant’s blood running through him cried out in pain watching people set to get crazy future profits when said loans were repaid in full.

At the same time, he knew this was useless to think about. He needed money in the here and now and he needed it fast. Waiting to be repaid thousands if not tens of thousands of years down the line was not something he could currently afford to do. So with pain in his heart, he looked past all the profits he could have had.

Still, even missing all of the loan profits, the number of Divine Crystals they were racking in was insane. In only a few minutes, their collective empty reserves filled and piled a mountain high within their storage rings.

Seven minutes in, seven minutes was all it took for Kazuki to announce to the bustling crowd.

“All right! With that, we are now completely sold out!”

The crowd became stunned. There were only a few thousand that had been sold. Those that still had not gotten to buy a Blade yet were left reeling and devastated.

“HOW CAN THIS BE!!?”

Very quickly another uproar took place but this one threatened to get out of hand if it was not put to a swift stop.

Kazuki glanced at Kori.

(Calm them down before things take a turn.)

Kori gave a sipel nod.

(Yes Master.)

Lifting his foot, he took a single step. The moment his foot touched the ground, cold frosty energy spread out and encircled everyone there. The temperature was so cold that several people froze completely on the spot and became blocks of ice. The erupting crowd both literally and figuratively cooled and the rising madness was quelled.

Everyone stared at Kori and did not recognize him. This city did not have many new faces that often so they knew most people. Seeing this mysterious God with icy blue scales here and there made many feel dread. To fight him was not an option.

This cold energy of his got the attention of other Gods within the city but again, seeing that the power came from Viz’s castle, these Gods chose to ignore it after grumbling a few casual insults.

Kori rose up into the sky and his voice penetrated their cold bodies and reverberated in their chests making it difficult to breathe.

“My Master said there are no more items to be sold. Step outside of Lord Viz’s courtyard and be on your way. Your business here is done.”

People were shocked. Kori was clearly referring to Kazuki as his Master. A God serving a 7th stage being, a mortal, this was unheard of. Many looked back and forth between Kazuki and Kori but the two remained silent.

Viz dug in his ear for a second and he was about to step in when Kori’s frozen power got even colder. Suddenly many people in the crowd felt their magical power slowing and their connection to their power began to numb. A person that could not use magic was defenseless in these people’s minds and they all waited no longer to see what would happen next.

As fast as they could, these people fled as if their life depended on it. Viz smiled at Kori. He liked the man’s brutal nature. More than that though, Viz held a storage ring in his hand and his eyes shined with greed as he looked at all of the riches within.
