Return of the Fallen Volume 11 Chapter 150

Viz and Ezenee broke away from one another and separated the moment three other Gods appeared before them. Two of the Gods Viz recognized immediately and the third was a stranger.

“Vis, the humiliation you’ve caused me to suffer, you will experience a thousandfold!”

Viz raised a brow.

“Lestirius and Olresth. Did you both come straight from the arena…I don’t see Sasha with you. Guess you couldn’t convince her to come to join you both in death but you did manage to convince this unfamiliar next to you.”

Viz glared at the unfamiliar God and this man swallowed hard but he did not back down. Lestirus felt he was being ignored and this caused his blood to boil.

“Fuck Sasha. She didn’t come so she shall reap none of the rewards from today. Viz you have been far too bold for far too long. Every turn and every chance, you cause me an endless amount of frustration but no more. You will die on this day.”

Viz had no clue what Lestirius was talking about.

“I humiliated you? No, you humiliated yourself the day you thought you could stand up to me. I pushed you and Olresth as well as Sasha back into the arena, yet you come to me now and think there will be a difference. Even if you three join forces, nothing will change. No, actually there will be a change. Instead of me walking away and letting you live, on this day three Gods will fall and I will not be amongst them.”

Viz gripped his heavy sword in his hands and his aura began to rise. At the same time Lestirius and his cohorts did not back down and their auras spilled out like raging rivers as they too drew their weapons and prepared to fight.

“Now hold it right there!”

Ezenee’s ara came flooding forth and slammed into Lestirius and his comrades, causing them to falter in confusion. Lestirus shouted at him.

“WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS YOU OX-HEADED FOOL!”

Ezenee smirked hearing such a weak insult. He pointed his long glaive at Lestirus and his allies.

“Viz is my opponent and mine alone. I never agreed to have you bitches help nor do I want help from cowards who gang up on one person. You are not Gods but insects in my eyes and if you try and steal what is rightfully mine, I will remove that narrow head from your scrawny neck. THAT GOES FOR THE REST OF YOU AS WELL. STEP FORTH IF YOU DARE AND TASTE MY BLADE IF YOU SO CHOOSE IT!”

Ezenee’s voice echoed out in every direction and contained enough power to kill mortals below the 7th stage. Lestirus and his allies stood in the air in disbelief. They thought Ezenee would be more than willing to help them destroy Viz since he was already fighting him but it turns out Ezenee, like a spoiled brat did not wish to share.

The three Gods looked at one another but none dared make a move. They knew it would be difficult to face Viz and thought they had a high chance with Ezenee’s help but now they knew he was not one to join hands. Now if they got in the way they would not only be facing Viz but Ezenee as well. It was a lose-lose situation.

Lestirus felt the blood rushing to his head and wanted to just jump in anyway. His image reputation and honor were thoroughly kicked into the mud and he would not…could not let such a slight stand. He was about to throw it all away and risk his life when Olresth grabbed his shoulder.

(Restain your rage. Think about it. We cannot stand up to either of these monsters but that does not mean we will let Viz get away. Let the two animals fight one another and allow them to weaken each other. Who knows Ezenee may actually be doing us a favor and he may slay Viz but even if he doesn’t, if the two weaken one another at that time when they are exhausted, that is when we strike.)

Lestirus’s rapidly beating heart suddenly calmed and his rage cooled by several degrees and he felt excitement run up his spine.

(Yes…We shall let them fight like mindless beasts and in the end, we will swoop in and take Viz’s head. If Ezenee is also at a state in which we can take him, let us strike him down as well for being such a disrespectful asshole.)

The three Gods said nothing to Viz or Ezenee and simply retreated outside of the battlefield. It was one thing to sit around and watch for an opening it was another to do it whilst surrounded on all sides by Chaotic space constantly tearing and pulling at their bodies from all around.

It took a good deal of power just to escape from that danger zone.

Viz felt Lestirus and his allies were stupid. They were really waiting for him to exhaust himself.

(Well, they will be waiting for a while. Let them!)

Viz threw away all useless thoughts and no longer cared about anything else. He trusted in Kazuki’s plan and with it, he focused solely on the opponent at hand. In this way, he could go all out without worry. Ezenee responded in kind. Sword met with Glaive and explosions rang out continuously. The sky lit up as if stars were erupting nonstop. The sky split and the world trembled and mountain-sized chunks of the planet were sucked up into the Chaotic space tears as if they were going through a grinder.

Kori on the other hand was dealing with his own danger. He had snatched the expert craftsman in an instant and took off in a different Vajra ship. However, instead of simply fleeing in one direction and leaving the mess behind, he kept circling back around and kept close to the battlefield. The enemy Gods’ had caught up but they couldn’t quite catch him. He guided the ship as if it were a slippery eel as he dipped and dodged.

The Gods chasing him found this annoying and inconvenient but also to them it was the best choice. If Kori were to just take off, it could take countless years to catch him in a Vajra ship as the speed was something difficult to gain. Only if they had a faster ship and an enormous amount of Divine Crystals to burn as fuel would they catch up to him in a timely manner.

After a bit of time, they soon found that he was following a similar pattern where he would circle back around to the battlefield. Catching on to this, they threw out attack after attack but they quickly found out this would not work. Every individual attack they threw at Kori, he would simply deflect with his own skills or he would sue the ship to dodge them.

The answer to this was something all could see but difficult to implement. In order to capture them in a timely manner, they would need to thor a shit ton of attacks all at once but this also caused problems. One attack from one person would slam into another and these attacks would counter and cancel out one another’s attacks.

This meant they would have to work together but this as well was disagreeable. If they worked together did that not mean they would also have to share the reward? That was unthinkable. They were Gods, why would they ever share?

It was idiotic thoughts such as these that bought time.

Across the sky at another battlefield, Kazuki and the others were slaying their enemies with little difficulty. Kazuki had trained them for a short time but it was quite effective. He made them all work together and fight having each other’s backs. They used a simple tactic but to the outsider, it was ever-changing and complex.

Their groups would split apart and some would attack while others escorting them would defend. The defenders would go all out defending the offensive force while the offensive force would go all out with their attacks. In this way, the offensive force did not have to worry about defending themselves and could there everything into their attacks.

This would normally leave the defenders vulnerable to outside attacks as they would not be defending themselves but Kazuki had a way to deal with that.

His mucus needles were in the tens of thousands and were harder than any of these Demigod’s Divine Soul weapons. He used them as if they were miniature shields. He would use a little over a hundred on each of his warriors for protection. These needles did not simply sit around on their bodies but moved as if they had a mind of their own. Kazuki attached some of his aura on each and every one of these needles and this aura formed a tiny invisible bubble around his allies.

This bubble was not for protection, however. Instead, it was more like radar. The moment the aura bubble was punctured it would tell the needle exactly where the attack was coming from and the needles would move by themselves to that exact location and would protect Kazuki’s warriors.

He hid these needles all over his warrior’s armor just beneath the surface. The moment the bubble broke, the needles would move to the surface and take the blow before sinking below the surface of the armor. In this way, it looked like the black samurai armor the slave warriors wore was invincible as they seemingly were taking zero damage from an outsider’s perspective.

This fucked with the enemies psychologically and they began to become terrified. Every time Kazuki’s warriors attacked, they would kill anyone in front of them while the opposite was true for the enemies. Every time the enemies attacked, their blows would get deflected and the tiny needles moving beneath the warrior’s armor looked like creepy maggots crawling under one’s flesh. This was horrendous and disgusting.

Like this, the Factions these Gods were so proud of began to fall rapidly to a group of little more than 50 people.
