Return of the Fallen Volume 11 Chapter 152
Kazuki’s laugh came to an abrupt stop and his expression changed.
“I was not laughing at you or anyone else, but rather the situation at hand. From your perspective, you believe that I and my allies are in a hopeless setting but I believe something else entirely.”
The Gods’ anger once again flipped to bemused.
The sand God took another step forward.
“Little mortal, are you saying that we cannot see what is plain as day right before our very eyes and you can? Tell me…What is it you think is going to happen here? I’m really curious.”
While the Gods were laughing at this situation Kazuki’s expression did not change as he spoke calmly and matter-factly. Holding up a finger he told them.
“One, more people will soon show up.”
All of the Gods there could guess that. After all there were others already on the way that had split from the group earlier and everyone was aware by this point that Adigus had set some of the rumors in motion and had bought up most of the slaves in Gauldriss city. It only made sense that he, along with his forces would arrive and tac on anyone else who was interested in the expert craftsman.
“We all know this. DO you think just because more people will show it will somehow change things in your favor? What delusions must be running through your head?”
Kazuki ignored the comment and raised another finger.
“Two, I will unleash a very interesting card and with it, many of you will die, that I have no doubt.”
The Gods stared blankly for a moment before their laughter grew louder and louder.
“We should just kill this brat. Since he is testing our patience it would not be dishonorable to kill this shitstain. The others can deal with Viz and we can join the hunt for the craftsman.”
Many of the Gods were getting tired of Kazuki’s bold tongue while others just found it hilarious but Kazuki did not care what they thought and after raising another finger, he continued.
“Three, after you are dead, I will extract as many resources from your corpses and I will walk away stronger, richer, and more powerful than I have ever been while you lot will be no more. Your bodies will be thoroughly obliterated and your souls scattered into the void.”
The way Kazuki said this, it was with such confidence that one or two of the Gods felt something was off. No, they still didn’t believe him but they did find it strange how he said this with such assurance. Even his allies did not sway nor show a single change in expression as if they believed in his lies as well.
Those that felt something was off didn’t get a chance to mention anything as the other Gods simply roared with even more laughter. They had never witnessed such a foolish mortal in all of their lives. The sand God especially found this funny and wanted to know just how far Kazuki would go and egged him on.
“So you have this so-called ultimate weapon. A weapon that can kill all of us so then why have you not used it yet? What are you waiting for? You’re already surrounded. If I simply reach forward and grab your neck, can this so-called ultimate weapon kill me? Fine! Show it to me, show it to all of us and if it is as powerful as you say it is, I swear to the heavens above I will step away, hehe.”
Kazuki shook his head.
“Now is not the time to show you. But I will be generous.”
Kazuki looked at all of the Gods and met their eyes one by one before he declared before them all.
“If you leave now if you walk away then I will not pursue you any further than this. You will live to see another day. I swear to the heavens above, you will live.”
Again the laughter rose to another level but again, Kazuki’s expression and those with him did not deviate whatsoever. These Gods just could not understand where he got such faith and a few curious ones began to sense their surroundings. They extended their aura for billions of miles but could not find a single enemy God besides Viz and Kori. As a matter of fact, their potential allies were increasing as they could sense a few familiar Gods swiftly approaching.
This pissed them off. They now felt that Kazuki was bluffing 100% and was fucking with them trying to buy time or humiliate them.
The sand God as well. By now he was wondering just where this charade would end.
“Enough with the tall tales. We have not killed you because it is a slight on our reputation but if you talk any more nonsense, killing you would be seen only as a small blemish on our reputations ad nothing more. After all, your speech is offensive to many ears here and by this point, you are simply asking to die.”
These Gods were not falling for his tricks. Kazuki said he had an ultimate weapon yet refused to take it out and offer any form of proof. These Gods would have to be truly foolish to take a mortal’s words so seriously so they refused to hear any more of it. For now, they would simply hold Kazuki and his group as hostages.
“Forget all of the wise shit. We all know that ice God is your slave. Call him over here and make sure he brings the craftsmen with him. Hurry up or we destroy your bodies and trap your souls and torture them for a million years.”
Just as he said this, a bright light lit up the sky.
(Kazuki, there is a gate opening in the center of that city over there.)
Arc could sense the stargate in the middle of Vestoro opening and mentioned it but even if he had said nothing, the light and energy radiating from the center of the city was not something one could miss even if they were blind.
Hundreds of Vajra ships came flying forth from two different directions. Some from the southern mountain range and some from the city of Vestoro. The moment the ships came from Vestoro, the bright beam of light coming from the city vanished and the gate closed.
As soon as the gate in Vestoro closed, Samuel’s expression changed.
(Sir Jentson, Adigus is here.)
Samuel knew what Adigus’s energy felt like so he knew he was there at the moment of his arrival. Samuel clenched his fist so tight that drops of blood began to drip from the palm of his hands. He ground his teeth painfully as he waited anxiously.
Kazuki sent him a wave of ki to calm his heart and mind. After half a breath, Samuel’s emotions were under control but his expression was ugly and filled with anger. Through gritted teeth he thanked Kazuki.
(Samuel do not forget why we are here. Yes, it is to kill Adigus as well as anyone else who is our enemy but do not let your emotions ruin the plan. Remember it is not just your life on the line but all of ours. You as the last Cortail have a grave responsibility. Not just to yourself and what your father has left behind but also to Bersik, Chaka, and even Simmons. Breathe and do what we have laid out. This will work, trust me.)
Samuel’s expression softened but he remained vigilant. His Infinity blade held steady in his grip. He was ready.
At the same time, Viz saw this and after another exchange of blows, he retreated slightly and began to avoid and dodge everything Ezenee threw at him. This was difficult to do in the middle of all the tares in Chaotic space that was around them but he managed.
At the same time, Kori changed direction in the Vajra ship and came racing toward Kazuki and the others. The other Gods saw this and followed and those already surrounding Kazuki and his allies raised their guard.
“Do not let him break through and make sure none of these mortals escapes our grasp!”
The surrounding Gods spread out their aura and it quickly encompassed Kazuki and the rest. This way Kori could only come so close before the Vajra ship he was on was affected.
Kori though did not change course and in a few seconds, he arrived a few miles away from Kazuki and the others before he came to an abrupt stop. All of the Gods watching this became shocked before they instantly moved and surrounded Kori as well.
Those that had been chasing arrived shortly after and those from the Southern mountain range and those that had just come out of the stargate in Vestoro all arrived and completely encircled Kori, Kazuki, and everyone else. It was dead silent for a brief moment before a strange yet familiar laughter filled the air.
