Return of the Fallen Volume 11 Chapter 159

After killing the last Gods in the area, Sasha and Tessa were ready to head to Viz’s location.

“Jentson, Sasha let’s hurry before Adigus catches Viz.”

Tessa did not care about the others. In her eyes, there was only concern for Viz.

Kazuki had other plans though.

“No, there is someone we have to meet before that.”

Both Tessa and Sasha were shocked.

“Jentson you wish to meet with someone at a time like this. Are you insane? We have no time for games and must hurry before Adigus seeks his fangs into Viz.”

“Sorry, Tessa but I’m not playing here. In order to insure a perfect victory, there is something that must be done first.”

Kazuki explained in detail and the two frowned. Sasha gripped her whip in her hand before releasing the tension in its handle.

“There’s no way that will work. What your talking about is more than just humiliation but a matter of pride. Gods do not just flip. Going your route will simply waste time, time that we do not have to throw away.”

Kazuki shrugged.

“Maybe your right. Maybe it won’t work but are you sure doubting me is the best idea? Are you so sure that my plan has no merit? Would you bet your life on that notion?”

Sasha paused.

(Just how can this mortal…this Demigod be so arrogant!? No, it’s not arrogance, it’s confidence. I have lived for millions of years and have known Gods that have come from every background one can imagine. I’ve lived among them and interacted with them and they do not just change so easily. Why does he believe so deeply that his way is the correct path?)

Tessa agreed with Kazuki.

“I have seen things on this day that are hard to explain. Not just today but over this last month I have witnessed one oddity after another and all of them have you at the center. If Jentson says he can do it…If Viz trusts him to this extent, then so do I.”

Sasha stared at Tessa with wide eyes.

“Are you serious right now!? You are willing to place your trust in this wea…Er…Jentson. Yes, he’s shown us things that I have thought were impossible for a mortal to do but still. You really trust him so?”

“I do.”

There was no hesitation in Tessa’s answer which caused Sasha to look at her blankly.

“As I said Sasha, would you put your life on the line and bet against me, or are you seeing something I cannot.”

This response bugged Sasha deeply but at the same time, she couldn’t place her finger on it, this answer left her wanting to trust Kazuki. She couldn’t explain it logically she just had a gut feeling that Kazuki could pull something off. She had never felt anything like this. Even when it came to Viz this feeling was a first and it was because of Kazuki.

Seeing Tessa so ready to just go for it, Sasha felt somewhat cowardly.

“FINE! I’ll risk it all. Jentson, you’d better not let me down or I’ll kill you in the afterlife!”

The three said nothing more and set off in Kazuki’s ship faster than light.

—————————————————————————-

Across the world, several billion miles away, Viz, Samuel, Mei, and the others were fleeing as fast as possible. Behind them in the distance was Adigus along with a group of Gods numbering 20.

The sails atop Adigus’s ship seemed to sharpen and brighten as his ship sped up and cut through the wind.

His ship was gaining on Samuel’s and he was quickly approaching them.

“Big sis, what are we going to do? They’re getting closer!”

Kosaru tried to put on a brave face but he was actually scared as he asked Mei. Mei looked at Samuel and Marty but she didn’t want to bother them at this moment so she just comforted Kosaru.

“Don’t worry. Once big brother gets here, He’ll beat all of them to death. We just have to wait a little longer.”

These words were actually comforting to Kosaru and he calmed down a little bit.

Kori stood behind the two with his weapon ready. He would not let any harm befall his Master’s family.

Samuel on the other hand wore an ugly expression.

“Viz, at this rate Adigus, will catch up, and there’s no sign of Sir Jentson. He’s alright right? I mean his plans have all worked out time and again. Surely he’s still alive and on his way. I…I just don’t know how he is going to take on other Gods and then catch up with us. He said to trust him and I do but to take on Gods without more ships…Isn’t that impossible?”

Viz nodded.

“Yep, without more ships at his disposal, it is impossible.”

Samuel’s eyes widened in shock. He didn’t expect Viz to just say it so plainly. Viz chuckled inside seeing Samuel’s look but he was not cruel and added.

“It is impossible but we’ve both seen the impossible become reality a number of times already. It’s stupid to start doubting Jentson now. He says he can handle it he can handle it. He says he’ll catch up, then he’ll do that too. We just have to be patient. That is unless you wish to go ahead and surrender right now and hope that Adigus spares your life. I’m sure if you hand over the craftsmen and all of your business he might just spare you. Shall I raise the white flag now or do you wish to wait another few minutes when we can see the white of Adigus’s eyes?”

Viz said this with a smile and the reaction he got from Samuel was exactly what he wanted. Samuel was grinding his teeth and his aura was rising rapidly. He gripped his hand into a fist and the air around his hand exploded as it was crushed in his palm.

“I WILL NEVER SURRENDER TO THAT RUTHLESS BUTCHER. EVEN IF HE PEELS THE SKIN FROM MY BONES I WILL NOT GIVE HIM AN OUNCE OF SATISFACTION. I’LL FIGHT BACK WITH EVERYTHING I HAVE DOWN TO MY LAST DYING BREATH!”

Viz’s smile grew.

“Good, keep that energy about you and never lose yourself to the enemies before you. We will win this. After all, you have me on your side, hehe.”

Samuel let out a heavy breath realizing Viz was just trying to light a fire beneath him.

Viz slapped him on his back with a smile.

“By the way, if you did want to give up just now, I would have killed you on the spot.”

With a toothy grin, Viz headed to the back of the ship and drew his long heavy blade.

Samuel felt a bit of cold sweat pour down his back at this moment. Even though Viz was smiling when he said it, Samuel knew he was not joking. Had he really decided to give up, Viz would have destroyed him right then and there and it was understandable as to why. This was not just about Samuel’s future but Viz’s as well. Viz was ready to put it all on the line. If things took a turn he was ready to go all out til the bitter end.

Marty saw the cold sweat pouring down Samuel’s face and chuckled before throwing him a rag to wipe himself.

“Hehe, makes you think, who’s scarier, Viz or our enemy? One side has 20 Gods while the other has Viz. We haven’t seen much from Viz but he has survived alone in a city of Gods. Gods who despise him and wish him dead. If throughout all of that time all they could do was wish death upon him and not dare try it themselves, well makes you wonder just how dangerous he truly is, no?”

Viz stood at the Stern with his sword held high. His eyes began to glow with red and silver light as sparks of red electricity danced and scattered across his blade. With a low and throaty grunt, he swung it downward as if he was wielding the heavens themselves.

Red lightning filled the sky behind their ship and millions upon millions of red bolts of lightning came crashing down. A tidal wave of red lightning came crashing down toward Adigus and his small fleet.

Seeing this lightning exploding toward him Adigus grew even more pissed. His metallic fan appeared in his hand and the moment several bolts of lightning snaked toward him. He swung his fan with full force. The lightning was deflected off of his metal fan and with his own power added he changed the lightning’s direction and it came flying back toward Viz. It had gained a terrifying amount of power and as it came rushing back, thousands of tears in Chaotic space were torn open.

The lightning appeared in front of Viz but Viz held no fear. Once again he swung his blade down and connected with this new lightning and an explosion rang out. This powerful explosion, actually propelled the ship forward causing it to accelerate faster for a brief moment.

Viz and everyone else were now a little bit further away from Adigus. Viz smiled back at Adigus as this was his purpose all along.

“VIZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!”
